About Carolyn Yovan

Welcome to my home! I am an artist, entreprenuer, and designer. I have a passion for home decor and have turned my home into a playground full of eclectic pieces from my travels all over the world. Our home is our haven when not traveling. I created an atmosphere of casual elegance, combining all of the comforts of home with top of the line designer amenities. Inside or out, I have turned this truly unique home into a place full of happy memories. Being a social butterfly I have always opened my home to friends and family. Now I am opening it to you with the hopes that you and your family can share magical times here as we have over the years. I am a perfectionist whether in business or pleasure and take pride in taking care of all of the details that make a house a home. Being in interior design, I have incorporated my 'business' throughout the house. You will see my artwork and product that I developed and sold live On Air on HSN and QVC. Artwork that I have transfered onto the walls to create the look of hand painting! You will also see signs of my life.... my beautiful 12 yr old son and Our Golden Retriever. So, while I am open to being pet friendly I do appreciate well behaved animals and will be discriminant given the fine selection of furnishings around my home. I am sure if you come to visit you will fall in love with our laidback lifestyle and artistic atmosphere. I truly wish you all happy holiday and welcome you into my home for an experience you will not soon forget! Cheers! Carolyn Yovan

Why Carolyn Yovan chose St Pete Beach

I have lived all over the country. I grew up in CT, went to school in Boston, moved out to AZ and ended up in FL for business. I have also lived in CO. When I am not skiing or hiking, I love the beach! Since business brought me here, I did not consider being anywhere but on the beach! A nature lover and outdoors enthusiast, I just had to be on the open water. St Pete Beach was the perfect location. So much to do, laidback and definitely one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to. What could be better than watching both sunrise and sunset from my back porches sparkling on the water?? Fishing, swimming, boating, surfing.... you name it. We have it! YEAR ROUND!! Enjoy! :)

What makes this house unique

The convenient locations makes all rentals, shopping, restaraunts, galleries, festivals and more all a short walk or drive away. Rent scooters, bikes, kayaks, fishing gear and enjoy the water right in your back yard!

My favorite morning ritual is coffee on the dock and my favorite evening ritual is watching the sunset from the hammock to some mellow tunes. How relaxing!

The house was great, really beautiful and a great location. The beach entry pool was great for my elderly mother and 2 year old grandson. The beach was minutes by car. Also enjoyed fishing from the dock.

Great Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at the house with our three kids during Spring Break (ages 2, 7, 9). The house was very comfortable, the neighborhood quiet, and the outdoor setting peaceful. Our kids loved relaxing on the decks, playing in the pool, and fishing off the dock each night. We were able to see dolphins, birds, rays, and other sea life just off the dock. It was very conveniently located a short drive (or long walk) to the Public Beach access as well as a nice grocery store. Heather was very accommodating and friendly during our time before, during and after our stay. Our deposit was returned promptly and in full. We would definitely stay here again should we come back to the St Pete area.

Would stay longer next time!!

  • 5 of 5

The house is an oasis; other than for food and refreshments you never really need to leave! The beds are very comfortable, the porches are great to dine or hang out on; everything that you need is there. We appreciated the spaciousness of the house, and the elevator came in very handy for taking luggage up and down. Cranes, pelicans and other wildlife float in and out of view during the day. While the St. Pete's Beach area can be busy, the area where the house is located is VERY peaceful, and the house is within walking or short driving distance of everything that we needed for the week--in particular a Publix grocery store and other convenience shopping, a small park for our little one to play in and of course the beach. Check out Cafe Soleil in the neaby shopping plaza which opened the day that we arrived. Great French bakery, wonderful people, great coffee and food. The pool and pool area are fantastic. The walk-in pool feature was great for our 2-1/2 year old, who is just getting acclimated to being in pools. It's a unique pool, very fun to swim or just float in. We had an issue with the pool spa while we were there but Chris took care of it immediately and checked on us several times to make sure that everything was ok. He even promised us sun and it worked!

Beware, they don't return the full deposit

  • 2 of 5

House was nice. Unfortunately, it came with the owners staying in the downstairs apartment for most of the week. This included their dog, who when nature called simply took care of business, so to speak, right on the dock or by the pool. Picking up dog poo was certainly not part of our family vacation plans, nor was spending time with the owners nearly daily. You would expect a house that is this expensive to be handled with a little more class. Also, buyer beware on the deposit. We got ours back less $500, with no explanation. When we emailed them about this, they replied that it was a $500 charge for heating the pool. Oops, we didn't heat the pool. After making them aware of this, their new explanation was that, oh yeah, you didn't heat the pool, but the place was trashed and their was a hole in one of the comforters. Huh? We basically cleaned the place ourselves, and there was no hole in any comforter. And how do these things match up with the original explanation of a pool heater charge? Anyhow, nice place, nice area, bad owners. We've already booked a similar home for next year in the same area with owners who come well recommended.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry to say, but perhaps our guests missed a few key facts. First of all, when our rental fell through I offered our guests a SIGNIFICANT discount if they were ok in allowing us to stay in the completely separate studio, which they were happy to Agree to. Secondly, anytime our 13 year old Golden Retriever was in sight they called her over, played with her and said she was a welcome addition and to let her stay! When I tried to retrieve her they chatted with me asking me questions, offered me a drink and clearly were happy to chat. Having spent much time in Italy it is customary for the owners to play host, so I am confused as to how our guest have turned a seemingly pleasant night around. As for the deduction in their deposit, to say they cleaned the home is a complete fabrication that I am truly offended by. They left the home in such disarray it looked like a frat house and literally brought me to tears. My cleaners took double the time to get the house AND property back in order for the next guests. Finally, they DID use the hot tub, WITHOUT paying and DID create significant damage to almost every room in the home. I only chose to cover the extra cleaning bill since I did not want to create a situation. But, finding bottles in bushes, food in my custom sofas and evidence of illegal drug use is certainly NOT part of the Rental Agreement. Enough said. I am sorry that their distorted version of the facts are allowed to be spoken in this forum, but I will not allow such behavior in my home and am disheartened that adults chose to tarnish what they clearly said was a WONDERFUL week at my property. I certainly wish luck to the next property owners that they booked with and have learned that no matter how much one screens potential renters, it does not necessarily mean that they are truthful or responsible.

Beautiful Home!!!!

  • 1 of 5

The home was stunning. Plenty of space and all accommodations of being in your own home. Getting your full deposit back was a different story, the owner and cleaning staff stated the people before us "trashed" their home. We were then shorted $250.00 for a comforter that had a hole in it. This did not happen from our stay. WE have traveled to the St Pete area for 16 years this is the first bad experience.

Owner's Response: Stacey and her party had an excellent stay at our home. They did however damage a very expensive comforter, for which they were charged less than a 1/4 of it's value. We only charged half of the fee for heating the hot tub. We offered to refund half of the $250 and she refused. This would have brought the charges down to $75 less than the agreed upon hot tub fee. We try to accommodate and be very fair with all of our guests. Hard to understand how someone could complain about receiving more of a refund than they were entitled to. In the 3 years of renting out our home this is the first negative review. Chris & Carolyn

Outstanding Vacation Home!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and our two little girls, ages 5 and 2, just spent six days at this wonderful home for spring break. The house was beautiful, spacious, and in immaculate condition and we really were able to just relax. We loved this home and hope we can visit there again!
