Gorgeous, air-conditioned home on bluff overlooking the bay offers sunsets, privacy, and lots of room to stretch out. This 3 bedroom, 2½ bath home has every amenity you want. Bright, modern, and spacious, this is the perfect house for a beach vacation, entertaining friends, and comfortable living.
The wide-open kitchen and living room have views of the bay and tidal flats. You can enjoy amazing sunsets from the kitchen, dining room table, living room, large wrap-around deck with dining table, rooftop tanning deck, or the master bedroom. A lower deck and front yard (with grass!) are great for kids who want to explore, run, swing, and play.
The upper level, with its extra high ceilings, has a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, main living area, and master bedroom. The kitchen is very spacious, and the grill on the deck right outside makes dining-in easy. The living area is very comfortable, with views of the water and a surround sound audio and DVD system make for great evening movies.
The over sized master bedroom has direct access to the deck and views of the water from the king size bed. The master bath has a large soaking tub and shower. One of the bedrooms downstairs has a queen-sized bed with a tempur-pedic mattress. The other bedroom can sleep up to four people and is perfect for children. There is a bunk bed with a rolling trundle underneath, plus a futon chair that opens into a full sized bed.
The full downstairs bath has a separate shower and tub, and provides direct access to the outdoor shower. There is also a separate half bath plus a laundry room with full sized washer and dryer. The downstairs den, with a built in desk, has a printer/fax machine.
Each bedroom, as well as the living and dining areas, has its own thermostat and AC unit for optimal comfort. Wireless internet access is available throughout the house and on the decks. Phone calls within the continental US are free.
The house abuts Audubon park land and is perfect for bird watchers. It is a five-minute walk to Lieutenants Island Bridge where kids and adults love to jump off the bridge (at high tide!). Further down the road at the end of Lieutenants Island is a wonderful bay beach that showcases the changing tides. Oceans beaches near the house include Marconi, Maguire’s Landing and Cahoon Hollow. The bike path is nearby, as is the Wellfleet drive-in and PB Boulangerie, the best French bakery and restaurant on the Cape.
Town beaches (ocean, bay, and ponds) are accessible with a visitors beach permit available from the town beach office. National Park ocean beaches can be accessed with annual or daily passes.
There are stairs leading up to the house and stairs inside. The inside stairway is wide and does not have a gate. This property is not appropriate for toddlers.

The house is amazing! It's so beautiful and thank you for the basket of goodies. So very thoughtful. Many, many thanks.
The Audubon Sanctuary is stunning! And to sit out on the deck and watch the egrets and herons flying in is wonderful. Kudos to your wife...everywhere I turn a thoughtful/tasteful/helpful/practical touch is waiting. And the colors make me happy. Not many can mix them up and make it work. And this really works! Thanks for all!
This house is amazing! It's comfortable to hang out in as well as being set in an idyllic place, looking out on Wellfleet harbor, Cape Cod bay and the tidal marshes closer to shore. There are ample decks for lounging, eating, watching the sunset, and a sun deck on the roof level. The views are amazing and the location is quiet, though easily accessed to Lt. Island Road.
The house is beautiful appointed, the furniture is really comfortable, the beds are all high quality, as are all the appliances and stocked items. The kitchen is great for cooking, the outdoor grill is great, and thanks for supplying beach chairs!
The AC works well and fast, and thankfully there are screens everywhere if you prefer to leave windows and doors open for air. The owner, Marty is really friendly and helpful and has a genuine interest in the renters having a nice time. It was presented clean and with easy instructions. I'd go back in the coming years!
This is a bright and airy house, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking an ever changing bay. The large wrap around decks have a nice breeze, and you can be very comfortable sitting outdoors if you want to skip the beach. At the same time, we really appreciated the A/C on muggy days. Convenient to Lt. Island bridge and beaches, with a nice, private location. Great rental!
Hard to know where to start. The house is well equipped, nicely renovated, and provides an open, airy feeling. It's quite spacious, with a large great room and lovely media room downstairs. The kitchen is very modern, with a countertop island and open dining room. There is a wrap around deck (with an outside eating area) that boasts lovely views of the bay side of the Cape. Plus, there's an upper level deck that is great for sunbathing. One feels very much at home in this property. It provides real privacy, and the owner is responsive to even the smallest of queries.
I'm hesitant to allow the word to leak out about this house, but then, I feel compelled to share the good news. We're rented nice places on the Cape (and elsewhere) before, but this is our fave.
We have rented several houses on the Cape throughout the years and this house is hands down the best of all. We were two adults and four teenagers. The house had an ideal layout, with plenty of room for the teenagers to spread out and not bother us or each other. The home was immaculately clean. The sliding glass doors provided an abundance of natural sunlight. The spacious living area is well furnished and the large kitchen is well equipped and has more than enough room for two or three people to prepare and cook meals. The decks are wonderful -- a great place to sit and have morning coffee/tea and an evening cocktail. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The bedrooms are of generous size and have blinds that actually close and beds that are quite comfortable. The bathrooms are modern and large, and there is even a lovely outdoor shower. Honestly, we did not want to leave.
We found this Wellfleet house comfortable, homely and a lovely place to stay. It is slightly off the beaten track so we had to drive quite a bit, but that also meant we didn't feel the crowds of Cape Cod. We also liked Wellfleet itself, in particular the excellent restaurants. Marty was very friendly, efficient and helpful and left lots of good recommendations in the house for things to do and places to eat. We recommend the whale watching!
This home had everything that I would put in a vacation home of my own. Great pots for cooking, Amazing deck with great views space for entertaining and relaxing. Proximity to the shore so that you get that lovely sea breeze wafting in.
