What makes this house unique

The home is very unique and NOT a typical rental property. The house has been painstakingly restored with a new architecturally sensitive addition. The result combines the best of old world charm and state of the art modern amenities. Every convenience and comfort has been taken into account. The physical location is

incredible. Literally walk to everything. You constantly are aware of the water and the nautical history and heritage of the Kennebunkport.

There are wonderful dining options, art galleries and shops within a 5 minute walk. The property is beautiful inside and out. The Williamsburg style grounds and landscaping are exquisite and represent a very unique feature of the property. Whether it's Spring, Summer, Fall or during Christmas Prelude the inside and outside of the house complement each other in a very unique and special way.

Unsurpassed design and hospitality

  • 5 of 5

Our third year in a row, and it only gets better. The minute we arrive we relax: the house is gorgeous, elegantly furnished, immaculate and on the most picturesque historic street in town. We feasted on seafood, played golf, went to the beach, rode bikes, took walks along the coast and enjoyed time with friends. It was, in short, a perfect vacation, and what made it perfect, above all, was staying in this house. Rich's taste is exquisite, and he is the nicest guy. As my mother said, he made exactly the house you would make for yourself if you only had the talent. I would follow him anywhere!

Amazing family experience!

  • 5 of 5

Our first trip to southern Maine was so special with luxurious accomodations in a beautifully restored captain's home. Rich and Steve have done such a spectacular job in making sure their guests have an adventure of a lifetime. Their home is beautiful with everything you need from beach chairs to comfortable beds, to blankets while sitting out on the patio in the cooler temps, to games for the kids...they have thought of everything to make one's stay perfect! Our family highly recommends the Rugosa lobster boat tour...so educational. Our grandkids and kids loved it! One of the highlights was going to St. Ann's Church the Sunday we were there and seeing former First Lady Barbara Bush! The church is a must see! Also, the house was close to town so we walked everywhere. Thank you, Rich and Steve, for helping us create such special memories! Rodger, Jill and family

We keep coming back!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third consecutive year staying at this fabulous home. The owners pay very special attention to detail, with so many amenities at your fingertips. They are very much responsive to all needs and concerned that we truly enjoy ourselves. This spacious home is well located in walking distance to downtown with only a few minutes drive to the beach, which has so many advantages.

The gorgeous grounds are so well maintained with beautiful plants and manicured lawn, and we spent many evenings barbecuing on the patio or eating lobster with all the seafood utensils provided in the house. The fact that we want to come back for a fourth year should speak volumes of how much we love the house and the whole experience.

Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place to celebrate family meeting together from all over the US and U.K. The home has everything you need and could possibly want, and Rich went out of his way to welcome us and guarantee a great time. Great location for walking to Dock Square and the river.

The Best!

  • 5 of 5

This is an incredibly beautiful home which has spoiled us relative to other vacation rentals. The rental process was quickly and easily done, and Rich and others were very accommodating. The house is not only beautiful but very bright and comfortable. Part of the house dates back to 1809; there's also a significant addition to the home and then total remodeling of the house so it flows well together and looks almost new. The kitchen had all the equipment and utensils you would ever need, including crackers for those great Maine lobsters. It's also in a terrific location and we could easily walk to restaurants, shopping, coffee, etc. The yard was also manicured beautifully. We now understand why this home has only been rated a 5.0. If we're up this way again, we would stay here again in a heartbeat.
