About Vickie Faber

Vickie has owned this property since the early 90's when it was just a solar powered, cord style log shack. My family has built many memories through the years and enjoyed sharing the place with family and friends. After rebuilding in 2005, Vickie decided to share the small piece of heaven with other's who might appreciate the peace of this secluded mountain hide-away. It is our families hope that you leave here with some great memories of a splendid vacation or wedding and that those memories last a lifetime.

Vickie Faber purchased this House in 2009

What makes this House unique

Very few places are available for private ownership in this area of Tonto Natl. Forest. It sits just under the Mogollon Rim at approx. 5500 foot above sea level so the climate is mild to moderate compared to Phoneix. The place sits next to Ellison Creek that flows year round as well as a fulyl stocked trout pond. The property is surrounded by tall pines and juniper's and the 52 mile Highline trail can be reached within a few hundred feet. Each time we go we see amazing wildlife: bobcat, eagles, wild turkeys, javalinas, rabbits, elk, deer, coyotes and SO much more!

Gorgeous and remote - just what we wanted!

                                                          Kelli J.

We spent our Holiday here, and it was beautiful! The home is cozy and modern. The yard was perfect for our daughter and nephew! We’ve never seen such a variety of wildlife anywhere we have stayed. Will definitely be back!

                                                          Absolutely Wonderful!

                                                          Carol and Valerie C.

I have stayed there two times and want to go back. It is so clean and has everything you could need in the cabin from dishes to games. I love sitting on the front porch and hearing the elk bugling and sometime getting to see a few passing through. It's close to the rim and the lakes which make a great day trip of fun.

                                                          Great long weekend near Payson!

                                                          James H.

Really enjoyed the house! The elk bugling every evening was truly a treat. It seems there were many bulls in rut in the forest surrounding the neighborhood. Thanks Vickie.

Nice size for three people, well equipped, and in a beautiful location

                                                          Martin B.

The house is located very close to the rim on a well-graded dirt road. The area is beautiful and remote. I would stay there again.

                                                          Vickie F.-

Wow, what a great home and beautiful views of the mountains from the deck. There were lots to do in the area, however, we did a lot of relaxing. We were able to let our dog in the back yard with out supervision due to the pet friendly fence. The whole property was beautiful.

                                                          So -So

                                                          Judith G.

The house is very nice. The cool, clean air was a welcome change from the valley. However. The yard is a disaster of weeds, thistles, dust ( or mud when it rains) and ruts. There is a road/traffic both on the front side and on the back side of the lot. Neighbors are in spitting distance.

                                                          Owner's Response:

We always try to please all of our guests-

First...lets talk about weeds. We are in the middle of the forest, there are trees, weeds, dirt, mud, sometimes bugs- everything a place in the woods would encompass. This couple never contacted us about any weed issues or anything else for that matter during their stay. HSecondad they made contact we would have made sure thibgs wete right. This property is a full acre with one house in 12 acres on one side and someone 2 acres away on the other. Owned properties in this setting are few and far between and the road has a DEAD END/PRIVATE PROPERTY signage at the entrance so its traveled by homeowners and sometimes forest service personnel. We provide toiletries and detergents that are septic safe that this couple choose NOT to use even after several discussions and damage they caused to our septic system which cost us over $1000 to rectify. EVERYONE else whom stays here has no issue with. Finally- My family went out of their way, driving 2 hours to assist this couple in picking up and mailing medical eqt they left at the property after they had completed their stay. I will rate these clients accordingly as well for other vrbo owners to see. No good deed -indeed!
