About Erica K.
An entrepreneur by nature, I have enjoyed the freedom and flexibility that a self directed path can provide. I have loved to travel and annually embark upon both a beach vacation and an exotic destination in a far away continent - you will find exotic mementos from my travels adorn Villa BlancaMariposa and inspire the eclectic sampling of the world within. Growing up in Tucson in this very property, I wanted to name my special bungalow to honor my connection to my mother, my family and the heritage of the house, hence the name Villa Blanca which means white house - where my friends said I lived as a kid. While home in Tucson, I love to landscape, You will see me working on my properties tending to the mesquite trees, Peruvian apple cactus a native willow or assisting guests at Villa Blanca and other homes. I have always enjoyed cooking - entertaining friends and family and hosting many social events, and look forward to hosting you during your stay in Tucson!
Erica K. purchased this Bungalow in 2010
Why Erica K. chose Sam Hughes
My parents were renting the carriage house house in the 1960's while attending the University of Arizona. Reading an ad in the paper the original owners of Villa Blanca - had listed it for sale - it turned out to be my parents landlords - who enjoyed the young couple so - and sold it to my parents over another buyer. With the assistance of my Grandmother for a down payment, My mother and father moved to the front house and raised us girls - in 2010 Villa Blanca passed through the generations from my grandmother, mother and sister to my self - for me to share with you as Villa Blanca.
What makes this Bungalow unique
I love Villa Blanca with all of my heart - it is a beautiful home full of warmth and truly does hold every memory in life - Christmas trees, Easter bunnies, Thanksgiving Dinners, watching sesame street while laying on the living room floor, cartwheels in the front yard - giggling with friends - walking to school - having breakfast at Rincon market, bicycling to the UofA. Now it's your turn to make some memories and experience the warmth and love of a family home known as Villa Blanca.

Villa Blanca Mariposa is a lovely oasis in the middle of the Sam Hughes neighborhood. It is close to everything, but you may not want to leave because the house itself is beautifully decorated, extremely well-appointed, and very comfortable. The enclosed garden is a bonus and we enjoyed watching hummingbirds in the mornings and evenings. The off-street, covered parking was also a plus.
The owner, Erica is attentive and gracious. From the welcoming gifts to her extensive restaurant recommendations to the help she gave us as we apartment hunted, she could not have been more thoughtful.
I will look forward to visiting Villa Blanca Mariposa again the next time we are in Tucson.
Fantastic house, excellent host!
We had a fabulous stay at Erica’s property from start to finish! She was absolutely wonderful and far exceeded my expectations! We will definitely rent from her again!!
The very best!
Beautiful. Everything you need and more. Plus Erica, the most fabulous and delightful host ever.
Comfy and Creative Casita
We used this casita (one side of a duplex) as our base during our six day exploratory trip to Tucson and it did not disappoint. Our host pulled out all the stops to make us feel special and welcomed, the house is comfortably and creatively furnished with everything you would ever need and it is in Tucson's desirable Sam Hughes neighborhood which is centrally located with easy access to multiple venues. The king sized bed and pillows were very comfortable (always a big plus), and the neighborhood is quiet at night.
Historic Tucson Shines
Begin with an adorable, cozy one-plus bedroom exquisitely appointed with comfy touches and modern amenities close to U of A, add covered garage parking, a private patio with gas barbecue with outdoor dining area for a dozen or more guests and you have selected the perfect home. More importantly are the detailed and thoughtful care by Erica, the owner who welcomed you with a bottle of wine, chocolates and other personalized greetings. If there were more than five stars available, it would be justified.
5 stars in Sam Hughes!
We had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous 1920's home in Sam Hughes. The house is light and bright, comfortably appointed with everything you need for your stay. Our host thought of everything, plus things we didn't think of! Parking is ample, and you're right on the bus line if you don't have a car. A short walk east takes you to Rincon Market and Tumerico; to the west is the U of A campus. We will definitely be back!
