About Melissa Levis

The Levis family has owned the Wilburton Inn & 8 Vermont vacation properties since 1987. We are a creative family that loves working together and welcoming travelers. Because we are a close family, we especially enjoy hosting multi-generational family reunions.

Innkeeper Georgette Levis, was the sister of Lazard CEO Bruce Wasserstein and beloved Broadway playwright Wendy Wasserstein. Guests are always surprised to see the huge Sisters Rosensweig poster in the inn’s living room. Georgette's fnick-name was Gorgeous and she inspired Madeleine Kahn's Tony award winning role in Wendy’s Broadway hit.

Patriarch Albert is a psychiatrist from Athens, Greece. He is the founder of Moral Science, the curator of The Museum of the Creative Process, and enjoys discussing conflict resolution, religion, and psychology with guests.

The 4 Levis children include

Tajlei: an Andover, Columbia, and NYU law school grad who lives in NYC and is writing the Broadway bound musical adaptation of the TV classic, Green Acres.

Melissa: a Middlesex School, Brown University and NYU award-winning songwriter entertained thousands of NYC preschoolers with her band Moey’s Music Party. Melissa is delighted to be the new Maria Von Trapp and Vermont singing innkeeper.

Oliver: a Cornell grad (where he met his wife Bonnie) Together they founded Earth Sky Time Community Farm & Bakery, a thriving organic farm 3 miles from the inn. Their breads are a delicious part of the Wilburton inn breakfast and their organic farm night dinners every Wednesday in summer are not to be missed!

Max: a Columbia, Harvard Divinity School and soon to be Boston University PhD. Max is the family intellectual and could have been a wonderful rabbi but instead chose to be a scholar and innkeeper. Max collaborates with Albert to pioneer an on-line program of emotional education and self-knowledge.

The 3rd Generation ranges from Theo, a 15 year-old NYC hispter to Oliver and Bonnie's upcoming baby this Spring!

Why Melissa Levis chose Manchester

This house is located on a spectacular, historic, 30 acre hilltop estate with phenomenal views of the green mountains. It is off the main road so guests can truly relax and truly get away from it all, yet it is centrally located in the heart of Manchester Village - just 1 mile to Hildene and the Equinox Hotel

This is a fantastic accommodation that was built for a country inn and adapted into a private home by adding a brand new kitchen and living room. Every room has a separate lock, full bathroom, private entrance and TV plus there's a brand new kitchen and living room.

What makes this house unique

The Wilburton Inn combines the privacy of a home with the amenities of a country inn. We also have a farm, museum, restaurant, bar, pool, and tennis. Excellent central location in beautiful Manchester with a historic grand estate.

We can cater your events at the house through our inn.

You can tour our organic farm and bakery 3 miles from the house. Enjoy the Museum of the Creative Process sculpture trail that retraces myths and the matriarchs on our 30 acre estate.

Pefect for a family gathering

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous stay at Equinox View Villa! Our family is difficult to book for: my mother is in a wheelchair and needs other special equipment, my sister and I have 4 young kids between us, and we all like a bit of privacy amidst our together time. This villa was perfect! Every room has its own modern bathroom. Upstairs 1 bedroom has more privacy (including a separate entrance) and the other 3 share a hallway so parents can easily check on kids at night. The downstairs is handicapped accessible -- including 1 fully accessible bed and bathroom, a second bedroom, communal living room, large kitchen, laundry room, and a wonderful patio with a grill and large dining table. There is a large lawn for kids to run around on and the view of Mt. Equinox is unbeatable. Plus the Wilburton Inn has a nice swimming pool, tennis courts (with equipment to rent), and very friendly staff. It couldn't have been better!

Family reunion!

  • 5 of 5

The Equinox Views Villa at the Wilburton Inn was perfect for our family reunion. We had two families with children (ages 5-11) and our mother who is in a wheelchair (and unable to stand at all). The downstairs handicapped accessible room was perfect for our mother, with the room next door close by in case she needed anything. The patio overlooked the beautiful green mountains and starry night skies. The pool kept the kids busy, as did the huge lawn which kept them running around all day long. The Innkeepers were extremely friendly and responded to any request we had (including a ladder to get a toy helicopter off the roof). Great place for a family reunion. Highly recommended!

Family reunion at Wilburton Inn, Vt

  • 5 of 5

We just finished our fifth summer stay at the fabulous Wilburton Inn. This time we stayed at the Equinox View house which was perfect for our large family of 10 adults and 3 small children. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all updated and very clean and quiet. Nearby swimming pool and tennis court were great to keep the little ones busy. Although there is a TV in every room, we never used them. Plan to stay there for many years to come.
