About Patti King

We are a large family with 13 grandkids and many dogs spread out over the US. Our lakehouse has been our summer gathering place for 26 years.

Patti King purchased this house in 1990

Why Patti King chose Texas Lakes

We chose Lake Granbury, since it is just 40 minutes from Fort Worth and Arlington - which makes for a very easy getaway.

What makes this house unique

The lakehouse is casual and comfortable and our property on the cove is fantastic for boating, exploring, swimming and endless fun in the lake. We have had 5 extended family reunions and numerous parties. The yard is sprawling and great for soccer games, volleyball, badminton and bocci ball.

Family Thanksgiving

We had the most perfect vacation. 4 Grand parents, 4 parents and 5 ranging in age from 8 to 22.

This is the best equipped VRBO we have ever found. It had everything we needed to cook the. big dinner or sit around a big fire pit and relax.

The yard was perfect for bean bag or football, they all enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat.

Granbury is close enough for shopping on the square or the Oprah House theatre.

Granbury Lake House

  • 5 of 5

Our time there was excellent. The two story house is located on a peninsula in a cove off of the main body of the lake. The set up of the house, location of two large bedrooms downstairs separated by the kitchen and living areas with two bedrooms up stairs gave each of the three families with our 5 grand children privacy, but with ample room with not feeling crowded. The kids swam and fished off of the dock, while each pair of the adults took turns in the paddle boat or kayaks. We cooked out on the gas grill and made smores at the stone fire pit near the lake. The owner of the property was generous in giving us additional time since she didn't have bookings sandwiched around us. We will definitely be going back.

Best family long weekend getaway our family has ever enjoyed

  • 5 of 5

This lake house was absolutely perfect for our large family. The accomodations were absolutely the best. Being close to the water and boat dock simplified things so much. 4 of our family members were 4 and under and they were non stop. Either swimming, fishing, or jumping or being thrown in by their elders. And for the rest of us, someone had the canoe or kayaks in the water almost non stop. Being able to keep the family boat at the property was so nice. No unloading and reloading was necessary. The very spacious back yard allowed for some nerf baseball, tanning, and a tiny fun water sprinkler for our smallest little one. We spent very little time in the house as the large covered patio allowed us to so many things outside. We laughed, played games, danced, and cooked out every night. Many memories were made and I'm sure it won't be our last. The owners were very kind and easy to contact. We had a great and relaxed long weekend!
