This original home built around 1910 has gone through many additions and renovations and even moved foundations. Located on a half acre fully fenced lot surrounded by a classic white picket fence the house exudes charm from first glance.
Totally gutted and remodeled in 2011 it boasts original heart pine floors and has eclectic charm but everything else is modern and convenient. Located 1 Mile to USNA stadium, downtown, and Eastport, it's ideally located for an Annapolis visit.
An open floor plan with a large gourmet kitchen, granite counters, GE Profile professional stainless appliances, copper sinks, and a large center island, this kitchen is a cooks dream yet it's open to the rest of the main floor so you, your family and guests can all interact.
French doors open to the wrap around porch and a slider off the kitchen to the back deck provide easy flow to the outside as well as access to the large professional gas grill. Speakers on the porch and throughout the house provide quiet listening enjoyment or tunes for entertaining.
Up the heart pine stairs with wooden oars for handrails to the second floor, you'll find the master suite and two guest rooms (one is currently a nursery but a comfortable queen air bed could be placed in there if needed.) The guest rooms share a brand new bath with travertine floors and walls and a Jacuzzi tub.
The master suite has heart pine floors, pickled bead board ceilings, a marble spa like bath with a double headed master shower, walk in closet with laundry, and private balcony.
The lower level bedroom, built in 2013, has a beautiful wood grain tile floor, wall mounted flat screen TV, and private bath with a custom tile shower. It has a queen sized bed and a twin day bed/sofa and sleeps 3.
My husband Joe and I love living in the Annapolis area. For years, I worked for the Chesapeake Bay Program working to protect and restore the Bay and Joe was a MD State Delegate.
About two years ago we quit our other jobs to form Bartlett Real Estate Solutions. Joe is a licensed expert general contractor and I am a real estate agent. Together we like to buy and remodel properties for resale. We recently had a baby and together with our dog, we spend as much time possible outside or on the water.
Kate Hopkins purchased this cottage in 2009
This house has one of the largest yards in the whole neighborhood. The indoors flows to the outside and it's perfect for entertaining. It's got a lot of old eclectic charm but is now totally updated, modern, and convenient. Located steps away from the headwaters of Spa Creek and the Truxton Park boat ramp, you could even call for a water taxi to get downtown. Everything you could want to see or do in Annapolis is very close by.
The house is bigger than it looks yet still has a charming and cozy feeling. With the large fenced yard, wrap around porch and back decks there's lots of room to hang outside either in the sun or cooling out under the wonderful porch fans. The kitchen is nothing short of a cooks dream. The interior style is very 'coastal living' with soothing blue and neutral hues and little touches like nautical style lighting and wooden oars for handrails.
We rented this home for our Mid's graduation/commissioning and it was everything we could have wanted. The home was beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished, the bathrooms were spacious and modern, the kitchen was well-appointed and gorgeous. Everything was clean and very well-maintained, the owner provided information about everything we needed - including directions to the nearest grocery and restaurants. We had planned a gathering for family and friends one night and were looking forward to utilizing the beautiful yard and comfortable porches, however it rained. But it was fine, we had adequate space for everyone indoors. We were only a short distance from the Yard and the stadium - close enough to run back and forth for the various events and errands - but out of the chaos of DTA. I would highly recommend this home for families for graduation/commissioning or parents' weekends - you'll feel right at home!
We could not have been more happy with our stay at this house. We were first time HomeAway renters so we were a bit nervous but we did our homework and had a great weekend. We enjoyed the house and beautiful wrap around porch and yard. It was the perfect spot for our pleb to relax after a very demanding summer in training. Plenty of great restaurants nearby but also cooked in the nice, gourmet kitchen. We were less than 10 minutes from the USNA and were able to go the back way by the stadium to avolid the traffic in downtown Annapolis. We also enjoyed kayaking on Spa creek from the rentals at Truxton park- just a 5 minute walk away. We even did the kayak tour of the harbour and enjoyed learning the history of the area.I would highly recommend this house and plan to rent it again in the future.
The house was perfect for our USNA Reunion Weekend. It was amazing to stay somewhere and have plenty of things to entertain the kids as well as a fenced in yard! The setup was wonderful for the two families. The owner was more than accommodating and we definitely recommend this property!
Situated steps from Truxton Park (pick up the water taxi at the boat ramp!), it's walking distance (~1 mile) to West Street shops and restaurants, USNA stadium, and Eastport. Central location but on peaceful cul-de-sac street with large fenced yard. Perfect for relaxing and entertaining.
