Planned a weekend retreat. Was concerned about a previous review so I reached out to the property owner. Mr. Foster returned my call immediately and assured me that that the cabin was nice and is cleaned after every use. We checked into the cabin this past weekend. It was clean, very nice and spacious! The cabin was stocked with everything you would need to prepare meals and everything you would need to clean and tidy up the place. The pictures of the cabin are accurate. Everything, except the deck. We were pleasantly surprised at the size, it’s a lot larger. It rained so we didn’t get the opportunity to use the Jacuzzi. The cabin is situated in a great location, no more than 10 minutes away from activities in Luray. We Zip lined and did an ATV tour. While on the ATV’s it began to storm. We didn’t have a problem reaching the cabin afterwards; however we were in SUV’s. Neither did we have a problem with mud or being covered with mud at the cabin. Last but not least, Mr. Foster is a very responsible owner. He was available whenever I called and didn’t seem to be annoyed with my many questions. Thank you Mr. Foster! We enjoyed ourselves, had an awesome weekend and plan to return next year!!!
This cabin was an exceptional place to stay if you are planning a getaway to the Luray/Shenandoah area. We went for a hike at White Oak Canyon in SNP (excellent waterfalls), went tubing another day, and enjoyed fishing and swimming at Lake Arrowhead the third day. I have rented several cabins in the Luray area over the past few years and this was one of the best. It is only 10 or 15 minutes outside of Luray, but is private with only a few neighbors scattered along the hillside and isolated by the forest. It was very clean, incredibly spacious, and offers some nice views off of the back deck. The linens were nice and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms and kitchen were very clean with modern fixtures/appliances (the master bath is incredible). The hot tub was perfect after a long hike. I would say this cabin is fairly new and is far from rustic. The roads leading to the cabin and the driveway are steep, but you do not need a 4-wheel drive to access this area in the summer. We had a small volkswagon and a 4-door sedan and didn't have any issues getting in and out of the driveway. If it is snowing, then a 4-wheel drive would be a good idea. The property manager/owner was helpful and gave us all the info we needed for a smooth arrival and other info for things to do in town. I would definitely come back to this cabin and recommend it to others as well!
Very Rustic- except beds, nice beds. We were here for 3 nights for a wedding. You must have 4 wheeler or suv, drive is very steep washed out drive with lots of mud. Only parking for two suv's and no street parking. No instructions, jacuzzi didn't look like it had been kept up ( think germs). You and car will get muddy. Very cheap linens and towels mildewed (bring you own). The oven had an inch of left over burnt stuff on the bottom and we were afraid to use. We didn't have hot water the first two days (nice owner did respond quickly) and only on the third did it work. The property is not cleaned between visitors, you get what the last person did to clean it ( good luck). The people before us left if dusty, oven gross, etc. If this is okay to you for $300/ night - then rent it. We just would like to give you a fair idea of what you renting, we would have appreciated a fair picture before renting. We hope this helps you make a informed decision.
We stayed in the cabin with 4 adults, 3 toddlers along with our two dogs. The home is prettier than in the pictures. It was super clean and we loved the spacious open kitchen and family room. We were able to have a fire in the pit under the stars each night and was secluded enough that the children were able to wander around the property. The only issue was that it rained two days and the stone/mud driveway was a mess. We just left our shoes outside the entire time so we didn't get the clay mud in the home. It would be helpful to add a washer and dryer to the home for situations like this. Overall we had a great time and would definitely come back and recommend to our friends!
We had three couples in the cabin for a three day weekend and had an absolutely amazing time. The house was just as described, very well equipped and had amazing mountain views. The hot tub on the deck was a nice touch, and the living area is spacious and inviting. Owners were pleasant and very helpful from booking to check-out. Overall a great experience and we can't wait to make this an annual trip!
The cabin was exactly as described. Great, relaxing place for our group to stay with beautiful mountain views. Plus a hot tub! We had a tiny snafu with the grill the first night but the owner promptly came out to fix it the next day and it worked like a charm the rest of the time. Would love to return!
