The weather was great but disappointed in the Condo we stayed in.
The picture on the web site looked different then the condo. Bedroom drawer didn't work well, needed lightbulbs replaced some burned out. Some of the furniture legs were broken. Would go throw itripvacations again but would like to be insured the place we pick is nicer then the one we stayed in this time.
Very happy with the property. It was as described and clean. Very convenient to the beach. Would recommend.
This unit gets only 3 stars from me mainly because of things that were not something the owner had any control of, - however, they were certainly a major impact on our only week of vacation:
1) Upon arrival, a note was taped to the door that stated there would be digital cable updates in the building this week and workers would be in and out of all units, as well as outside, on ladders, walkways, etc. - This process turned out to be very noisy all week, with drilling, hammering, etc. waking you up, in & out of the unit, once I was getting in the shower, once I was napping, etc. and I did not like having our purses, etc. there while at the beach with workers in & out. I did not appreciate this at all, though I guess it has to be done sometime, but that should not be my problem at peak vacation time for a lot of money spent on this week.
2) This is first time we stayed on the first floor - kids over head ran the length of condo all week with our ceiling lights shaking - again, not enjoyable.
3) The street facing bedroom is actually at the walkway for complex with the head of bed right there, with only blinds, it's very bright at night and we hung an extra sheet over so we felt like people couldn't see our heads. The ceiling fan light was broke (we changed bulbs, but the pull chains had been pulled out completed, switch on wall only worked the fan), so we only had mini lamps with a chandiler bulb for lights in this room. The first 2 nights the mattress kept falling down into what I thought was a bad platform frame, however my husband said this is horrible, took off the mattress to look and the box springs was upside down!!! We flipped it over right, put the bed back together, along with actually putting the frame itself together correctly too and it was a wonderful sleeping bed, great in fact!
4) The unit itself, was nice, clean, well stocked, as represented in the ad and the people at check in for the keys were extremely nice and ready for us.
I would not stay on the first floor again personally and the due to the workers I feel we were cheated out of a nice relaxing vacation, as well as the money I spent, this was not a fair deal. I was ready to go home unfortunately. I don't have interruptions at my home or constant noise, I definitely don't expect it all day every day on vacation.
We chose this condo because of the relaxed, beachy feeling we got from looking at the property photos, and we weren't disappointed. We enjoyed the casual atmosphere inspired by the wall decorations and murals. The bedrooms were a nice size, and there was a very nice kitchen with all the amenities, also a stacked washer/dryer. The dryer started up a little noisily and took a couple of cycles to dry clothes, but other than that it was okay. The condo was essentially clean and neat. The owners were very responsive to our inquiries. Everything you need is located within a short driving distance from the Surfside Beach area...restaurants, grocery store, gas station, putt-putt, beach shops, ice cream, etc. The only negative for me with this unit is that it was a "side" unit set back from the more central units, so although it was oceanfront, we did not have a full view of the beach from our balcony. We could only view the beach area immediately in front of us and to the left. We didn't realize that when we reserved the unit, but it really wasn't a deal breaker though because of course we got to see plenty of the beach when we were out there! There was no elevator. That wasn't too bad because we were on the first level, but using stairs is becoming a little problematic for our knees as we get older. Also, fireworks are not allowed at Surfside. All in all, I would definitely recommend this condo as a nice, easy-going, relaxation inspiring place to spend your vacation.
Initially I was a little upset because I felt the condo wasn"t as clean in the bathrooms as I thought it should be. Also the lamp fixtures were dirty and when I went to put in a new light bulb in the ceiling fan it was very dirty. At first glance it seemed fairly clean. It was also smaller than it looked online. The parking was a little cramped for a Chevy Avalanche too. I thought at least "one" extra roll of TP in the bathrooms would have been good. Now, on the good notes: the kitchen was stocked with lots of dishes, glasses, silverware and pots and pans. Loved the tiled flooring and the view from the balcony. All in all I'd might recommend it, but thought it was a little over priced once you added all the taxes and extras.
Does it get any better than staying oceanfront at the beach? From the moment we walked in we felt like we were at home. Surfside is my favorite beach, my family has been coming here for 23 years, so it was nice to find another nugget of perfection. The beds were great, there was plenty of seating in the living room and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need and more. Since we ate in often having all the accessories one needs to cook was a huge plus. Being able to sit back and relax was absolutely wonderful...I love island time! River City Cafe by the pier is always a favorite place of ours, they have great food and the atmosphere is fun! Also, Murrell's Inlet is a great place to get some yummy seafood, our favorite place is Creek Ratz. We hated to have to leave such a great location and I'm hoping that we will be able to stay here again.
Myrtle Beach is a unique vacation destination that has a little bit of everything, and no matter which one of our Myrtle Beach home rentals you choose, you’ll be nearby beautiful beaches, shopping centers, golf courses, fishing, restaurants, theaters and nightlife. Perfect for either families or couples, our Myrtle Beach home rentals offer luxurious and convenient amenities; beautiful décor; access to pristine beaches; and magical views of the sparkling Atlantic Ocean!
The Grand Strand is a large stretch of beautiful beaches where many of our Myrtle Beach home rentals are located. Once a hiding place popular among notorious pirates, today among America’s most popular vacation destinations, Myrtle Beach’s Grand Strand offers a wide variety of recreation and entertainment activities. Start with miles and miles of golden soft sand on a shore that slopes gently into the Atlantic. The Grand Strand was voted #1 in the USA (#6 in the world) in a recent poll of frequent travelers.
The communities just south of our Grand Strand Myrtle Beach home rentals, Surfside Beach and Garden City, are our most “family friendly” areas and offer scores of reasonably priced ocean front Myrtle Beach condo rentals for family enjoyment of the warm sunshine, sand, and the vast Atlantic. Many of these condos are large enough to accommodate several families, a perfect reunion setting.
Golf is the “national” pastime of The Grand Strand. Some say you can play a different course every day of the year. That’s probably an exaggeration, but certainly you can play 36 holes a day for a week, (or a month) without seeing the same course twice. There are well over 100 golf courses to choose from near many of our Myrtle Beach home rentals. Fishing is the lesser-known area sport. Inland waterways and shallow coastline areas offer anglers lots of action, with guides available to show the way.
A perfect family vacation area, there are dozens of attractions and amusement parks close to many of our Myrtle Beach home rentals for kids of all ages. The new SkyWheel, a 200 foot high Ferris wheel, is an amazing attraction and is said to be among the largest in the world. Also not far from many of our Myrtle Beach home rentals are zoos, an aquarium (with a dozen species of sharks!), science and curiosity exhibits and museums for family entertainment. Surfside Beach and Garden City both offer amusement parks the kids and parents alike will love.
For a combination of art, culture and nature many of our Myrtle Beach home rentals are right near Brookgreen Gardens. This 9,000 acre park exhibits one of the largest collections of sculpture by American artists in the world. The manicured lawns with walkways and pools beautifully enhance these spectacular works of art.
Restaurants are everywhere, with options for every taste and budget. Just about every cuisine in the world seems to be represented all only a short ways from many of our Myrtle Beach home rentals. Seafood is, of course, the staple, there are a large selection of places to get all you want. Murrell’s Inlet says it’s the Seafood Capital of South Carolina, and boasts a long row of highly regarded seafood restaurants to prove it.
Nightlife? If you’re not worn out yet, choose from live popular music, professionally produced stage shows, and “tribute” acts that pay homage to the legends of popular music, playing “oldies” that are sure to bring back memories.
