Winning location, fantastic facility!

Just returned home yesterday after our long weekend stay. Three couples easily accommodated. All bedrooms have their own private shower/bath, plus a half bath off the great room for guests and convenience. Master on first floor looked nice, but my wife and I stayed in one of the upstairs bedrooms. We were in the on at the top of the beautiful wooden staircase. It had a queen bed, flat panel tv, dresser, spacious closet, and full bath with glass sides. The other bedroom down the hall was similar, except slightly larger and had two queen beds in it. When it was time to retire from a long day of shopping and wine tasting, each room was fairly well sealed off and private. My only negative in regard to the rooms is that from within our bedroom, you could easily hear people in the kitchen or great room area. I don't know if there is anything that the owner could do about that, though, as it seemed to be mostly a function of acoustics and architecture.

We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor area off the back of the house. The pool and Jacuzzi were clean and the water was perfect. There is plenty of seating and outdoor furniture, and the space is expansive. We didn't use the grill, but it seemed like a nice one and I could see us using it on a future stay. While in the backyard, if you make an effort you can look over the privacy fence to see your neighbor to the east is a large property with a few animals on it, like goats and horses. The home on that property is set back quite a ways away, so we felt very private. To the north (just jump over a two foot high stone wall) are a few acres of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Very beautiful and serves as a constant reminder that you are in the heart of the Napa Valley. Your neighbor to the West is an Equestrian Center, another large, spacious property. From my bedroom window, I could see the horses (and occasionally hear a faint whinny). Although you can't see it from the back yard area, it is worth mentioning that to the south of Maison de Oliviers, there is a detached three car garage, and a long driveway. The house is set back from the street by a good couple hundred yards. To sum it up, the house is practically an island from contact with others, which is great but even better when you realize how close you are to everything else. It's seclusion within the heart of activity, as the location is within a mile of HWY 29, Whole Foods, etc. Thanks for sharing this property with us, Ellie!

Quintessential Napa Holiday

  • 5 of 5

This property exceeded expectations from the moment you pull in the drive.  With the vineyards surrounding the property and horse and hobby farm neighbors you feel like you are in your own country estate in the valley, however its location to wineries to the north no more than 30 minutes away or a 5 minute drive to Oxbow Market and Napa downtown you are close to everything.  Inside marble bathrooms and open kitchen appointed with granite and stainless appliances impress, however furnishings are comfortable, warm, and welcoming to relaxing by the fireplace.   A rare property with each bedroom having a private bathroom with walk in showers and closets is beyond that of hotels or a bed and breakfast, all allowed us to stay together as a group but not give up privacy or comfort.  From the outdoor pool and hot tub, views of the Mayacamas mountain range in the west above Yountville allow glimpses of hot air balloons in the morning and sunset in the evening.  If the property was it, I would stop here, however I have to mention it’s owner Ellie.  She went above and beyond, going out of her way to make sure our group had the best experience possible by taking care of many inquiries, offering assistance at any notice, and extreme personal generosity.  I found this a mark of a professional, yet she became a true friend as we enjoyed our tour and tasting she offered at her new winery Eleven Eleven. Located a few miles from the house, an exquisite building refinished with reclaimed wood and barrels they have created a great space.  In addition, they have crafted an excellent portfolio of wines with winemaker Kirk Venge, the son of legendary Nils Venge who had the first Napa cabernet to be rated 100 points by Robert Parker.  Kirk also responsibility for managing his own vineyard near Calistoga shows a testament to Ellie’s hardwork and belief in the cabernet grown around the house.  I personally enjoyed the Syrah with its good balance of structure and smoothness and also the excellent fuller bodied Rose, which immediately won over the women in our group when enjoyed lounging out back poolside.  All of these pieces came together to create a vacation experience for our group we will certainly not forget and intend to make an annual.  Saying it won’t simply be enough, but thank you Ellie. Our group is truly grateful and can't wait for our next visit.

Celebrated my 60th birthday in style in this lovely home. Even got to watch harvest very early in the morning. Perfect location for accessing wineries, Yountville, and downtown Napa. Will definitely be back!

Wine Country Wonder

  • 5 of 5

"Maison des Oliviers" will surprise and delight *any* visitor to the Napa Valley, offering both a stunning interior layout and a gorgeous pool and deck, with views across the vineyards clear to Mount St. Helena. The house is spacious and built to a very high spec -- with especially stunning bathrooms -- and the morning view from the master bedroom is nothing short of heaven. Amazingly, this private retreat is located just minutes to the north of central Napa. I would highly recommend this property to any couple or family / group of up to six persons; you'll love it, just as we did!

Fabulous Oasis for the Wine Country

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I along with two other couples stayed here for four days while we toured the Wine Country of Napa and Sonoma. It is a beutiful, well kept, enormous home with all of the comforts and spoils of a resort. The pool and hot tub were the perfect ending to fabulous days of drinking delicous wine. Thank you so much Ellie for all of the hospitality and letting us stay. We had a wonderful time and hope to return again.
