About Laura Inman

Hi, I, Laura and my Husband Tom live in Hot Springs SD. Tom and I also both work at the SD State Veterans Home. We have many hobbies and Interests, like Horse Back Riding, Motorcycling, Camping, Boating, Snowmobiling, 4 Wheeling, Hiking and have numerous pets and have both been around the Black Hills most of our lives.

Laura Inman purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Laura Inman chose Black Hills

This was my Fathers Property and we have always enjoyed spending time here as it is quiet and gets us away from everything and It has nice cool nights in the summertime. It is very centrally located in the Black Hills and close to so many attractions and is not far to go to town.

What makes this cabin unique

We love sitting out on the deck BBQing and just taking it easy, there is plenty of room for Kids/Grandkids to run and play in the beautiful lawn of lushes green grass. This Cabin has 10 acres for you to enjoy no other Cabins near by or other people that you have to share with. The cabin is very homey and comfortable with easy access. Cupboards are fully stocked for your convenience. Only 1/2 mile away is Crazy Horse Mt.

great place for family gathering

  • 5 of 5

If one is looking for a peaceful and tranquil setting, the Ponderosa Cabin nestled among the Black Hills and central to all attractions is the place to rent. Fully equipped and comfortable, this place offered our extended family the opportunity to share a wonderful experience in the Black Hills. Our grandchildren loved playing soccer in the enormous field while the adults enjoyed wonderful views from the front deck. The owner was very friendly and accomodating. Without reservation we would recommend the cabin to anyone.

A Great Getaway in the Heart of the Black Hills!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of six stayed here in June of 2013 for a week. This place was ideal. It is very clean, well equipped, and is close to the main road into Custer or any of the surrounding areas and places to see. It is in a quiet neighborhood and we felt like we had our very own slice of heaven in the Black Hills.

The cabin is probably best suited for a couple or family of four, but our family of six fit just fine as we made use of the pullout couch. The beautiful deck out front is fitted with lawn chairs and a grill and made from some great cookouts at the end of our days of sightseeing. Our kids could go out in the yard and play ball and we saw friendly deer in the yard nightly.

This place is clean, well kept up, and absolutely perfectly located. We did things like: Custer State Park, Devils Tower in WY, Mount Rushmore, the 1880s Train in Hill City, Deadwood, etc. and we felt the drive from this central location was ideal. The photos are great, but they are not able to show you the beautiful, quiet setting that you will get. You will love this place. Laura was great to work with and made our stay very easy. I thought this was the best value of our entire trip!

Where the Adventure Begins

  • 5 of 5

I am not a stranger to the Black Hills and Custer State Park and have stayed at a variety of venues over the years. I can truly say that this stay was one of the most enjoyable and it was all due to the Ponderosa Cabin. Ideally situated as a base of operations for daytrips throughout the area; staying here was more like being a guest in friend's home than being a renter. Everything we needed was there and more. Beautiful setting and wildlife abounds. The roads in the area are ideal for hiking and you are just a short distance from the Mickelson trail. Hoping to get back to the Black Hills next year and hoping to be able stay here.

Thank you for sharing your cozy cabin. My husband and I were traveling with 3 granddaughters and were so pleased that we chose your property for our stay. There was so much room for the girls to roam, explore, play, run, and even relax. We ate our dinners on the deck and had wonderful views and lots of deer to watch as they passed by. The cabin was so well equipped with everything we needed and we hated to leave, even to do our sightseeing. So convenient to the major attractions of the area and close to Custer so we could pick up necessary food items. One of the quietest and most private places we have ever stayed. We'd love to return some time soon. Thank you again.
