The Burrow is a luxury log cabin that sleeps 6-8. Located on a mountain at 3000 feet, the cabin has a covered front porch with a swinging bed and rockers; an open deck with gas grill and hot tub; and a full basement game room complete with cable TV, movie library, pool table, board games and books. Guests will enjoy sitting in the great room around the fireplace looking out the floor to ceiling windows to the mountains beyond. After you've worn yourself out exploring all the area has to offer you can fall into the lap of luxury with fine linens on the king size bed (BR1) or queen bed (BR2). A full size futon can accommodate two extra guests in the downstairs bedroom. A high speed wireless connection means you will stay in touch - if you want to! The cabin is surrounded by 5 acres of mountain forest so don't be surprised when you see deer and other mountain critters wander through the property. Relax in the hot tub or sit by the fire pit on the beautiful new flagstone patio.
My husband and I live in Melbourne, Florida but treasure our time in the North Carolina mountains - God's country! Since I was 5 years old I have vacationed at a family summer home in Boone, NC but in 2012 my husband and I decided to expand our horizons and purchased this mountain top home near Hendersonville. This area is new to us so be sure to include your favorite discoveries in your cabin reviews when you leave. Until we can retire and spend extended time at the cabin we want you to enjoy it. We hope you will find it a special place where you can rest, relax and explore.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2012

Memories of Life's Dash!!!!
This cabin was perfect. It was very clean and in a nice quiet area of Hendersonville NC. The beds were super comfy after I enjoyed the hot tub or jet tub. We also loved playing pool or just sitting outside listen and watching the birds. There was a bird feeder that was full of bird seed when we arrived so there were plenty birds for us. Loved this cabin and would highly recommend it.
If you're looking to get away to a nice, roomy cabin in the rural countryside, this is a great option. When we arrived, the cabin was clean. The bedrooms were really great -- very comfortable mattresses, luxury linens, and high quality comforters on the bed. We all slept wonderfully. Both bedrooms have a roomy attached 3-4 piece bathroom. The roomy master bedroom (king bed) is downstairs and the second bedroom (queen bed) is upstairs. The kitchen is well stocked for those who like to cook (it even included a hand mixer, slow cooker, blender, lots of cookware, tupperware, etc.). The basement /den area is really roomy with a pool table, large leather sectional sofa, tv, collection of DVDs, board games, a powder room, and laundry room with washer, dryer, and ironing board. The pool table wasn't properly leveled, but it was still fun for playing a few games. The hot tub is on an upper-level deck off of the kitchen. It doesn't have a flight of steps to access the backyard so it's great for those with young children or with pets. The "bed-swing" on the front porch, well-stocked with indoor/outdoor cushions, is a great place to relax. The one thing for us that wasn't ideal about the cabin was that it wasn't surrounded by accessible walking or hiking trails and other hiking spots are a bit of a drive away.
As for location, it's about a 15-20 minute drive into Hendersonville which has some great restaurants (like Never Blue), and about 40 minutes into downtown Asheville. We thought the distance would be a concern for our stay, but the drives seemed relatively quick while on the road. Chimney Rock is about a 25 minute drive since the cabin is directly south of the park and the only park entrance is on the north side.
I'd recommend this cabin for those with young children, teens, or pets, who want to enjoy their stay at a nice home and can stay at least 3 or more days to experience fun things to do and see in the area.
The cabin is beautiful! The floors were a little dirty when we arrived (I took off my shoes and I felt sand/dirt on the floor). The Internet wouldn't work even after we followed the provided instructions. The service itself wasn't working. Other than those two minor things, we absolutely LOVED our stay and will definitely rent again. The beds were extremely comfortable! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Historic Hendersonville and surrounding areas offer an abundance of leisure activities, cultural pursuits, historical sites, outdoor recreation, attractions, festivals, recreational activities, golf courses, and a variety of restaurants. Hendersonville's quaint Main Street and adjoining downtown areas have many restaurants, antique shops and boutiques. If outdoor adventure is your thing, you've come to the right place. For rock climbing, hiking or walking, Chimney Rock Park is 13 miles from the cabin. Lake Lure is only 16 miles away and offers swimming, boating and fishing opportunities. Less than 30 miles away will find you surrounded by waterfalls at the DuPont State Forest; enjoying live theater at the historic Flat Rock Theatre; or touring the elegant Biltmore Estate in Asheville. For the more adventurous you can find white water rafting, kayaking, horseback riding, mountain biking, para-sailing, caving, hunting and fishing in the area.
