Nestled in a grove of large cedars, Hidden Meadow Cottage is situated on 15 acres of forest, meadow and wetland wildlife habitat. Recently remodeled, the cottage offers a spacious living area with beautiful architectural details. An exquisite large bay window looks out on the wildlife pond, across the meadow to the old barn and on the inviting trail into the forest. The open floor plan has a semi-private sleeping area with queen size bed, a queen size sofa bed in the living area, and a well-equipped kitchen with gas cook top, refrigerator and microwave. Find inspiration with the writer's nook that looks out on a large old cedar.

Our home is also located on the property and the cottage was our architecural office for many years. We have recently completely remodeled the building as a guest cottage. We're excited to be able to share the cottage and property with Whidbey Island visitors.
Beautiful, comfortable and unique cottage with thoughtful design elements. Charming owner on premise - a definite plus, especially in this case.
Everything we needed was at hand.
A great experience.
The cottage was such a wonderful oasis. It is the perfect size for a couple and was very beautifully decorated, yet quite comfortable. There was a nice collection of movies, good wi-fi, and plenty of information about sights and dining. The cottage also has a washer and dryer in the bathroom, which was a welcome surprise. The owners provided some snacks, which was a nice touch, and were very responsive and pleasant to deal with. We appreciated that the checking out process was simple. Although the cottage was not too far from the main road, we had no problems with any traffic noise. We would be delighted to return.
From the moment we arrived, my sister and I were delighted! Heartily welcomed by Richard as we drove up, we learned where to put in for our sunrise kayaking adventure, a nearby beach for walking and a "not-to-miss" experience, Deception Pass, 45 minutes north. Entering the cottage was to experience a sanctuary so clean, immaculately clean throughout. It was no surprise to learn the cottage was built by an architect, because every inch of space and piece of furniture seemed well designed. Free of clutter, refreshingly minimalist/highly utilitarian, open, yet very cozy and comfortable, we had everything we needed to cook meals inside, enjoy reading, looking out into the wooded retreat. On our last day, we walked part of the 15 acres. In a drizzling rain, we were protected by a canopy of trees. With a soft padding of leaves under our feet and other leaves gently falling here and there, we were reminded of the turning of the seasons from summer to fall. Truly, a paradise, a delight. And to cap it off, we met Mary just before leaving. After meeting her, it was easy to see why the cottage was warm and well tended. The cottage is like the owners, a true gift and delight.
The cottage is in a beautiful setting. We are hikers and enjoyed that there is a short trail right out front where we saw a beautiful owl. There are many hikes in the various state parks nearby. The only drawback is the road noise as the cottage is right next to the main road on the island. This did not bother us as we ran the provided fan (there is also a white noise generator available). But it is something to be aware of if you are sensitive to this. We enjoyed staying here very much; we just wish we could have spent more time!
Cute and comfy little cabin that has everything you need. It was also nice and close to things we wanted to do on island! We enjoyed barbecuing and taking a hike around property!
I was a little concerned when we first arrived that it was right off a main road. However, inside the cabin with doors and windows shut it was okay. I enjoyed coffee in the mornings and looking out the large front window into the forest!
My wife and I stayed here while we were getting married nearby. The place is very nice, it's clean, has everything that you could want, is easy to get to and is close to Freeland (and the main road), it is Private, and has a nice Patio. It was super clean and very cozy. Thanks for the wonderful place to stay.
