In our opinion this is the finest location on the Malecon (beachfront road). We are at the center of all beachfront activities. Whether you want to rent a watercraft, go fishing, whale watching, or just enjoy the beach, we have it all. We are situated on a large shallow bay, but twelve miles from shore the water is 20,000 feet deep. Ernest Hemingway once said Salinas has the best fishing in the world. Within a few minutes walk you can select from many good restaurants. Across the road the water is warm and the waves are gentle, so your children can play in the water while you watch from your rented beach chair and umbrella. You can purchase ice cream, sandwiches, coconuts, or a bottle of beer from beach vendors that cater to your every need.
Born in small town Ontario Canada. I moved West to Alberta when I was 25 and opened a furniture store. Ten years ago I sold the business and re-opened as a franchisee for The Brick, Canada's Largest volume Furniture retailer. Last year while traveling to Salinas Ecuador I saw some properties and a year later I returned and purchased these two units on the 11th floor of Vista Del Mar. You can see both listings here, 1509542 and 1509543.

The infrastructure in Ecuador is being upgraded especially the major roads. The beaches in Salinas are clean and the climate is warm but not so much in the Caribbean. Temperature vary from 75-85 and usually come with a nice ocean breeze.
The country is very diverse with sandy beaches and some great surfing in Montanita which is north of Salinas. The uniqueness of the Andes with there spectacular views and the rain forests. 18,000 foot high mountains with snow or cloud forests make this small country possibly the most diverse in the world.
My wife and I spent January/February at this condo, including a week visit by my daughter and fiance. The owners were wonderful to work with and Jaime, the young man who manages the apartment, was an amazing resource for anything you needed and became a friend during our stay. Parking was available and secure, but a car is not needed -taxi's and shuttles were abundant and very inexpensive - not to mention driving is quite an adventure. We hired drivers for trips to Cuenca, Inca ruins, Guayaquil, Montanita (a must side trip) and a other side trips. The drivers (arranged by Jaime) turned out to not only be wonderful folks, but terrific tour guides and just very fun to hang out with.
The condo is spacious, immaculately maintained, secure and could not have been a better location - Right on the Malecon, on the beach and even next door to a Texas BBQ for those days we were feeling a little homesick. The balcony is an amazing part of the experience. It is enormous and the views are spectacular. Very appropriate for kids of all ages. Other than there being a lot of places in this world we have not yet visited, this would be a perfect location for a winter trip each year.
My family and I spent a week in Paul's apartment, and we were thrilled with everything. The apartment is spacious and clean, and the view is spectacular from the balcony. I found both Paul and Jaime, the property manager, to be wonderful to deal with -- quick to respond with good information. Jaime was also extremely responsive to our needs once we arrived. It's great to have that kind of service available.
The only thing that I would note that is not for everybody is that it is right in the middle of the Malecon and that it can be noisy at night. This was not something that bothered me or my family at all, but if you feel that you need absolute silence, another place may be a better fit. I found that I was able to relax very well, in the hammock on the balcony, even with the noise going on around me. And, this happened really only on the weekend. It was barely noticeable during the week.
I would recommend this apartment many times over, and I look forward to returning.
We spent 2 months in this Condo and enjoyed every moment of it, the unit was SPECTACULAR, very clean and easy to keep that way. It is in the heart of the beach area of Salinas, just a short walk or bus ride to the stores, mall or restaurants. Spent many a morning just looking at the activity on the beach. The views from the balcony or any window in the unit were spectacular. Paul and Jaime were wonderful, very helpful and informative and easy to get along with. Can't wait to go back.

I can not express enough what a wonderful time we had in Salinas Ecuador. Staying at the condo was just like being home. Clean, everything you need, great location, eating places, and in the heart of all the action of Salinas. The location is safe, the condo security and staff is wonderful also. Paul the owner was so accommodating and his propriety manager Jamie was such a plus. Paul made sure you were happy , your questions answered and provided all kinds of reliable resources, for touring, taxi service, reliable pick up and returning to airport. maid service was excellent all lined up with quality people through Jamie. Jamie speakes perfect English and we speak very little Spanish another real plus for people like us. We would rent again, recommend staying at this location i can not imagine staying any place better. When you send your money to a stranger you want honesty and intergrity you will have it with both Paul and Jamie. We have traveled many places but never a place made us feel so welcome , comfortable and both checked on us periodically to make sure everything was satisfactory. The only problem we had it wasn't long enough I could have stayed forever.Paul and Jamie great Ambassadors for Ecuador. Because our stay was such a great experience and our trip was a fact finding mission to see if we wanted to move to Ecuador and retire the stay sealed the deal. We are moving to Salinas in June.

My husband and I spent almost seven weeks in this very nice and spacious condo and enjoyed it very much. Actually, in addition to the condo, we also rented Paul's personal suite which made the place huge and very comfortable. We were joined by two adult sons for part of the time and loved it. Also, for a week, we rented his apartment across the hall---for our other two adult children and two grandchildren--giving us the entire 11th floor. A couple visited us for a week after the family left and they too enjoyed the condo. The beds were very comfortable, a fact we always check when we have a long visit. The balcony was a joy. Very large and worthy of much of our time. The condo could not be better located if one likes to be in the middle of it all and enjoy fantastic views! It was clean and we used the maid who was only $20 a day and very nice. Jaime is the property manager and is simply wonderful! He saw to our every need and assisted with the language as he speaks super English. He cooked for us, drove us to Montanita, and arranged transportation to/from the airport for everyone. Very efficient and pleasant, he recommended a great lady to come to the condo to cut our hair, do manicures and pedicures, massages--all very inexpensive. He did everything, including keeping us in bottled water (the water in Ecuador is the only negative). New Years Eve in Salinas is an experience no one should miss! Unlike anywhere else! The guards worked around the clock, were very nice and helpful and ensured our safety which was never in doubt. Good restaurants, most inexpensive. The area and condo are just as described. However, it should also be noted that Paul, the owner, was fantastic to work with and very responsive. He and Jaime make a good team! A wonderful and highly recommended trip to Salinas....
We found this condo with the third bedroom/laundry room to be the perfect place for our group of 6 adults. It was clean and spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed. We loved the view from the very large balcony and spent most of our time out there playing cards in the warm breeze and watching all the activities on the beach below. Jaime, the manager, was so very friendly and helpful. If we ever go to Salinas again we will definitely stay here.
The parking lot is behind a locked gate, however no car is necessary here. Taxi, bus service is sufficient for your needs. The condo has a 24-hour guard for your security. For additional cost the following available: English/Spanish speaking staff to arrange a bus to bring you from the airport in Guayaquil to the front door of the condo, and any desired tours or other activities. English speaking chef is well known for his sushi and pizza skills, and is available for intimate private meals or larger groups there in the condo. Maid service, and laundry is available upon request. We can arrange for eco-tours: bird, whale and seal watching. Deep-sea fishing, banana boat, water ski, paddle boats, and jet-ski rental is available directly in front of the condo. We can also arrange to have a tarp and sand chairs available for you, then when you're ready, have mixed drinks and lunch delivered to you on the beach in front of the condo.
