Lodging Features: This superior four-bedroom+den/four-bath mountain lodge-style home features radiant heat throughout the entire house. At 4,000 square feet, this family home provides a spacious kitchen with island; adjacent to a grand rock wood-burning fireplace in the comfortable living room. The house has three TVs with cable, wireless internet access, and a spacious patio with BBQ. Perfect location for all things Sun Valley.
Complex Features: The home is part of a very private, secluded and upscale Lane Ranch Community. Lane Ranch is a traffic-restricted community, that shares access to a clubhouse, hot tub, summer swimming pool and tennis courts. The area offers a free shuttle that picks up just 4 blocks away which will transport you to both ski lifts on Bald Mountain, downtown Ketchum, Sun Valley Resort and Elkhorn Resort.
This property was the perfect get away. The house is in a great community that is close enough to town that you could ride bikes.
The house itself feels like home away from home. Nicely decorated with a western, but modern free. Large enough kitchen to manage feeding a small army.
This is the perfect get away.
This was by far the best home rental experience I have had ever between the owner and the home itself. Home was so lovely and spacious and extremely functional for all our skiing needs. I can't wait to come back and will recommend to all my friends. Geoff was so accommodating and great to work with. We especially loved the heated floors and friendliness toward allowing our dogs. We will be back very soon.
I have stayed at this lovely home twice in the last 3 years. Both in the summer months. The Lane Ranch Pool access is a big bonus as is the large kitchen and great room. The outdoor patio is very enjoyable as well! The location is perfect for dining out, skiers and golfers. The set-up with two in-suite bathrooms is great for two couples traveling together. Plenty of room for kids as well! Will book this home again!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this spacious, well-equipped and comfortable home. The beautiful view of snow and trees outside along with seeing beautiful elk one morning from the living room windows was such a treat. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a few big family dinners and the mud/laundry room is huge and perfect for storing all of our ski clothes, boots, etc. The master bedroom is spacious and comfortable and the overall decor of this house is very tasteful with much attention to detail. The owner was helpful and available as well. We would recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a spacious and comfortable place to relax and enjoy Sun Valley.
I had personally visited this house and several others in the area over a year before our family wedding vacation in September of 2014. I also met the homeowner, Geoff.
The main reason that I picked this house over the others was because of the lovely unobstructed view of the mountains and the quiet peaceful setting from the back yard and patio.
The house itself is beautifully rustic, conveniently located, very spacious, nicely furnished and met the needs of the 11 people staying there. It has a large functional kitchen, room to relax, ample beds and like mentioned above, had a great back patio and yard. The sleeping arrangements are geared more toward young adults or children as there are only two bedrooms without single or bunk beds. The openness made the noise resonate upstairs more than we had anticipated.
A new development was going in behind the house and the local water company had to tie into the existing water line, right beyond Geoff’s property line. For 5 days we listened to heavy equipment just 30 yards from the back patio that started at 7:30 AM and ran until 6:00 PM, totally disrupting the peaceful backyard setting.
To make matters worse, we ended up being without water for 3 consecutive days with the outages lasting between 2 & 6 hours. The outages were untimely and caused much stress and frustration because of the uncertainty of how long each would last and when the next one might occur.
Unfortunately, Geoff failed to disclose the construction project prior to our arrival. Once the construction started and I contacted him, he agreed to only act as an advocate for us with the water company and he took no responsibility as the homeowner to accommodate us. This terrible experience totally overshadowed any and everything to do with the house itself. When the water company failed to do anything for us (he wanted them to pay for our entire stay), he offered no compensation or even an apology for the inconveniences that we experienced.
