About Sandeep Nanda

I grew up in Dallas and currently live in Las Vegas. I went to Yale University and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

I have been married since December 2003 and I have a 7 year old son.

I lived in this condo from June of 2000 until June of 2002 and I loved living there.

Why Sandeep Nanda chose Austin

Me and four friends were sharing a house when we learned about the Rail-yards Condo complex.

We could not believe the location and price so three of us bought places and all five of us moved there.

We all split up and moved away a couple of years later and I told my friends not to sell their places because they would be worth a lot someday. But they did.

I held onto mine and since I left, they built the Austin Convention Center next door, a Marriott across the street and a bunch of cool restaurants and bars.

It really is an amazing location and I wish that I could still live there.

5-Star ***** My family of five adults stayed in the condo for four nights. The location is very good for visiting downtown. We had no car but were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. There is a Starbucks across the street and also a Marriott which allowed us to store our luggage until check-in time.



The condo was comfortable to stay in. With the exception of the pull-out sofa, the beds were comfortable and extra blankets and pillows were available. The showers were good and hot and more than enough towels were provided. Although we did not do any cooking, the kitchen seemed well equipped.



The pool area is small, but nice. We visited once on a weekday afternoon and we were the only ones there.



Sandeep (owner) was very easy to work with. He answered all my questions promptly. I would stay here again when visiting austin.

Perfect Location

We were a couple of couples hitting Austin for the first time. The condo two bed and bath was in the perfect location for us to explore 6th Street and hit the river greenway for morning runs. The owner was great to work with and had lots of suggestions for local fare. All in all a good place for a base camp...I'd recommend the condo to friends in the future!

Comfortable, convenient place!

Very clean and comfortable. Had all the essentials, like towels, sheets and toiletries that we needed to make our stay easy. Directions for how to get in were easy to follow. Also, very central downtown location, convenient access from the Convention center for SXSW activities, and was still being very peaceful inside the unit.

Prime Location

This location was prime for all the downtown things to do. Easy walking or short ride to places. The rental was a little tight for 6 girls but we really only slept there. The pull out couch could have been a little more comfortable. There was some loudness from surrounding neighbors and traffic at night but we were in prime downtown bar area so was expected. The owner left awesome suggestions of places to go so loved that. Would definitely come back.

Excellent rental in downtown Austin!

This is a terrific condo rental in downtown Austin, just steps away from the convention center and near a ton of great restaurants. The condo has two large bedrooms and 2 full-size bathrooms and a sizable living room and kitchen. Parking is included as well. The beds were super-comfortable and there is even a sleeper sofa if you've got extra people staying. The condo was clean, in great condition and the instructions I received were straightforward to follow. It's way less expensive than the other places I checked out nearby that have 2 bedrooms with kitchen. I'll definitley do AustinStays the next time I'm in Austin!

Great location, underwhelming accommodations

The location of this apartment is really top notch if you are seeking quick, walking access to bars, restaurants and downtown life. From the apartment, its a quick car ride to South Congress, Rainey Street or quick jaunt to "Dirty 6th." Location is easily the top selling point of this unit.

The apartment was fine but beds and couch are a bit dated and not the most comfortable to sleep on. It is obvious that the couch has been used for many years. Despite being on third floor, there is a lot of street level noise that you can hear-so if you have small children who wake easily, I'd have them sleep in the master bedroom. Unit was very clean and stocked with enough towels and sheets, pillows. There was also detergent available for washer and dishwasher if you need to run those appliances. Condo was a pretty decent size but not massive either. One major turn off for us was the 5pm check-in and 10am check-out. In our personal experiences, this is not in line with a normal check-in/out for a vacation rental (even a 4pm/11am would be within acceptable limits).

Although not the luxury boutique hotel feel that is advertised, it is certainly a fine apartment to make your weekend home. We were five early 30's friends trying to enjoy Austin for the weekend and it met most of our needs.
