Our home is furnished throughout, starting with the kitchen that’s fully equipped with the small & large appliances, utensils and cookware, including 8 place settings. We have stocked the cupboards with pantry staples from herbs & spices, salt & pepper, oils, coffee, tea and so on so you can cook and bake (or just look like you did). The bar area adjacent to the kitchen is stocked with the many cocktail utensils, bar ware including wine & cocktail glasses. The kitchen and bar area are near the dining area and adjacent to the family entertainment room that’s furnished with a cushy leather sectional, and a woven wicker armchair with seat and back cushions upholstered with a fun pineapple pattern. The new solid hardwood hickory flooring, 50” HDTV, remote controlled natural gas stove, and it’s close proximity to the kitchen for hungry and thirsty guests ensure that this room will be one where your guests will gather.
The dining room has ample room for 6+ guests, and a smaller dining table w/ 2 chairs is in the kitchen and there are 2 folding chairs stored in the adjacent hall closet if they are needed.
Another great feature of the formal dining table is that you can also FOLD the table top in, and it is then only about 2' wide and 5-6 feet long for a buffet table.
At the other end of the main living level is a tranquil living room with a nap-ready recliner and an inviting transitional ultra suede sofa. The 20’ cathedral ceiling and huge windows focus on inspiring west facing views found throughout the home. Completing the main floor are 2 bedrooms, and the newly updated full bath.
On the second floor the master suite features 2 decorative antique English fireplaces, one is in the master bedroom along with a cal. King “heavenly bed” (by Simmons & the westin hotels via Nordstrom). The suite has a large walk-in closet with hangers, small drawers, and shelves for extra storage with an ironing board & iron ready to maintain your special vacation or special event clothes. There are two operable skylights in the roof of the attached (or ‘en suite’) bath, one above the tiled double sink vanity and one in the separate toilet/ shower room.
The other English ‘fireplace’ is in the loft bedroom adjacent to the private master bedroom. Its open to bright views through the adjacent west facing living room windows and an east facing window looking out to the 3rd level of the backyard deck, children’s play area above and the towering evergreens beyond. If anyone is missing for an hour or so you just might find them enjoying a full body massage in our leather human touch massage chair.
This descriptive tour (that can be supplemented by the photo montage) is completed on the first floor of the home with a 1/2 bathroom and the home’s updated, convenient laundry room that’s stocked with laundry soap, bleach, fabric softener, dryer sheets and stain removers.

A stereo receiver is also integrated with the HDTV. The master suite also includes an HDTV with DVD player and a net-box that provides the same features that are available on the main floor entertainment system. The master suite sitting area has your choice of TV or Tivoli audio radio.
Both of us grew up in eastern Washington in a small town. I'm sure it's one of the reasons we love the small town of Edmonds, sitting next to Seattle. It retains the small town feel that we remember as kids, but is near to and has all the amenities and culture with Seattle being just minutes away which is what we both wanted after we graduated from high school and set out to attend college. Steve took a detour to serve his country. Elisa lived in Colorado as her Dad finished his PHD, but they both ended up back in their home towns about the same time so they met, got engaged and moved to the Seattle area. After they got married & had their first daughter we decided it was time for our first home, We bought a forested building lot just north of the city and built our first home, a lovely plan from Better Homes & Gardens with a greenhouse along the south side.
When our second daughter was 4 years old we started to look for a home that was a little bigger. We looked at so many! But when we walked into this home in Edmonds we knew it was going to be the one' even before we had reached the main floor. Just something about this home and Edmonds spoke to us.
Twenty years later the 2 girls being grown up & starting lives of their own we have decided we don't want to give up this home, but we would like to spend part of the year somewhere really warm so we started looking at our favorite spots... we now spend a great deal of the year in a second home in Maui, but want to keep our Edmonds home to return to when ever we wish.
Steve and Elisa purchased this house in 1994
Our eldest daughter, Rhia was an aspiring ballet dancer and had up-to this point been attending dance classes at the Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle. When her classes expanded, we checked around & found the Olympic Ballet Theatre in nearby Edmonds. She was accepted into their classes, so during each class, we used the time to get exercise and explore the sights. The 3 beaches, Saltwater Estuary, and car bumpers saying 'Its a Edmonds Kind of Day'
The Frances Anderson Center, (a short walk) is another of the thriving cultural centers (open to eveyone daily) than was also home to the Olympic Ballett. a perfect fit. now its better known as Edmonds Recreation Dept.a open to all, with visual arts courses, group fitness classes, youth activities and childcare services & home to the Edmonds Outdoor Arts Festival, held annually on Father's Day weekend and another Museum.
