We are back home and all is well. Our time at Bear Creek was very special and just what we hoped for. Everything was as expected and promised. We are discussing our next visit to Bear Creek.
Upon arrival, the property was clean and ready! Some minor deck repairs were made the next day. Very timely and professional. These owners get it. Awesome deck, kitchen and living area are warm and functional. Peaceful area on a dead end road! Just a short drive to every need you might have. The pontoon boat is refreshing. The ability to comfortably navigate through the channels from lake to lake was a daily treat! We should have planned two weeks to fully appreciate the property. THANK-YOU STACIA & NICK!
Had a lovely week at a beautiful cabin. Bedrooms on the smaller side, steep walk to the pier, nothing that is unreasonable at all however, especially given the price. There was a storm while we were there, a tree fell over the steps and broke the railing, owner had someone there within 24 hours (less actually) to fix it. Was very responsive to messages. Such a beautiful place and area! The only problems we had were things previous renters left, such as not leaving pontoon tanks full (which owner offered to reimburse me for), leaving a broken cap on gas tank (so we replaced). Our 7 year old caught his first fish all by himself and was pretty excited about it. The rest of us caught plenty of fish also. Lakes were pretty quiet and everyone around was very respectful of each other.
We LOVED our week in this cabin!!!
We needed extra room on Chain Lake for a family reunion. This site was perfect. It was in easy walking distance of the rest of the group. And we loved the accommodations. They were what everyone pictures a northwoods cabin should be. The only negative I have is not with the place, but with the business handling the place. I did not liked being bugged by advertising and moneyh-making deals for them. Also, the communication was difficult AND the address was hard to find until I got the email giving me the final details just before we left to go there. Otherwise it was a very good experience and we look forward to rebooking for next year.
We spent Labor Day weekend with our daughter, son in law and their three children age 6 and under. The cozy cabin over looking the lake was the perfect setting for our family get together. The neat little kitchen had all the necessities for cooking, and the dining table was just the right size for dining and crafting. Also provided were many games and movies as well as reading material to enjoy on a rainy day. We especially enjoyed the use of the pontoon boat; taking a long boat ride through the beautiful tree lined chain of lakes. Our grandchildren delighted in seeing the many ducks and their ducklings, turtles and frogs, and we were all in awe of the bald eagles soaring over head. First time fishermen our little ones are "hooked" as they each caught several fish. We also enjoyed our trip into town, spotting deer along the road as we drove. We hope to return to Eagle River and Bear Creek Cabin to create more memories with our family.
My husband and I stayed here for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The place was immaculate and decorated very nicely. The view was beautiful and it was on a quiet part of the lake, so we truly relaxed and enjoyed the amazing fall colors. The location is also very convenient, we toured the local winery, went to a festival in a nearby town and ate at two of the nearby restaurants which were excellent. We would love to return again whether alone or with friends and family. Although, we didn't go boating, it was also nice to know we could have used the pontoon boat or even kayaked. We would highly recommend this lovely property for anyone, families, couples, etc.
The owners attempted to make the stay as nice as possible. Area was beautiful. Home not quite as advertised. Only the two bedrooms were able to be slept in, basement cold wet and musty. Pull out bed = torture device. Refrigerator was broken when we arrived, and was not replaced until the last 2 days of our stay. Lived out of coolers all week, needing to run to town to buy ice and groceries constantly, plus lost groceries we had brought with us with the understanding it was a working kitchen. We spent a lot of time on the phone dealing with owners/delivery people etc. when we were on vacation. In general not an ideal experience, although we tried to make the best of it.
