Guestbook comments from the owner

An ideal apartment close to Bastille and the Marais

This is an ideal apartment at a walking distance from Bastille and the Marais.

The flat is very well equipped and conveniently laid out. The kitchen allows

daily cooking; market on Bd Richard-Lenoir on Thursdays and Sundays; a delicious

boulangerie across Bd Beaumarchais; there are two bathrooms and two toilets,

which was very convenient as we staid as a family of four in the flat. Nice

terrace with an incredible view on Paris and the Eiffel Tower.

Finally, a very nice and helpful landlady.

Highly recommended,

Lovely Apartment, Lovely Hostess

  • 5 of 5

We (family of 4) stayed for 11 days and were very happy there. The apartment was comfortable, convenient, and secure (you have to get through about 4 locked gates or doors between the sidewalk and the apartment). Rachelle is a treasure; she was very sweet, knowledgeable, helpful, and accessible. The apartment is high on the 6th floor and has a nice view of the upper half of the Eiffel Tower. The neighborhood is lively and walkable, and has plenty of restaurants, bakeries, and other shops. A supermarket is right down the street. The nearest subway stop is just a block away. You can hear typical city noise but nothing unusually annoying. My only suggestion for Rachelle is to stock a couple of portable fans in the apartment, as we had 90F weather the first few days and it was a little warm for sleeping. We will miss Paris and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Perfect Paris Apartment

  • 5 of 5

My 2 sisters, our cousin and myself lived in this spacious, comfortable apartment for a month this Spring. Rachelle, our landlady who lives in the building, greeted us with wine, cheese, croissants and more. She is a gracious hostess and getting to know her made our stay memorable. She is most helpful. We loved the location: near bus stops and metros, grocery stores, restaurants, the Bastille market, bakeries and shops. The apartment had everything we were looking for: elevators, 2 bathrooms, 4 beds, strong wifi, washer and dryer, kitchen, dining room and a comfortable living room. We loved the view from our balcony. Every night we watched the Eiffel Tower light up and twinkle. I would highly recommend this apartment. We were lucky to find our special Paris home.

I was part of the Jerry and Joe contingency for the whole month of September 2016. I am experiencing depression because I am not still living in Paris in this apartment on Rue Amelot. I miss the convenience of everything: cafes, markets, wonderful Parisians, grocery stores, buses, Metro, movie theater, Dallyoyou. I could just go on and on but this apartment has it all, inside the apartment and outside the apartment. Rachelle is the perfect proprietaire. There when you need her, great fun bumping into her in the elevator, but never intrusive. Hope to live here again someday.

A Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

I am somewhat ambivalent about writing this review because I'm afraid this rental will become too popular with other renters. First of all there were four adults for a month rental. We have rented apartments around the world and this property is one of the very best. The galley kitchen was fully equipped (no U.S. type oven), and we fixed many meals. The washer and dryer was a huge bonus since we are traveling for 3 months and made packing fewer clothes much easier on our journey. The outdoor space was incredible and was almost like sitting in a cafe. We have been to Paris a number of times prior to this visit so we were all about "just living in Paris for a month". The two bathrooms, dining area, 2 bedrooms and spacious rooms made the apartment very enjoyable for all. The view at night of the Eiffel Tower was incredible. Rachelle is the perfect host and was most responsive throughout the rental process and our stay in the wonderful apartment. The location of the apartment could not have been better. Everything we needed was within a few blocks and the choice of transportation when not walking was extremely convenient. It was very difficult to leave Paris and the apartment did not feel like a rental, but a true home. We were not in the least disappointed with your apartment. We stayed the month of September 2016 and the first couple of weeks we encountered some warm weather. The electronic shades were extremely useful for late afternoon early evening sunshine.

Thank you so much Rachelle. We certainly plan to return and hopefully stay much longer. We have such fond memories for this trip and the best of all the Paris rentals we have encountered.

Truly a home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We were fortunate to spend a month at Rachel’s apartment in Paris.

Sometimes it is difficult to separate the host from the home one is renting. That applies to the apartment we rented from Rachel.

Rachel was waiting for us when we arrived (late) by car. She showed us around the private parking area, the layout of the building and the apartment.

When we arrived at the apartment (which by Parisian standards is huge) we were treated to a bottle of wine, candies and cheeses. Rachel is a true hostess. She recommended great restaurants and shops

Not only is the apartment large and well appointed, the beds are comfortable (an unusual aspect in Europe). This secure apartment is on the 6th floor of a modern building and is accessible by elevator in a central location. It is close to the metro, bus stops, grocery store, bakery, restaurants and shopping right off a main thoroughfare in Paris and close to the Bastille where you can catch the Open Tour Bus that takes you to all of the sights in Paris.

The view of Paris is pretty good. One can see the Eiffel Tower and the Pompidou from the balcony.

Wi-Fi and television is included.

The hostess lives 3 floors above the apartment and, while she maintained our privacy, she was always available for any help.

Our son and daughter spent two weeks with us and we never felt cramped. The two bedrooms and two bathrooms afforded plenty of room for the 4 of us.

The apartment is well stocked with anything you would need in the kitchen to cook with, and Rachel makes it a perfect 10.

What an experience in Paris!

This property was truly a Home Away (from home) in every sense. Mme Rachelle is a gracious and thoughtful host, and all the very favorable comments about her made by previous reviewerss are really true! We arrived on an early flight, and she greeted us with coffee and pastries (plus wine and cheese for later in the day), then walked me around the neighborhood to point out the ATM, the Metro, the bakery, the grocery, etc.---all very conveniently located.

We were 2 couples and I was a little concerned prior to arrival that the "cosy" in her listing description would translate into "small"---but that was not the case at all. There is ample seating in the dining area and living room, and bedrooms were spacious, certainly by European standards. Of course, being two couples, we really were pleased with the 2 showers and 2 toilets, and we made use of the washer and dryer on the last day. The furnishings are not new or modern, but added to the "homey" allure. And wi-fi was stong and reliable, unlike other places we stayed on our vacation. If my future travels ever include Paris, I would go straight back to this property and Mme. Rachelle.
