Experience New York like a local!

  • 5 of 5

This is a private little place at the top of a historic Brownstone. We were very comfortable here. Using the subway was fairly handy to travel in and back from Manhattan. Judit kept us informed of details. If you would like to experience New York a little less like a tourist, give this place a try! We always like getting exercise by walking on our vacations, and this was a great opportunity for us to learn the subway system as well!

Great location if wanting a NYC Experience!

  • 4 of 5

We loved the location of this place. We were gone all day almost everyday out and about in NYC or Brooklyn, but it was comfortable and a safe place to walk to from the subway. It was a quick walk to the subway, and then very easy to navigate toward particular destinations in the city. The place is functional, but not fancy, yet it worked great for our needs to come home rest and get back out there. Beds were comfortable, and we had a great time! Thank you!

Clean, quiet, comfortable stay.

  • 4 of 5

Clean, comfortable and quiet. Plumbing in bathroom needs some attention- no shower knob to change temperature.

Owner's Response: This guest spoke with the OWNER regarding the shower fixture. It is incorrect that you can not adjust the temperature. The very top portion of the handle has been broken off by the last guest. We communicated this to the guest and they responded that they understood and the function of the shower was not an issue at all. Not sure why they felt the need to mislead on their review when they gave us a 4 star rating. We just want to make sure that guests are aware that adjusting and utilizing the shower is not a problem at this property. The ornamental portion of the shower that was broken off is on order an arriving within a couple of weeks.

Fantastic apartment, neighborhood and host!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was top notch. Perfect size for the four of us. The neighbceaorhood was fantastic the neighbors very friendly. Specifically our host Russ.

The deli around the corner made great sandwiches and for the rest of our needs, the supermarket across the street was sufficient.

The perfect place if you want to experience New York city, but don't want to stay in the middle of all the hustle.

Clean and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

It's clean and beautiful, the only thing that I'm not very satisfy is that without air conditioning, if you want to stay here during summer, make sure you can deal with the heat. Otherwise I recommend it.

Owner's Response: I am surprised at the review. The apartment actually does have AC. I wished you had notified us so that we could have instructed you on accessing and activating. The listing advertisers both heating and cooling. I really wished that you had let us know you were having issues with AC. For future guests who are looking at this listing, we advertise and offer both HEATING and AIR CONDITIONING for every rental.

LOVELY! Effortless stay - you won't be disappointed

  • 5 of 5

We had SUCH A WONDERFUL TIME during our visit. The place was immaculate, the amenities made things effortless and the apartment was very spacious. Also, the subway was very convenient (just be sure NOT to get off at Utica - my 60-year-old parents who stayed with us regretted that mistake...). We had visitors for dinner the first night - 2 adults 3 children and then additional adults who joined us for the stay for a few nights and the apartment comfortably housed all of us.

We also adored the coffee house around the corner. When I say they have the best coffee I've ever drank it is no exaggeration - and that is coming from a barista who has worked in multiple big cities at a number of cafe's! Its name is Brunswick Cafe and their coffee, avocado toast, croissants, omelets and more are all DIVINE. Perfect place to have nearby when vacationing. Not to mention the owner/servers are friendly, conversational and helpful.

We also wanted to recommend using Fresh Direct if you enjoy preparing meals yourself (I don't work for them, I swear - I just loved the convenience!). Not to mention, kitchen is so nice and well equipped its almost a shame not to use it! It was so easy and given we were visiting NY with our 10-month-old and traveling to Ireland following our stay in NY stocking up on formula/food/diapers was essential prior to leaving. The service is incredibly easy (order an pay for everything online) and groceries are delivered right to your door. They have a variety of prepared family style meals that are super convenient and quite good. If you are staying for more than 1,2 days I would highly recommend it.

Thanks for the wonderful stay. We all would highly recommend your beautiful brownstone and thank you for having us!