After April was born we decided we would need a bigger home . We looked at (it seemed like) 100's of homes and very soon we would have Edmonds at the very top of our list of places to live, shortly thereafter we drove up toSeaVista House we would soon call home.
Anyway...the deal was made & we still love the home and the little town of Edmonds. Over 18 years, but we still enjoy simple things. Like a 10 minute walk to downtown, the small restored movie theatre and the waterfront, noticing what's new & different from from the surrounding seasonal flowers in hanging baskets and street corner gardens, to new sculputres and boardwalk at the waterfront and displays in the shop windows and familar, 'The Falling Waters Cedar's Fountain' brass inlays on sidwalks telling Edmonds history thru art, .being able to walk to the many town festivals: Waterfront Fest, Arts Fest, Taste of Edmonds, Flower Festival and the other added events during the year and of course the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony, the Fireworks on the 4th of July. if we stay at home that night we can see fireworks from our 'View Deck
Of the many benefits of visiting or living in this Small, Friendly and Safe little waterfront town of Edmonds are many, the unique views. We have always loved the west-facing views of the snow capped Olympic Mountains even in the summer and the water views of 'The Puget Sound'. With the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry-dock a short walk through Downtown Edmonds to take the walk-on passengers and cars for a 30 minute ride over the water to 'The Olympic Peninsula' for a ferry boat ride or bit of shopping, dinner, or on to the Hoa Rain Forest for a day trip.
From SEAVISTA; You will be staying in a home that is just blocks from Starbucks, Quality Foods Store, PCC Natural Market Foods Store, Several nearby Parks, tennis club,Public Swimming pool & Park, Bike Trails, Walking Tours and Trails, Yoga and Dance classes, tennis club, fishing pier Oh my goodness we could go on-, all within a wonerful small and SAFE Walk from your SEAVISTA Guest Home facing west on a quite cu-del-sac street
In the mornings the bird sounds and the ferry fog horn starts coming thru open skylights in your top floor master bedroom as the morning light spills over the hill behind the house to fill the family rooms east facing window. Then sunlight and shadows play all around the house as the day goes by. When the evening comes the golden-red of the sunsets flood inside the rooms (9) from the front west facing windows.
When we're at home during the day, we may be having our morning coffee or lunch just outside the back door on the first level of the deck (we call it the Dining Deck). If it's too cold or wet we'll be just inside in our kitchen nook instead as it sits in the southwest corner of the kitchen. It's separated from the outside Dining Area only by a south facing window.
A web-search for visiting Edmonds Washington will lead you right to many additional attractions.

Our stay was really nice. The weather was absolutely perfect and we enjoyed that we were so close to the ferry terminal and lots of nice downtown dining. The home was perfect for us with plenty of bedrooms and lots of lounging areas. The owners were great to work with and very accommodating.
Had a great stay in Edmonds at this home. Nice place, clean, everything works and excellent location. Everyone in my family was impressed with house. Home is large enough that activities in one part of home do not disturb people in other parts.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The house was well appointed and perfect for our group of 7 (including 2 small children). The common area was great for relaxing together. The deck areas and outdoor seating were also a plus! The owners were extremely helpful throughout the process. I would highly recommend this property!
The location of this home in Edmonds is convenient to both downtown Edmonds (just over a mile to Main & 5th) and the freeway (for access to Seattle). The home itself is a split-level, built on a relatively steep hill. It faces west toward the Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains. The view is partially obstructed by tall trees across the street. But, you do nevertheless have a partial view, and it is beautiful. The entire home was very clean. When we stayed there, it was unusually warm for early May in the Seattle area. The home has a number of windows with screens that can be opened. That worked well for ventilation, as the western sun hits the entire front of the house and really warms things up inside without some ventilation. Overall, we were very satisfied with the home and would recommend it to other prospective guests.
This house was perfect for our 7 member family visiting Edmonds for a grandmothers' birthday gathering. It was well organized with all supplies labeled. Communications and instructions were clear. Layout of house worked very well for us with 3 teenagers. A caution for anyone with trouble walking - there are a lot of steps and a steep driveway. But that was part of the charm for our group. There is a great deck in the backyard to enjoy the view.
