About the property

Large Lot With Gorgeous 3 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath House (Comfortably Sleeps 8)

If you're looking for a private weekend escape or a vacation destination for your entire family, this new 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home on Inks Lake is a perfect getaway. Inks Lake, nestled in between Burnet and Llano in the beautiful Texas hill country, is drought resistant (constant level) and also the home of the popular Inks Lake State Park and Camp Longhorn.

This uniquely designed two story home features lots of windows and scenic lake views from every room. The kitchen and dining area offers plenty of space for meal preparation on granite and stainless steel counter tops, stainless stove/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave oven, coffee maker and utensils. If cooking outside is your preference, a gas grill and large, wood fired BBQ pit are both available for perfecting your favorite outdoor recipes. The utility room beside the kitchen includes a washer and dryer for refreshing your weekend wardrobe or extended stays. A comfortable living room, bedroom with a king size bed, 40' flat panel TV/DVD and 1.5 bathrooms complete the downstairs floorplan. A spiral staircase leads upstairs to a dramatic 1930's style steel catwalk that connects two bedrooms and a large shared bath. Both upstairs bedrooms have a double bed; one of the upstairs bedrooms also features a cozy bunk bed.

A large covered deck spans the front of the house, offers a cool breeze and plenty of additional lakeside seating. The water's edge is only a short walk away across a large St. Augustine grass yard. Wide concrete steps provide easy access to the water and boat dock on a private, no-wake cove which is ideal for swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking or floating peacefully on inner tubes with friends. The dock features plenty of space for sun bathing during the day or star gazing at night. Our boat normally occupies the boat lift from April-September but you are welcome to bring a boat and tie it to the mooring buoy or dock. Boat and jetski rentals are available close by.

Other activities and resources in the immediate area:

Tour the hill country wineries,

Explore the underground caves of Longhorn Cavern State Park,

Take the Vanishing Texas River Cruise upriver to see waterfalls, eagles nesting and other wildlife,

Hike through Inks Lake or Enchanted Rock State Parks, or

Wander into Burnet, Kingsland and Llano for groceries, restaurants and shopping.

Inks Lake Village is a private and gated community located minutes off Highway 29 between Llano and Burnet, Texas. Remember to keep the gate code handy before your arrival. The driveway is a bit steep but provides space for parking 3-4 cars.

Pet friendly but no cats please (allergy issues). Winter Texans welcome!

About Nancy

So many wonderful memories have been made with our extended family at Inks Lake. We bought the lots in Inks Lake Village in 2000. We designed and started construction of the house in 2005 and the boat dock in 2008.

Nancy purchased this house in 2000

Why Nancy chose Lake Buchanan

Inks Lake Village is a wonderful, small gated community located on this constant level lake. Many of the Texas lakes are so low during our Texas droughts, but not Inks. Many visitors over the years have commented of the relaxed feeling our place holds. Come sit in the back porch rocking chairs, under the ceiling fans and cool down with a large glass of iced tea.

What makes this house unique

Daybreak and sunset are our favorite times of the day. The lake is normally calm and and exudes serenity. The dock usually has a southern breeze. The waterfront has several steps down to the granite-lined beach area. Inks is a deep lake to enjoy wake boarding, tubing, wake surfing, or water skiing almost any time of the day! Secure, gated community.

Special construction details include the many rock-filled pillars designed from inspiration of the Llano bridge and the steel catwalk between the upstairs bedrooms. Our place is light and bright with 44 windows to view the lake from each room. Please be considerate of our year round neighbors!

3 Bedroom 2.5 Bath Lakefront Home Located On Private Cove
average rating of 4.9387755 based on 49 reviews

The home was nicely finished and cozy. We had plenty of options for sleeping arrangements.

The home was nicely decorated with plenty of towels, etc. my children loved the little nook for reading and games. My oldest holed himself up there for some privacy. My younger could get enough of the fishing off the dock. Morning and evening he reeled in some good sized catfish. It was the getaway that we were looking for.

Pearland, Texas

The house had everything we needed and more. The best part for our hectic life was peace and quiet.

Being on a lake was perfect for us as we kayak. Out the door and into the lake. Plus everyday the deer came for a visit. We can't say enough about the house and lake.

Our "Go to" lake spot

  • 4 of 5

Pros: The best feature of this home is it's lake front access. Shaded trees and an easy beach type entry in to the lake rather than the typical "drop off" make it a great place for little ones to swim. Its just so easy getting in to the water. The large back porch is perfect for our family to gather, eat, and visit. Although the inside of the house is just as inviting. This owner goes above and beyond with providing plenty of dishes, towels, bedding, lake toys, etc. The house is always clean and well maintained.

Cons: Although the architecture is cool, its quite noisy with people walking about on the metal spiral staircase and metal landing hallway to the 2 upstairs bedroom not to mention the spiral staircase is a bit dangerous for small children and the elderly to manage. There is not easy parking here either - especially bringing your own boat and trailer. The driveway is very steep and the parking in it is too limited to keep your boat trailer here. But the boat launch has a small area to leave it there.

I give this place a 4 star because the lake front far outweighs the steep parking access and stairs. It's our 3rd year in a row and we continue to keep coming to this Home Away from Home - It's now our family tradition. :)

Relaxing venue with great access to Inks Lake

  • 4 of 5

For our family gathering, the house provided great rooms with many convenient nooks for grandchildren to sleep/play. The porch with its ceiling fans provided a wonderful view of the lake and the activities in the water by our family. The cove's concrete steps were particularly advantageous for a gradual introduction of the lake to the younger children. The kayak and canoe also provided transport to the state park by the adventuresome. There was plenty of seating indoors and outdoors for visiting and dining. We enjoyed our stay and recommend the home as a great vacation location.

Texas Hill Country waterfront lake house with 3 bedrooms 2 1/2 bathrooms that comfortably sleeps 8 people. Rustic and relaxing decor, large covered deck, spacious yard, fishing/swimming dock with room for your boat and jet ski. Located in Inks lake Village, a small gated community, on a no wake cove which opens to the main lake. Neighborhood boat launch available. The fishing is great but our children have enjoyed most the water sports. Kayak across the lake at sunrise. Canoe with a friend for bird watching. On really hot days, you'll find us 'floating' on rafts right off our beach. So much more to do in the surrounding area! Spend a day hiking at Enchanted Rock State Park, tour Fall Creeks vineyards and winery, antique shop in historic Fredricksburg, visit President Johnson's boyhood home in Johnson City, grab some BBQ at world famous Cooper's in Llano, explore the caves at Longhorn Cavern State Park, or take a slow relaxing cruise on the Vanishing Texas River Cruise on Lake Buchanan. At the end of the day, fire up the large BBQ pit or gas grill to cook your own special recipes.
