We enjoyed our stay at this farmhouse! Jamie was very easy to get in touch with and came to greet us when we arrived. He was really friendly and informative. The town of Milford has everything you need and some good places to eat. Its an easy 10 or so minute drive away. Supermarket, pharmacy, liquor stores, shopping and restaurants from a casual diner to expensive fancy. The house was clean and pretty and full of so many interesting books & antiques. The views out of every window were BEAUTIFUL. The waterfall on the property can be heard from the bedrooms facing that side. There was a pretty man-made waterfall, a nice koi pond where our son fed the fish, a picnic table and fire pit outside. A swing on the front porch, and a stocked kitchen. Its side by side with a horse farm and there were 3 beautiful horses out there, we woke up to the view of them outside our window in the morning. We took this trip to visit some nature and waterfalls in the area, both Dingman's Falls and George W. Childs park were VERY close! (Dingman's Falls was more toddler friendly!) All in all, we enjoyed the house, it was conveniently located if you dont mind driving a little. The area was gorgeous and full of beautiful views and nature, deer and streams and all that good stuff. Would absolutely recommend a visit to this farmhouse and its awesome views!
As soon as we entered in the house, the expression came out from us was " what a beautiful, wonderful house it is". As our stay progressed the statement about the house held true infact, the joy and fun has increased as the moments passed in this house. Wonderful view, waterfall magical sound, fully loaded amenities, beautiful outdoor fireplace. It was truely, fun filled, memorable experience.
My wife and I had a lovely stay at the farmhouse. We each had a week off from work, so we spent a few nights at this house in the Poconos. Jamie was very quick to meet us, and even gave us a dozen fresh eggs from his chickens (raised at a different location), and then otherwise he let us be. The eggs were much appreciated, as the kitchen has an excellent stove and we made plenty of use of it. We also made plenty of use of the fireplace, the stereo system, and the comfortable leather couches. Basically, what we wanted from this brief vacation was to relax, read, and stay in a house that's a little nicer than our own home; mission accomplished. As a bonus, there are hikes that we could walk to from the house, and plenty more a short drive away. The only minor complaint we had was that the house is not very well sealed from ladybugs--but they're harmless, so it wasn't much of an issue. I definitely intend to stay again in the near future.
Every year we go away for the Christmas holidays with our two young daughters and my 70-something parents, for a multi-generational getaway from the hectic life in the city and some special, atmospheric "downtime". This year we were fortunate to come across this absolutely wonderful, charming, cozy farmhouse during our search for the perfect home away from home for the holidays. We already had a positive feel for the home, both from the pictures on the website and the glowing reviews from others that had stayed there previously. Still, we were very pleasantly surprised at how truly wonderful and special the home is. Just this morning, I woke up to read by the fireplace, watch the sunrise through the forest across the street, with horses grazing just outside the picture window. We were particularly happy and surprised to find wonderful hiking trails almost immediately in the vicinity -- some just across the street (literally), and others just down the road which included a gorgeous hike through forest, by a lake, and ultimately to a gorge with cascading waterfalls and an old mill. The town of Milford and its charms and conveniences is just a 10 minute drive away so while we enjoyed the peace and quiet of country living, we also treated ourselves to some fine dining, and leisure time to browse the many antique shops and bookstores. Jamie, the owner, was a delightful host -- he was responsive and accommodating and helpful, even meeting us upon arrival in the middle of an absolute downpour to give us a brief tour of the house and with a welcoming fire ready to go in the fireplace. The house is full with wonderful antiques including an amazing collection of books. We are looking forward to our next stay to further explore and to relax in the beautiful home and surroundings. Overall -- an amazing experience and home and we can't recommend the home enough!
Beautiful home. My family enjoyed hanging out in every room of the house. My little ones loved to explore the grounds, and the fire pit was the perfect end to the night.
My husband and I stayed at the farmhouse for the month of July while we were relocating to Milford. It's an amazing place. Wonderful grounds and waterfall, quiet. The farmhouse is a dream of beautiful antiques and all the amenities from amazing library, music, movies and fully stocked even to plush towels and soap. Jamie is delightful, giving all the privacy you want and a very funny and informed conversationalist. We were completely happy while we stayed there and were very sad to leave. We would go back in an instant. Kate and Leland
