Wonderful!! Couldn't' be better

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time, enjoyed every minute!! Wish it could have been longer. The accommodations were superb, very peaceful, and relaxing. It was everything we wanted, and more. The house was very clean and maintained. The location was accessible to all.

We would love to book again, and would recommend to any of our friend. We especially enjoyed the local seafood on RT302, i.e. Bob's--bought fresh lobsters there, and prepared them baked stuffed. Also enjoyed our first meal on Saturday evening there. Did lots of touring in the area, enjoyed the coastline, drove to Mt. Washington and rode the cog railway. My son and daughter had not experienced it.

As a reminder, the ceiling lights in the master and downstairs bedrooms both had burnt out ceiling light bulbs.

Thank you for the wonderful stay at your lake house.

A picture is worth a thousand words !!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I usually spend time in the summer in western NC mts. to escape the TX heat. This year we visited Maine and stayed for a week at the Cowan home on Lake Sebago. It was delightful..clean, off the beat'en path and well furnished with a fantastic view of the Lake !

We would highly recommend...John

Amazing vacation, incredible vacation property!!

  • 5 of 5

If there were more stars to give this property, I would absolutely give it 10 stars. I was impressed with this property on the HomeAway site, but when I arrived it far exceeded my expectations. It was equipped with every comfort I have in my own home, all that was needed were your clothes and food for the week. The property was totally spotless when we arrived. You could want for nothing at this property, the view of the lake, sandy beach, the kayaks, the paddle boat, the flotation devices, grill, even a bundle of wood to get you started for the amazing fire pit. We had a fire in the fire pit on the gorgeous patio every night, it was the perfect opportunity for four adult siblings and spouses to relax and reminisce. I would, and hope to rent this property again!! P.S. The owner of this property couldn't be any more accommodating, and the fact that he allowed dogs was a major plus for us as well. Thank you so much Dave, look forward to renting your property again soon!!

Perfect location & great house!

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect house! The location is great - you can kayak, swim, and paddle board safely from the dock because there is not a lot of boat activity in the area. The house was very clean and had all the amenities needed for a perfect vacation. We rented stand up paddle boards from the Sebago Kayak Company for the week - reasonable rates and they deliver to the house for free. Plenty of area restaurants and Portland is close enough for day trip or evening dinner. We would definitely rent this home again!

Wonderful Week on Lake Sebago

  • 4 of 5

Overall, everything was great. The pictures are exactly as it appears. The place is very clean and on a secluded part of the lake so the boat traffic is minimal. The house is very well stocked with everything you would need. If I had one complaint, it's that it stated there is air conditioning, which there is, BUT only in the upstairs main living area, not the bedrooms (two of which are downstairs). Truthfully, the weather was so nice, we only needed to run the air 1 or 2 of the 7 days we were there, but I felt that was necessary to disclose. Overall, the place is great and it's hard not to have a wonderful vacation there. Loved the proximity to the town of Windham for all the little items you find yourself needing when renting a house.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review. The home does have air conditioning on the main level where there are two bedrooms. The air conditioner cools the entire floor to what ever temperature is chosen. The lower level with one bedroom typically stays cool due to the fact that the back wall is below grade ( a geothermal effect ) and the excess cool air from upstairs tends to travel down the staircase. Over the years I have chatted with guests about their stay and the temperature of the lower level has never been a problem.
