About Vickie Owen

Vickie has owned this property since the early 90's when it was just a solar powered, cord style log shack. My family has built many memories through the years and enjoyed sharing the place with family and friends. After rebuilding in 2005, Vickie decided to share the small piece of heaven with other's who might appreciate the peace of this secluded mountain hide-away. It is our families hope that you leave here with some great memories of a splendid vacation or wedding and that those memories last a lifetime.

Vickie Owen purchased this house in 2009

What makes this house unique

Very few places are available for private ownership in this area of Tonto Natl. Forest. It sits just under the Mogollon Rim at approx. 5500 foot above sea level so the climate is mild to moderate compared to Phoneix. The place sits next to Ellison Creek that flows year round as well as a fulyl stocked trout pond. The property is surrounded by tall pines and juniper's and the 52 mile Highline trail can be reached within a few hundred feet. Each time we go we see amazing wildlife: bobcat, eagles, wild turkeys, javalinas, rabbits, elk, deer, coyotes and SO much more!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Joanne wrote: "Had a wonderful weekend up north with Landon Pickering and Marianne Robb. Hated to leave the beautiful scenery, cooler temperatures and good times to come back to work. Thanks Vickie Faber Owen for the use of your place and Marianne for helping us catch to many fish!"

A+++++ Amazing, Well-Stocked, Quiet, Clean, and Relaxing!!

  • 5 of 5

We highly recommend this place! The drive out to the house was worth the stay alone. The tall pines and view of the rim were breath-taking. The house couldn't have been more quiet and peaceful. The owner's directions to and description of the property were spot-on. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the patio/backyard was great. We had cell phone reception with Verizon, which was nice. We will definitely plan on coming back in the future.

Excellent Place to Relax

  • 5 of 5

We pretty much spent the whole time in the back yard sitting at the picnic table, reading, and watching the neighbors horses in their pasture and drinking sangria. Loved it.

Great mountain family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We greatly enjoyed the mountain setting of this cabin. Our kids enjoyed going for walks to look for animals and walking along the creek in search of bugs. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed...including a doggy door and fenced in yard for our dogs. Vickie did a great job of providing us with directions, giving descriptions and directions to places to visit in the area, and quickly answering my questions. We enjoyed our stay and can't wait to visit again!

Very nice cabin, wonderful experience

  • 5 of 5

The whole family had a great time.

The kitchen had everything and more. Pantry was well stocked. If you forget something, don't worry. Most likely that spice is in the pantry. We grilled a lot. dogs loved the backyard. The bedrooms are nicely appointed with comfortable bedding. The beds and pillows were perfect. The split bedroom plan provided privacy as well.

Everything was there as described. We would love to come back for a nice relaxing weekend again. Thanks, Vicki for allowing us to enjoy the family cabin. Sanjay & Carol Lokare
