Welcome to St. Alban’s Vacation Home.
We are thrilled that you have found your way to St. Alban’s. Please have a look around while imagining yourselves nestled into our beloved summer retreat.
This converted church is indeed a special place. We see it as an adult oasis, a home away from home and a retreat for those needing a good break from city-life or the fast-paced work world. St. Alban’s is situated along a scenic country road just a couple of minutes from Annapolis Royal, in the heart of Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley. Our 2.5 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home has all the amenities, and more…including serenity, comfort and convenience!
The home, itself, boasts a fully equipped kitchen, spa-like bathroom, private bedrooms and old world charm with modern conveniences and spacious living. St. Alban’s has been professionally decorated, by us, with the modern vacationer in mind. Eating in? Enjoy professional grade cookware and high-end appliances. Dining out? We will provide you with our own personal recommendations of local cuisine.
St. Alban’s pastoral setting blends perfectly with the natural beauty of the Annapolis Basin and the Lequille River. For the hiker or cyclist, there is much to explore. If you wish to spend a day “in town” there is lots to see and do in Annapolis Royal. Take in a sweeping view of the beautiful Annapolis Basin from the centre of Annapolis Royal at Fort Anne, Canada’s oldest national historic site. There are shops, historical walks, a beautiful waterfront, and much more. The Annapolis Valley is also home to some of the best and most interesting antique shops in Nova Scotia. Be sure to take Route 1 heading to Bridgetown and visit some of our favourite shops such as ‘The Green Barn’, ‘Treasures and Collectibles’ (hi to Norm) and especially ‘Summer House Antiques’ (tell Eric we sent you). As you can tell, there is no shortage of things to see and do during your stay at St. Alban’s Vacation Home. But if all you are looking for is time away to relax and unwind, then St. Alban’s is perfect.
We invite you to experience what we can only say is “the best decision we have ever made!

St. Alban's church has become our go-to place to stay in the Annapolis Valley. The interior and amenities are simply stunning, including the decor. The location is wonderful. The site manager is very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for someone visiting Southern Nova Scotia. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Truly a gem!
We spent eight nights at St Albans and experienced not only a beautiful a home away from home but also a lovely area to explore during the best of the fall season. The church has been beautifully restored to retain all the best features while providing a modern kitchen, bathroom and living areas. Some of the highlights for me were the lovely kitchen which overlooked the expansive living areas and the very friendly and welcoming feeling in the church. I also love the bits and pieces which seem to have been collected from all over the world and used to decorate in a charmingly eclectic way which provides the colour in what is by necessity (it being a church) a fairly dark interior. We also loved the little mezzanine sitting area which provides a great reading nook. The internet was reliable and quick and although there was no TV we enjoyed the opportunity to read more in the evenings. A couple of small niggles were that at times it was a bit dark to see what you are cooking/eating which a little more lighting in the kitchen would help with and a lack of a plug in the downstairs bathroom. I felt sure there was one somewhere but couldn't find it, however, we knew that if it became a real issue the wonderful property manager, Debbie, would rush over with a replacement. The area provided lots of wonderful opportunities to practice my photography skills inspired by local photography Dan Froesse who hangs out/works from the Sissiboo cafe which provides great coffee for Annapolis Royal - if you like coffee it is a must visit. The Kejimkujik National Park is also a must visit in the area as is St Anne's fort and some beautiful local walks/hikes. Highly recommended for at least a week's visit.
This is such a unique property, very comfortable, quiet and a great location for exploring Digby Neck and the Annapolis valley. We loved coming back here in the evenings. The property manager was very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again when we return to the area.
The "church" is a fabulous home and a great place to stay while exploring all Nova Scotia has to offer. It is conveniently located near the historic town of Annapolis Royal. Both the home owner Christopher and property manager Debbie were attentive and a pleasure to chat with. The home is well equipped including a washer and dryer and all the usual comforts of home. Be sure to go to the Ghost Walk at Fort Anne at 9:20pm to learn more about the history of this beautiful region.
Loved our stay at the church. The building us so estitically pleasing. Well appointed with interesting decor and furnishings. The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of activities for varied interests. Excellent support from the property managers and the local merchants were so friendly and generous. The church easily accomdated our group of 6 adults. I would highly recommend this property.
We were welcomed with a loaf of homemade bread and a jar of homemade strawberry jam. Both were delicious. Our family that stayed at other places were jealous of our accommodations. There were 13 of us in Nova Scotia for a family reunion and we had several enjoyable dinners at the converted church. Thank you for a wonderful experience.!
