319 is a large studio apartment.
All of our apartments are stocked with kitchen and bathroom essentials, blow dryers, irons, ironing boards, and free wifi access.
319 is a studio apartment perfect for one person or a couple. It's all in one room: queen bed, dining/work table, love seat and full kitchen. There's good closet space and the bathroom has a tub/shower. This apartment is approx. 300 sq ft.
The kitchen area includes a gas range and microwave convection oven by Sharpe. We added the peninsula with butcher-block top when we remodeled the apartment.
There's lots of storage space between the closet, the dresser and the two night stands. The bathroom is small--when the building was built in 1905 the bathrooms were the least important spaces, and this one, which was once a bathroom in the hall shared by six apartments, (until our remodel) is very narrow.
There is a short hall leading to the bathroom and front door. There's a skylight in the hall which brightens and warms the apartment, but it gets light very early in the summer, so there's a second door into the main room, in case a person wants to sleep in.
Please be aware that this is an urban environment. In our neighborhood you can expect to encounter people from all walks of life and hear noise, often late into the evening. If a silent outdoor environment is important to you, this part of Seattle may not be the best place for you to stay. That being said, St. John's is an incredible place to experience the city from, and we have security systems, triple-pane windows to reduce the street noise as well as white noise machines in the bedrooms to make sure you sleep easy.
We have a large website with lots of photos of the building and the neighborhood. It has a link to our on-line reservation system, so it's easy to just go there and make a reservation for the apartment if it's available. In the summer we are always fully booked and usually far in advance, so we advise trying to make your decisions as early as you can if you want to stay with us. If you have questions feel free to send an email and we'll write back and send a link to the website if you wish to go forward with us. Thanks for looking. We hope you have a great time in Seattle!

About Bryce Montgomery
St. John's is owned by Oda Egeland. The short term apartments are her home away from home and she stays in them regularly when they are available. Bryce manages the short term rentals, he handles all of the booking, correspondence, and check ins. Johnny is our live-in building manager and resident handyman. We keep trying to improve the apartments and make them more like a home, super comfy and with all the conveniences you could possibly want. Please be aware that this is an urban environment. In our neighborhood you can expect to encounter people from all walks of life and hear noise, often late into the evening. If a silent outdoor environment is important to you, this part of Seattle may not be the best place for you to stay. Why Bryce Montgomery chose First Hill
St. John's is in the middle of Seattle, on Pike Street, right next to a large grocery store and surrounded by interesting shops and restaurants. It's in the middle of the most happening of all neighborhoods! There are three restaurants in the building, two more on our block, and dozens in the surrounding blocks. Plus there are lots of small stores and shops, lots of fun stuff. Two blocks away, for book lovers, is Seattle's oldest and best bookstore, Elliott Bay Books. It's a must see--a wonderful old building with a tremendous selection. And if you're into music, right next door to Elliot Bay Books is EveryDay Music, which is a huge music and video store. Got kids? Right across the street is Cal Anderson Park, jammed full of playing fields, sport courts and play areas with swings and such for the young ones. All in all ours is a great location!
Local Services & Businesses
The Studio was comfortable, clean & warm! Nice, quiet building-- wonderful staff when I checked-in, great location-- will be sure to stay here again when in town!
Clean, easily accessible to everything in Seattle
Loved staying at St. Johns. Convenient and easily walkable to all the great sights of Seattle. Christine and John were very hospitable and made my stay easy to book!
St. John's Apartments is as advertised - great location, layout, amenities. It is our home away from home for six weeks! The best part is the customer service and an on-site manager which gives a great sense of comfort and convenience. I would recommend this property.
Great location right on Capital Hill, close to downtown and lots of restaurants/shops. The apartment was exactly as featured, very clean and spacious. Highly recommend.
The St. John's is a great lodging value.
St, John's apartments are in an older building that has a lot of charm. The property is meticulously maintained, clean and comfortable. Both Christine and the live-in manager, Johnny were a pleasure to work with. Johnny even got out of bed on a Saturday morning to allow me an early check-in at 9:30 am. You don't get that kind of service many places. The kitchen was well equipped with about anything you would need. So was the bathroom, with nice thick towels, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The Capitol Hill area is a great location with many good bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The walk to downtown is not bad either, but the bus stops are very convenient, too. The grocery store across the street is top notch. I would definitely recommend St, John's as an alternative to the pricier hotels.
