A designed and newly renovated two bedroom apartment in a 1934 Art Deco building, in a historically protected area of London. We have just listed this property and are very excited to have it available for you.
The apartment has a bright private living room with abundant light and 2 separate bedrooms, perfect for couples or families with full privacy. There is also a modern, well equipped kitchen and a bathroom with bathtub/shower, as well as HD TV and Wifi. The apartment is about 50 square meters.
The Gwynne House building where the apartment is located, is right in the middle of campus of St Mary's College of University of London. So the immediate neighbours are the St Augustine at Phillips church/library, Centre of the Cell research lab, and other Lecture halls etc.
5 minutes walk away is the Whitechapel Art Gallery (the most important modern art gallery after Tate Modern Art Museum), and Brick Lane (with lots of pubs, restaurants). 10 minutes walk away are Shoreditch and Hoxton areas, the trendiest parts of London with pubs, restaurants, cafes, designer and vintage clothing shops.
There is a historic pub/bar right next door, with friendly staff.
Transport: Excellent transport links and easy access: London is a big city - you will enjoy London more (and save costs!) by staying in the real heart and centre of London. For transport, the flat is 2 minute walk to Whitechapel Station. Stansted airport trains goes directly to Liverpool Street which is nearby, or you can take an express bus directly from the airport to the doorstep. London City Airport is 15minutes cab ride away (also on metro system). From Gatwick or Luton, direct trains go to Blackfriars, then a few stops on the District line. From Heathrow, the Express takes you to Paddington, and from there one direct metro line.
We have several very popular properties in London and Amsterdam. Having travelled very extensively across all Europe, and years of experience welcoming guests, we know how to make your trip a very enjoyable stay in London.
Rolf purchased this apartment in 2012
Two private bedrooms plus a very comfortable living room for two more travellers make this ideal for small groups of up to five (or even six, if you all get along!) The building and apartment were fully renovated in late 2012, so everything is very new.
Enjoy some of the more dynamic parts of London, within easy walking distance to the actual City of London ('square mile'), hence Tower of London and other important sites.
We were satisfied with the property. It was clean an cosy. There were 4 adults staying together. It surprised me a little to know that whitechapple is the famous neighbourhood of the infamous Jack the Ripper. We had a few questioning looks from locals when we told them we were staying there It did however feel very safe. Many hardworking immigrants and students live here. I considered our stay a cultural experience.
We really enjoyed our stay in this flat - very easy access to a London Tube Station, and only a couple stops to get to all the sights in Central London and beyond.
The flat was very clean, more than enough room for our family of 4. We used the kitchen some, definitely came in handy! Nice, quiet pub right next door - and plenty of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance as well
We would definitely stay here again!!!
This flat is perfectly located! Close to restaurants, shopping, pubs (one in the same street), tube stations and bus stops. There is even a Tesco Located Within 10 minutes walk.
Rolf+Mok were extremely accommodating, who went above and beyond in coordinating our arrival, making great recommendations for things we can do during our short stay and supporting all our logistics.
The flat is nicely laid out with plenty of space. Kitchen equipped with the basics. Even has a washer/dryer that you can use.
Overall, we LOVED it, and would not hesitate to rent this same flat again or work with Mok and Rolf on one of his other properties.
My wife and two kids (22 and 20 yo) stayed at the flat over Christmas week. The property is exactly as pictured. It was a little cramped for four, but we easily made do. The location is great for less-expensive dining, but easy access to central London. Mok and Rolf were easy to work with, and we had no issues during our stay. The flat is immediately adjacent to the local pub (The Good Samaritan), but we had no issues with noise during our stay.
We stayed with our 3 children and were very happy with the flat. Although the area is now populated with Emigrants from Bangladesh it didn't bother us much as the tube is very near - less than 10 minutes walk and the complex was quite and safe. The flat is clean , beutifful and well equipped. We had a tesco near by and also a big Sainsbury not too far. Overall we found the flat very convenient and a good choice.
The owners were very helpful starting from the date we ordered and until we left.
The two owners gave us a warm welcome.
Their proposals for eating and sightseeing were perfect.
the appartment is three minutes from the tube. The interieur is exact as you can see it on the pictures. Very clean.
W-LAN was always available for the kids.
Absolutely to be recommended!

For transport, the Whitechapel underground/metro station (District, Hammerwith & City and Overground lines) is literally meters away. Shadwell (DLR line) and Aldgate East stations are also minutes walk away.
There are also 24-hour buses 3 minutes walk away.
Around Whitechapel station is a lively multi-cultural street market. Whitechapel is at the eastern edge of very heart of central London, and the metro takes you to all locations in minutes.
