Owner is an alumnus of Interlochen Center for the Arts (ICA) and designed this rental with visiting parents and alumni in mind. The house is a modern construction, so if you're looking for 'rustic cabin' accommodations this cottage is not for you. It has central air conditioning and heat, and has been stocked from top to bottom with everything you could possibly need. It has a dishwasher, Bosch washer and dryer, 52' HDTV with WiFi BluRay player, WiFi internet, and much more.
Best of all, the house is a two-minute drive to the ICA campus, and a short half-block walk to Duck Lake public access. It is in a quiet, secluded area of the woods, perfect for reading, sleeping, walking, or enjoying Michigan's beautiful Michigan night sky.
Updated availability to include Fourth of July/National Cherry Festival week. Less than a 20-minute drive into Traverse City for all the spectacular summer events, and then beat a retreat to the quiet comfort of our beautiful cottage in the woods.
I was 11 when my parents sent me to Interlochen for a life-changing summer that turned into a lifelong connection with the institution. I spent six summers as a student, another five on the summer staff, and almost 20 years on Interlochen's alumni board.
Gary Holt purchased this house in 2006
I bought this beautiful home to solidify my connection with the beauty of northern Michigan, to be my summer home when I retire.
I loved my stay at this lovely home in Interlochen. It had modern refreshing decor and was well appointed with everything to make me feel at home. The bedding, towels, kitchen appliances and cooking wares were almost new, aesthetically pleasing and in great condition! My daughter was at Interlochen for her ballet and rock band camp and this 3 minutes away home could not be any more convenient. The owner made the rental process very easy and I highly recommend this house if quality and a relaxing environment is important to you.
My husband and I stayed at this house while visiting our daughter at the Interlochen Arts Academy. It is a tastefully decorated home equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Everything was in excellent condition. We loved the proximity to the school; it is less than five minutes away. Our daughter was able to join us for a few meals because we were staying so close. Gary definitely offers a wonderful vacation getaway!
What a great place to stay! Everything about this home is exptremely well thought out and "done right." The property was super clean and well-maintained, and the ambiance was peaceful and serene. Location is a perfect get-away spot...nestled in the woods, but just a few minutes walk to access to two lakes, the world-famous Interlochen Center for the Arts, and several good local restaurants. All of my dealings with the owner matched his home - as soon as I walked in, I felt welcomed and cared-for!! I won't ever look for another place to stay in this area...this will be "it" for any future visits. Thanks again Gary!
