Located 1 mile from the 7 Springs Ski Resort entrance, this classic farmhouse was built in the late 1800's, and sits on 22 acres of family property. It has been family owned since the mid 1800's and most of the interior wall decor was found in the old barn across the street!!
When you have finished your day of adventures, come home and relax on the overstuffed sectional sofa in the living room while enjoying the 42' HDTV with surround sound, DirecTV programming, and a DVD player for the kids. Free WiFi is provided for your use.
When mealtime rolls around, gather the family around the large dining room table (seats 8) and serve a hot, tasty meal that was prepared in the new kitchen, with all the amenities. Just like home!
Upstairs you will find the 3 bedrooms and bath. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, and 32' HDTV with DirecTV. The second bedroom has a combo single/double bunk bed, and 32' HDTV with DirecTV. The third bedroom has a double bed, walk-in closet, and 20' TV with DirecTV.
Snow plowing the drive way is provided for your convenience. A gas grill is on-site during the summer months, and available for use in the winter, if you are brave enough! The outdoor stone fire pit is a real joy to use while viewing the surrounding apple orchard. When in season, you are welcome to pick all the apples you care to eat!!
This property has been passed down through several generations. Besides the Farmhouse there are 7 rental cabins dotted about the 20 acre valley. Most of these cabins have existing long term leases, some of which been here several generations as well.
The very close proximity to Seven Springs Ski Resort (1 mile to the main entrance) provides the best vacation value for your money. Our mountain home is ideal for winter ski vacations, holiday reunions, and weekend get-aways.
Nicely well appointed family home, nice to find all kitchen implements there, and a properly lived-in feel. Only drawbacks are being close to main road and single bathroom, but otherwise an ideal place to access Seven Springs and Laurel Hill park Owner lives close by and was around to be helpful as needed.
We stayed 4 nights over Thanksgiving - 2 young children, 2 parents, 2 grandparents. There was plenty of space and the kitchen was well set for our cooking spree - lots of pots, pans, baking gear, and accessories. The property is lovely with space to roam and hills to roll down. The hosts were responsive and very welcoming.
It is less than 5 minutes from Seven Springs, 20 from Fallingwater, and 30 from Ohiopyle. 10 minutes in the other direction brings you to Laurel Hill State Park, one of our favorite summer swim spots.
We hope to be back many times over, so please don't book over Thanksgiving! 😉
The property is very close to Seven Springs, but also far enough to feel secluded with a campfire.
We had a wonderful time here. The accommodations were quite adequate and comfortable. We were around 10 miles from town which was not the most convenient but was not bad either since we spent most of our time at the house. We would recommend this place.
We stayed for three nights during the Mother Earth News Fair and can't say enough good things about it. The price was very reasonable allowing us to stay for three nights. We were very close to the venue, the house was fabulous, and the care with which goes into their house is amazing! Sam told us some of the wonderful history of the house and my three children haven't stopped talking about it since. We definitely recommend staying in this vacation home away from home (except during the Mother Earth News Fair because we hope to be able to stay here each year from now on!)
Living near Pittsburgh, we wanted a long weekend trip without too far to go. We had our sister-in-law from Scotland visiting and wanted to show her the Laurel Highlands. Luckily we found this property! Sam was very helpful and provides everything in the farmhouse that you could need to make your stay perfect. The kitchen was very well equipped, the bedrooms comfortable, and it was the perfect spot to visit so many interesting places - Seven Springs, a winery, Ohiopyle State Park, Fallingwater and Flight 93 Memorial. We will definitely be back for another visit in the future!
