HI! When I am not running my business, I am a projects guy- I love fixing up my vacation home rentals in Key Largo Florida.
The renovation team consists of us- fun-loving couple that are passionate about life, sailing, kayaks, music & art, and our wonderful black lab that travels everywhere with Giana.
We have hosted guests from all over the world in our Brooklyn, NY home since 1992 and now in Key Largo Florida and the Pocono Mountains of PA.
We love kayaking & fishing all through the waters of Key Largo and Jamaica Bay in Brooklyn, biking along the bike paths of Key Largo, or Prospect Park, Brooklyn, snorkeling at John Pennecamp State Park.
We love traveling, and with that comes learning languages - we speak a little German and Italian and speak Hebrew fluently.
We are involved in many projects where we can spread compassion and generate good. They tend to mesh and outgrow from our interests and projects.
We are involved in the Arts- both creating and supporting. I play accordian and Giana, the piano. Our movie tastes range from Casablanca to Under the Tuscan Sun- then again, they are both love stories:) We both love to cook, especially with friends & family.
What's it like having us as hosts? First, we do this because we enjoy it- meeting new people, making people happy and sharing the great things our three towns have to share. We most of the time will meet you at the door, hot coffee, ice water or beer/wine to share.
Our places have plenty of space, communal and private, porches, gardens, indoor kitchens and outdoor BBQs.
We both enjoy meeting new people and helping with making our places a good retreat. Giana had worked in the health care field and now her 'patients' are renovating our places and decorating! We are always doing something- gardening, new colors, adding a new kitchen tool
Giana Shiloh purchased this house boat in 2006
Location! We looked throughout the Keys and this end of a quiet street is our lil' piece of paradise: canal full of manatee, bay view and of the Southern Everglades, beautiful kayaks & biking, our beautiful homeowner park beach, walking distance to the farmer's market, grocery and shopping, John Pennecamp coral reef State Park, Dagney Botanical Park,
We fixed up with porcelain tile, big showers, bidets, outdoor kitchen, tropical colors, easy in-out kind of living, loaded the land with tropical fruit trees, flowers, jasmine vines, orchids and palms.
My Daughter and I stayed at the Manatee Queen and we had a wonderful time. What a great value and fun place to visit. The property was very clean, well furnished and everyone was very accommodating from start to finish.(Maggie and Bob were Great local Host) Went out on the Kayak and seen Dolphins and other wildlife when we were not scuba diving with our group.
We would definitely stay here again.
The only thing that wasn't perfect was a noisy neighbor (memorial day weekend) this could have been the case anywhere and it was only one night.
I have a hard time believing any reviews of this place that are positive are legitimate. Here are just a few of the multitude of things wrong about this pkace. No locks, No covering for window on door which opened right into area where bed was, very little lighting (none at all where beds were), air conditioner is so loud it is impossible to sleep and it is so hot with no fresh air that air must be on all the time, big cockroaches, palmetto bugs, crawling on wall at night, no comfortable seating anywhere on whole boat, tiny little freezer area in boat refrigerator all frosted over so no chance of ever having any ice, non stop barking from the multiple dogs in neighborhood, three or four old worn mis-matched salvation army or garage sale towels provided, no privacy, there was one beat up old chaise in one tiny area of sun for three rental units, and on and on. The other renerds that shared the "private dock" felt the same way and felt that this property was misrepresented on the Websites it advertises on. We left after one night. The owner returned our deposit but we lost four nights prepaid and shelled out another $1000, to find a room during peak season in Key Largo. What a dumP Run, do not walk, as far away from this place as you can! I have never written a review like this before and we are pretty low maintenance travelers.
Two of us stayed on Silver Moon house boat for a week. Saw manatees (a lot of them) in the canals, went to mangrove forest across the bay - beautiful!
There was enough gear for vacation - grill, kayaks, bikes. There is car rentals nearby, but we did not need a car.
Giana and Chanoch were super friendly and helpful.
Very peaceful neighborhood, there is a supermarket and farmers market nearby (10 minutes on a bike), so we did not go to restaurants too often. Mexican (Dolores) food in the trailer at farmers market was awesome. WiFi worked like a charm.
Our place is full of nature, manatee, easy kayak to the Southern Everglades, beach and still walking distance to the grocery, farmer's market and local shopping. We provide kayaks and bikes for our guests to enjoy both the land and water.
