About Donna Scott
We bought two chalets at Mystic Springs as vacation properties/investments to enjoy with our two daughters while living in Edmonton. We loved Canmore so much, we moved here permanently in 2005. As an avid outdoor family, we've hiked, biked, kayaked, rock-climbed, nordic and downhill skied everywhere throughout our wonderful area -- Canmore and Banff are truly a mountain lovers four season paradise. We know you'll love it too!
Donna Scott purchased this Townhome in 2003
Why Donna Scott chose Canmore
This is by far the most unique family friendly property in Canmore. Only 44 townhome-style units comprise this quaint resort and all are wrapped around a beautiful courtyard that houses a huge outdoor pool that is heated year-round and a fabulous 12-person hot tub. We loved the fact that you can drive right up to your chalet - no elevators, long corridors to deal with while unloading all your gear. It is a full 2 storey townhome concept so there is no one tromping around on top of you either - nice and quiet! Our chalets also have ski lockers to safely store your gear. There are picnic tables and barbecues beside the pool area that are available to use. There is also a common area movie/games room with a 65' flat screen 3D TV equipped with XBox Kinect, 3D movies and ping pong/foos ball tables everyone will enjoy. A true home away from home in a friendly, intimate boutique resort community.

Beautiful Relaxing Place
We really enjoyed this site. Everything was very clean and cozy. Hot Tub was delightful after a full day of hiking.
One of the nicer units
Nice decor, warmly decorated. The amenities is disappointing.
Pool is not warm enough to swim. Everyone piled into the hot tub. A bit tight. Property is a bit dated.
Dirty and noisy
We were rather disappointed in this property. Upon arrival we immediately noticed a broken drawer in the kitchen and broken curtain rod in the master bedroom which meant the curtains could not be closed. Upon opening drawers and cupboards we found old food crumbs, crusted food in pots and pans, food debris on and in the appliances, and just a general lack of attention to detail in the cleanliness of the place. While the owner was quick to respond to my message aabout these concerns and was very apologetic, she seemed to think it was only because the cleaner had been in a hurry. The broken items were repaired the next day and the owner did offer to have the cleaner come back and do another clean. However, our observation was given the amount of dust, crud, food, and debris that we seemed to find everytime we moved something, the lack of cleaning was a long-standing issue.
Additionally, this unit and the property in general is not disability-friendly. Both bedrooms and bathrooms are on the second floor. The sidewalks in and around the unit are uneven paving stones (I assume to make them "quaint") so are not suited to wheelchairs, or anyone with mobility or balance issues. This should probably be noted in the property description some where. There is also a major condo construction going on next door. Overall, not the restful, quiet spot we understood it to be.
The location was great and quiet. It was clean and neat. I would say, it needs a set of nicer pans for cooking, more kitchen towels & washcloths. The master bed was missing the top sheet. Needs better living room furniture. We couldn't get the gas fireplace to work and couldn't find instructions. The fridge works great. All in all it was a pleasant experience.
Nice condo. Like a home away from home.
Thanks Wilson! That's exactly what we love to hear - a home away from home with all the amenities and comforts you'd expect and enjoy. Do come again!

Out'n About Vacations
Great! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Our family of 4 adults and 1 child were very happy with this vacation rental. The location is fantastic, the rental was clean and well stocked. Some reviewers complained about lack of towels for the pool but we always bring beach towels in case of impromptu "feet in the creek" moments so it really wasn't an issue. It's great having a full kitchen and use of a BBQ. We had cause to call the maintenance guy when the flush broke in the master bath and he was there within minutes. No comments about the TV as we didn't turn it on once (yep - we were having THAT much outdoor fun!). Donna was very responsive to emails. Right now (August 2019) there is some construction going on just down the street which can be a little noisy in the mornings (they start at 7am). Didn't bother us as we are up and about anyway but for night owls who like to sleep in this could be a bit of a problem. Anyway, we loved it and wouldn't hesitate to book again if we stayed in Canmore (better than Banff in my opinion). Thanks Donna!
Oh happy day! Thanks for your kind review of our Canmore chalet -- agreed our location is awesome - so close to town and numerous activities while avoiding the congestion/high tourism issues over in Banff. Please do come again!

Out'n About Vacations
Surrounded by the magnificent Canadian Rockies, the town of Canmore is one of the most beautiful communities in Canada. Just an hour and 15 minutes from the Calgary International Airport and five minutes from Banff National Park east gate, Canmore offers a spectacular location with unequalled 4 seasons of outdoor recreational opportunities. World class restaurants and unique, original shopping experiences await you in the heart of some of the world's most breathtaking scenery. Neighbouring Kananaskis Country offers a scenic recreation area made up of more than 4,000 square kilometers of mountain parks.
In April 2013, Canmore opened it's brand new $40M recreation center facility -- Elevation Place -- boasting a huge pool, watersides, lazy river, hot tub, exercise/fitness facility, a new library and amazing rock climbing walls. Year' round cultural events, festivals, art galleries and theatrical programs also thrive here with more than 200 artists and artisans calling our small community home.
Canmore is an eclectic mix of old wild west hospitality combined with all the modern services amenities you'd expect in a first class resort community. It's residents are friendly - in fact, we've been voted some of the most happy people in Canada. Come visit and see for yourself eh!
