Joel and Valerie are thrilled to offer our second rental after one year of renting our own residence (Homeaway #958925) for the past year. We are so grateful to live in such a wonderful city and are thrilled to host our guests in luxurious style so they may enjoy Austin and all that it has to offer. One of us bleeds orange and is a Longhorn Alum., the other a Northwestern Wildcat. We love the music scene, are foodies at heart with adventurous spirits to locate the next and best restaurant or trailer and don't miss a festival when possible. WE LOVE AUSTIN and know you will too!!
Valerie Granoff purchased this house in 2012
We bought this property to allow for easy access to one of our favorite parts of town. But we only wanted a property that was beautiful, updated and was as nice to stay in as it was to leave given its perfect location. The entire area is blossoming with new remodels.
We looked for many months for the perfect property in the perfect location--we wanted to have it all!! And we found it. This home offers the best of a great use of beautifully remodeled space, room to easily entertain and close to all of the attractions that make Austin one of the greatest places on earth.
This is a must for anyone having a wedding at St. Ignacious. The church is just 5 minutes away. The house was perfect for socializing with the outdoor seating and games available. The only inside was beautiful and full of all the amenities you could want. Would definitely stay again.
We wanted a month away from Washington, DC. Decided on Austin and were thrilled when we entered this house. We were welcomed with a sweet note, a gorgeous orchard and a bottle of wine on the kitchen table. Incredibly well stocked with linens, dishes, glassware, pots, pans & flatware--even umbrellas. Very clean! We had lots of overnight company and never felt crowded or in each other's way. The outdoor space was a real extension of the interior--plenty of comfy seating and a gas grill. Unfortunately, too warm to use the fire pit and the generous stack of wood left for us. There was a spacious yard in addition to the patio, which was very well maintained.
Priority for us was walkability, and we often walked up SoCo to coffee shop (Sage Cafe), super market, restaurants, .etc. About 2-mile walk to the river, and my husband took multiple walking excursions on the other side of the river. Also short walk to commercial First St.
Valerie and Joel were the perfect owners-- on call if we had questions but otherwise absent!!
Hated to leave to come back to the real world, and we would be back to 117 LaVista in a heartbeat given the opportunity!!!
We had a great time and loved the rental. But be aware that this property is not really in SOCO. It is definitely on the fringe. That meant we had to drive most places and there weren't great places to run or walk to nearby. I would recommend this house and these owners but can't recommend this exact neighborhood. Owners were very helpful and responsive when we had questions!!!
This property exceeded our best expectations. It had everything from a gas grille to a coffee maker. There was nothing else we could have asked for. It was extremely clean. Check in was effortless. All the technology worked.
This property was just right for us, a family of 8. Very modern inside, and had all the appliances we needed for our stay. It was just like being home but away from home at the same time. The Location was just right, about 10 minutes away from DT in the SOCO area which was just right because i had my wedding and needed to be close by. Overall I had a good experience and would recommend it to all my friends and family.
We had a great time staying in the house. Val and Joel were soooo welcoming. They were in touch and made sure we had what we needed, and were having a great time. The house was great - clean, cozy, and very well stocked. We had everything we needed. The in's and out's of the house were clearly explained and comprehensive. Everything about our stay was smooth, simple, and awesome!
