Wonderful place for getaway with awesome views
We had a wonderful stay in this chalet. The views are great and the vicinity of Luray and Shenandoah makes the location perfect for a great getaway to hike and enjoy the beautiful nature. The owner is very responsive to questions.
It was great soaking in the hot tub after a day of hiking while enjoying the great views.
Stunning cabin far from the hustle and bustle of town. Great weekend getaway. Can't wait to go back again. A bit pricey but worth it.
The cabin was very nice but the deck is in need of repair. Some boards are damaged and rotted. There werent any towels in the loft bathroom and the kitchen did not have a can opener. The view is partially blocked because of surrounding trees. It was a nice cabin for a weekend getaway. Also, you have to pay a cleaning fee but the agreement says you have to clean and mop the floors, which we did.
The views from the cabin we're outstanding. The hot tub inside and out we're SUPER nice, and I enjoyed every minute of being there. The road up to the cabin is a little rough (and freaky at night) but definitely worth it once you get up top!
Nice property except sleeping accommodations not provided
This property was great in all respects except there were not enough beds or places to sleep! The property was listed as accommodating 6, and I booked it for 6 (I had to pay a fee to do so, so the owner knew 6 people were coming). Yet when we showed up, there were only sleeping spots for 4 people (1 queen bed in each of the 2 bedrooms). Upon searching the house, we found one small camping cot folded up in a closet - which barely fit a fifth person, and no sheets were provided for anything but the beds anyway. Other than that, there were 2 loveseats in the living room - which were not long enough to even lay on. I informed the owner (David Foster of "Adorable Rustic Cabins") about this, and was summarily told someone could sleep on the couch (there was no "couch" just the short loveseats), and was also told that he would be by with an air mattress the next day (which he did drop off for our second and last night there).
The view was very pretty and the place was nice in other respects. However, the sleeping situation was simply unacceptable given that the listing claimed to accommodate 6 people, and I specifically paid for 6 people! Adequate sleeping arrangements (beds of some sort, or even something close to that) should have been provided - but they were not, and not even a decent explanation was given for their absence.
Beautiful view, comfortable cabin with some nice luxuries.
We enjoyed our stay tremendously. Our days consisted of waking up to beautiful views of the mountains and farmland below, going for hikes, and coming home to soak in the hot tub while watching the sun set behind the mountains. Hikes in the Shenandoah National park are close by (10min to the closest side of the park, 45min via Skyline Drive to the far side of the park) with plenty of options for folks of all abilities.
There were a few bugs in the house (as noted in other reviews) but that seems expected given the house is in a very remote area. Over all, the house is gorgeous and my partner, dog and I found it very comfortable.
Thanks for your review. We agree the cabin has great views. Beautiful sunsets. Hard to beat. The cabin is very convenient yet in a private mountain setting. From time to time we will get some lady bugs in but we have the cabin sprayed and any that get in will die. Most all cabins in our area will have some. Some owners will not even spray. They let them run their course. Not us. We take care of them. Great place for dogs. No close roads nearby. To worry about traffic. And no road noise. Totally quiet. Thanks for leaving the cabin in good shape. You guys are welcomed back anytime
