This is Malibu like you have never seen it before! Only 10 minutes to the finest beaches in Southern California! The Artist's House at Malibu Island is a 3-bedroom house high above the Pacific Ocean in the Santa Monica Mountains with sweeping mountain and ocean views. The house is located on a 10-acre property owned by a world-renowned ceramist and artist, whose beautiful works are all around the property. The house is adorned with all new furniture and fixtures in bright tropical colors. All amenities are included.
The Kitchen is located at the end of the Living room space. It has a double sink in front of a huge window overlooking the hills. It includes a full sized refrigerator, gas stove/oven, microwave, convection toaster oven and all utensils, dishes and basic kitchen items you will need during your stay. The lovely dining table seats up to 10 people.
Outside the French doors is a huge private patio, surrounded by blooming plants and flowers, along with a large BBQ grill for your outdoor dining enjoyment. A beautiful wood deck wraps around the back end of the house and is the perfect spot for your morning coffee overlooking the magnificent hills and ocean. Get up early and watch the sunrise and listen to the morning birds sing!
The outdoor patio is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views. There are tables and comfy chairs to sit and talk or entertain. (no parties allowed without advance permission) A hand hewn stone hot tub is just below the deck for relaxing under the stars by night. Or a vigorous dip in the summer heat!
The Master Bedroom has a King sized bed, lots of space for yoga or exercise and French windows/doors all around. An elliptical machine is provided in the corner for working off that last croissant you had for breakfast!
The 2nd bedroom room has two (2) Queen sized beds and a large closet. The 3rd bedroom has two (2) Twin Beds and a Full size bed and a 1/2 bath. This arrangement allows for a total of 10 people to sleep comfortably.
One (1) Full Bathroom with tub and shower is located between the Kitchen and Second Bedroom. An Exotic outdoor shower overlooking the mountainside is also available as an experience you will not forget.
The property is protected with a Security Gate that can only be activated with a unique, private code sent to each guest a few days prior to your arrival. The private driveway ends with a large parking lot that accommodates up to 10 vehicles.
Free unlimited Wi-Fi Internet Access and Satellite TV is included with your rental.
Utilities are included for Short Term renters. Additional utilities charge for Long Term (More than 30 days) month-to-month renters.
Short Term (28 days or less) guests pay a separate one time cleaning fee. Long Term (More than 28 days) guests are required to pay a cleaning fee every three (3) weeks.
Your small well-behaved dog will be considered. Dogs must be kept indoors or on a leash at all times. No dog may be left inside OR outside the house alone at any time. There are Coyotes in these mountains that will take a domestic Cat or Dog for food.
NO CHILDREN UNDER 7 YEARS OF AGE are allowed on this property, with the exception of infants that do not walk or crawl.
We rented this in 2014, before the new renovations the owner has made and we LOVED it!! It's even better now!! It was so remote and relaxing and we loved it so much. It was definitely an amazing experience staying here. The hot tub was my favorite part. And the outdoor shower. I definitely recommend staying here. It is worth every penny!
We stayed in the little house on Chantal's property. The house has large open windows with a view of the valley and the ocean in the distance and a pool in the back yard. We were looking for a secluded/quiet spot to get away for an extended weekend and this place turned out to be perfect. Everything was cozy and comfortable and the house had the necessities(coffee maker, utensils, wifi) Some things to note: You probably wouldn't want to book more than 3 people in this room. It's at least a 20 minute drive from the beach. It's a bit of a drive to a grocery store.
This is an amazingly beautiful oasis near the Ventura County line just up the canyon from Zuma Beach. From our first impression driving up the winding gravel drive and viewing the most amazing giant blue urn sitting at the fork up to our guest house with private pool, we knew we had selected the right Malibu property for us. The privacy was perfect and just the way we like things. The view down the canyon to the ocean was magnificent. We enjoyed sitting on our pool deck at night looking at the stars. The mornings were especially lovely with birds chirping and the sun spraying gorgeous light across this peaceful, lush environment. The myriad of tropical plants in every direction really has to be seen to be believed. It is clear Chantal loves gardening. We travel often to the Caribbean and felt like we were there in the midst of Chantal's gardens. She is a lovely and friendly lady, just one of the rare gems you could visit with for hours. A Rental Contract will be sent upon reservation. Contract must be signed and returned in order to receive directions to the house. No parties allowed. No extra people may sleep in the house without extra charges. This is a very private home and property. It is not a hotel. The house, property, water and all aspects of the home must be treated as if it is your own. Please treat with respect
50% upon reservation. Balance due 7 days before check-in date. Damage deposit held on credit card beginning on check in date.
