The US Virgin Islands are truly America's Paradise. Average daily temperature in Feb. is 82; average daily temperature in July is 84; what's not to like. Beautiful beaches, great water sports, a Robert Trent Jones, Sr. golf course, and beautiful sun drenched tropical gardens of flowers and more flowers.

And nothing beats having your own home away from home with all the amendities you could want. You can eat every meal out, or buy local fish from Cruzian fisherman that sell it from there boats; then grill it at the outdoor gas grille by the pool.

Why The Owner chose St. Croix

Twenty-seven years ago, my wife and I wanted to get away for 'just a week' but we didn't want to chance a cold spell in Florida. And we didn't want to leave the safety of the USA. So we traveled to the USVI, St. Croix. Knowing nothing about our destination except it was in the Virgin Islands, we discovered a lifestyle change that has lasted and will continue to last for our entire life.

What makes this condo unique

Why did we chose St. Croix for our home away from home after vacationing there two years in a row? The one overriding reason was the people. The friendliness of the people and the great weather, coupled with the pace of life on the island, slow and slower, make it the ideal get away spot. You MUST say hello or good morning/afternoon/evening to all the locals and everyone with whom you come in contact or pass on the street. It is considered very rude not to do this. When you do, you will be rewarded with a wide smile and friendly return of the greeting in almost every case. The local Crucian people are wonderful. I can't tell you how gracious and helpful they will be to you.

When you drive on island, you will be amazed that everyone stops to let everyone else out of shopping malls, and side streets. Then you get a 'honk' to acknowledge your kindness. So don't forget to 'honk' when someone lets you into traffic or to turn in front of them. After over 28 years, it still amazes me.

Because the restaurants are all very casual and our having a full size washer and dryer in the unit, you can often pack a carry-on with bathing suit and a few things for a weeklong stay or longer. We had a family of four adults (mom, dad, and two grown daughters) that did exactly that. Getting into and out of airports easily with no baggage fees is a pleasure.

Restaurant Entrance a few steps from the Condo: Smuggler's Cove Restaurant has a private gate entrance from our complex. Great Pizza; Texas Hold 'em Card games during the week Great Entertainment on the Week-ends Breezes is only a few hundred yards down the beach. Good food, reasonably priced. Both are fun places

Great vacationr

We enjoyed a lovely time at Colony Cove St. croix USVI? The condo was beautiful and well maintained.

We enjoyed going to different beaches and particularly enjoyed Sady Point which is only open on weekends.

This 2 bedroom 2 bath condo felt like being at home. The kitchen is very well eguipt. The large balcony gives you a great view of the ocean and the garden. A nice place to relax.

There are 2 restaurants on close properties no need to drive.

We have already booked this condo for next year.

Owner's Response: So happy you enjoyed your stay. I try to make sure I update the condo on a regular basis. I just purchased a new refrigerator and new stove top oven. Both bathrooms were renovated in 2015. I want my condo to be first class!

Looking Forward to Returning for another Wonderful Vacation!

It has been wonderful renting from Lynda and George for the last 6 years, returning, to what has become our home away from home.The comfort and convenience was only increased by two beautifully renovated bathrooms. The new beach chairs were also great. This unit is conveniently located on the second floor with a beautiful view of the gardens, the pool and distant views of Christiansted. Once you arrive you will never want to leave.

Hi great condo, great location!

Enjoyed one week at this lovely condo...selected because of the comfy covered lanai which did not disappoint! Great spot to dine, rocking chairs and chaise lounges. The location is central to all this friendly island has to offer..especially the scenic north shore with great beaches and bars to enjoy the view....like Hawaii without the crowds! Also great to walk out the door for a quick meal/painkiller at the Golden Rail most nights with music...did not hear music from condo. Enjoyed pizza and salad from Un Amore on the condo lanai, later a delicious meal at this nearby bistro! Great tv and wi-fi. St Croix, along with condo, offers much better value than nearby St John and St Thomas.

Great rental on the water!

I recently stayed with my fiance and his mom for 5 nights at the condo and it was perfect for us. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms was very convenient, the balcony was perfect, there was ice in the freezer, towels in closet (beach towels at the front desk whenever you need them) and all of the kitchen amenities you need!

The restaurant next door is the Golden Rail and it's awesome! The people that work there are so nice (especially Regina!) and the food was the best that we found (ate at Breezes and Rum Runners but Golden Rail beat them both)! Pizzas were amazing and so was the lobster and conch. We love local places that have a local flavors so if you enjoy more Americanized food then you may prefer the other restaurants that I mentioned.

Taxi service is few and far between but Big John was awesome (got his name and number from the folks at Golden Rail). Sounds like renting a car is best but if you don't plan to venture out much go ask them for his number and he will take care of you.

We did the Big Beard Buck Island tour and that was great - nice people. Other than that we were at our beach by the condo or at the pool, relaxing and soaking in the sun!

Look No Further - THIS IS IT

This is HOME away from HOME. I arrived in St. Croix with a bunch of ideas as to how to spend my time on the island. When I checked in and saw the property grounds, I didn't want to do ANYTHING but spend time there. Nice little slice of beach, 2 great pools, Bar, Restaurants (Perfect). As far as the actual condo, It's geared up with everything you could ask for. We packed light and did Laundry in the unit. We used the blender for banana daiquiris. We prepared breakfast daily and ate on the balcony overlooking the water. If you are someone like me that will spend HOURS trying to find something perfect...STOP....you've found it.

You rise almost every morning to a fabulous sunrise coming over the island from the east. You can drive (on the left) all over the island to enjoy magnificent beaches; snorkeling and scuba; night scuba diving at the pier in Fredericksted; sailing to and snorkeling at the only underwater national park in the US parks system, Buck Island; you can go on eco-hikes to natural mineral hot baths; at the right time of year, you can arrange to see the sea turtles nest at Sandy Point; you can fish and grille the catch at the pool; eat out at a plethora of great restaurants; play golf at the Robert Trent Jones, Sr. golf course or the Buccaneer with it's fabulous views; you can drive to Point Udall and stand on the furthest Eastern point of the United States of America; you can drive into the rain forest and visit the beer-drinking pigs; you can go into downtown Christiansted and shop at the duty free shops and the wonderful art galleries full of art from local and famous artists; you can take the Sea Plane from downtown Christiansted to Charlotte Amalie Harbor on St. Thomas and spend the day there, shopping and eating; or just plop-down by the pool or beach and soak in the warm Caribbean sun.

You get the best of all worlds at our condo. While being an Ocean Front Property with all the amenities of your home at your fingertips in a gated community, you are on an island in the Caribbean with all the fun and sun things to do; being in the United States, the USVI has all the 'comforts' of home, but you only need a US driver’s license or other valid i.d. not a passport to travel here. You can literally walk a few blocks to the main road to find grocery stores the same as a Giant or Kroger; McDonalds; Subway; KFC: Fitness Centers; etc.

As you will see from reading our VRBO reviews, we go to great lengths to make your stay at our condo an enjoyable one. Thank you for considering our 'home away from home' for your vacation destination. We hope to hear from you.

Cancellation Policy: Full Refund of deposit if cancellation is 120 or more days prior to beginning of rental; 75% Refund of deposit if cancellation is 90 or more days but less than 120 days prior to the beginning of rental; 25% Refund of deposit if cancellation is 60 or more days prior to but less than 90 days before the beginning of rental; No Refund of deposit if cancellation is inside 60 days prior to the beginning of the rental.