We visited the Seattle area for a family wedding. The home was close to family in Seattle and the wedding in Everett. We had plenty of space for each of us and the common area's are comfortable and relaxing. It's just on the outskirts of Seattle and in a quiet neighbourhood.
We enjoyed our visit and would recommend this home to others looking to visit Seattle or the area.
What we love about Edmonds:
Edmonds is the kind of place you can get out of the car and explore on foot offering a quaint downtown packed with boutiques, cafes, shops, galleries and other attractions all closely situated in an area known for its tree-lined streets and small-town USA feel. You can time your visit to Edmonds to visit one of the many local festivals, but you don't need to wait!
In addition to the walkable downtown area, the area has beautiful beaches and Puget Sound views that you don't find just anywhere. It's no wonder with the atmosphere around Edmonds that artists flock to the place and that it's become known as an artist's community.
Art is everywhere downtown as you notice the colorful hanging flower baskets and vintage street lamps. A great way to explore Edmonds is to take a self-guided walking tour of art throughout the downtown area. In the center of town, you will find a water feature 'Cedar Dreams', an iconic fountain art installation that tells visitors a story about local history. Murals and sculptures are found throughout the downtown area. If you're in town the third Thursday of the month, you can take the Edmonds Third Thursday Art Walk. And be sure and visit the Edmonds Art Festival Museum.
The Edmonds Center for the Arts is where you can hear the Cascade Symphony Orchestra, Sno-King Chorale and see the Olympic Ballet. Other live theater events are held throughout the year, so be sure and check ahead.
Also, don't forget the Summer Markets, which are held each Saturday May through October.
History is everywhere in Edmonds, too, with a log cabin visitor center welcoming guests to the city and remnants of the past such as the restored and operating 1920s Art Deco movie theater and the Carnegie Library Historical Museum.
City parks are eveywhere and available for a picnics and some feature multiple walking trails. Visit Yost Park for the trails and a swimming pool; City Park and Hickman Park both have picnic facilities, barbecues and play toys for the kids. Should you be a bird enthusiast, the Edmonds Marsh is a unique urban saltwater estuarine marsh, where you can find over 200 species of birds.

Before we moved to Edmonds, we lived in the adjacent suburb of Lake Forest Park, Lisa was pregnant with our 2nd daughter April. Our eldest girl, Rhia was an aspiring ballet dancer and had to this point been attending dance classes at the Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle. When her classes expanded to 3 per week we convinced her that the commute, even with sharing the driving with a classmate was just getting to be too much effort for mom & dad. We checked around & found the Olympic Ballet Theatre in nearby Edmonds. She applied and was accepted into their classes, so during each class, we used the time to get a little exercise and explore the local sights.
The Olympic Ballet is located in the Frances Anderson Center, at that time and still a thriving cultural center. It's also home to the Edmonds Recreation Dept. with visual arts courses, group fitness classes, youth activities and childcare services & home to the Edmonds Arts Festival (held annually on Father's Day weekend) and the Festival's year round Museum.
Several years after April was born we decided we would need a bigger home so she could have her own room instead of the den, especially since it didn't have a door or an actual closet. We looked at (it seemed like) 100's of homes and although we would have had Edmonds at the very top of our list of places to live, the prices for what we needed were a bit out of our budget, at least until we drove up Sea Vista to the house we would soon call home.
Anyway... the deal was made & we still love the home and the little town of Edmonds. Many things to do, but we still enjoy simple things like walking downtown or on the waterfront, noticing what's new & different from year to year from the beautiful seasonal flowers in hanging baskets and street corner gardens to different boats at the marina, and displays in the shop windows.
We always love the festivals: Waterfront Fest, Arts Fest, Taste of Edmonds and the other events such as the 4th of July fireworks, tree lighting for the holidays and summer music concerts around the city parks. These are things that make living in a small town the best, and when the small town is near a metropolitan area like Seattle the opportunities are endless.
Before our daughters were born we loved the weekends we could go skiing. Several areas are so close it can easily be a day trip. When the girls got old enough, we took them along. There are still songs that, when they come on the radio remind us of those early ski trips. When we were too busy with other things the girls could travel to the slopes on a ski tour bus & return in the evening.
