My Condo is rented as. a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit but can be rented as a 1 bedroom 1bath. For rates see notes in rate section.
My condo is a spacious and luxurious 2 bedroom/2 bath, 1500 square foot unit. It is one of the few condos that is on the water and on the first level so you avoid a lot of stairs. This is in contrast to other units which just have an ocean view. Read what a recent visitor from Sweden said. "Hi Jay, Everything is fantastic!! We have been out diving several times and doing some fishing as well. Your condo is marvelous, fully equiped with everything one could ask for. We very much enjoyed our stay."
Read on to learn more about my condo or better yet, watch my video to see the many reasons you will want to reserve A3.
No matter what you do at the Grand Caribe: Relaxing at one of seven swimming pools while enjoying a drink at the swim-up bar, taking an all day adventure to the most spectacular Barrier Reef snorkeling and scuba sites, in the Northern Hemisphere, cave tubing or visiting ancient Mayan ruins, you will relish the thought of returning to your condo to enjoy the comforts of your relaxing, perfectly appointed and air conditioned retreat.
The condo is complete with a gourmet kitchen fully equipped with everything you need to prepare a dinner of delicacies. The master bedroom suite has a king bed and views of the Caribbean. The master bath has a Jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower There are 3 flat screen TV's with satellite programming. One is in each bedroom and one is in the living room. Wireless internet access is available at no charge. Luxurious bed linens, pillows and coverlets grace each bedroom. The furniture and art work, created in Belize, reflect the traditions of the tropics. Canterra tile floors provide a cool and relaxing atmosphere along with mahogany cabinetry and ceiling fans.
The location surpasses all others. It is a short golf cart ride to the charming fishing village of San Pedro and walking distance to many excellent restaurants and bars.
To give you a more complete description I have included a Welcome message that guests find in my condo to guide them on their way to a 'Luxurious Adventure'.
Welcome to Mr Jay’s Casa de Belize
Upon arrival you will be greeted at the front desk by friendly staff that will be taking care of all your needs during your stay at the Grand Caribe Belize Resort. While you are there, make a reservation for the onsite restaurant “Rain” for early cocktails and dinner for that night. You will find excellent food and great ambiance at this roof top, 4th floor restaurant and terrace named Rain. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hugo master chef, originally from Spain and his wife Victoria, own and manage the restaurant with spectacular views of the Caribbean. This year they have opened a new and very romantic, Italian inspired restaurant on the third level below Rain named Uvo, specializing in homemade pasta, seafood and daily gourmet fare.
In the morning have breakfast at Ak-Bol, a yoga retreat. Make it there before 10 AM to get a good seat at the bar looking out to the sea. You will find this “Cheers” kind of place about 200 yards to the south (REMEMBER LEFT FOOT IN THE WATER, YOU ARE GOING SOUTH, RIGHT FOOT IN THE WATER YOU ARE GOING NORTH). Say hi to Melio, the owner, originally from Chicago and his wife Kirsten who I'm told is one of the best yoga instructors in Belize. Favorite delights: start with a Belican beer and I suggest you have a couple of salbutes or puposas (chicken, beef or fish). This and a little Maria’s hot sauce and you will be ready for whatever the day has to offer. You also may want to try their Fry Jacks with a fresh tropical fruit plate, most delicious. Morning and afternoon Yoga classes are available for a small fee. One and a half hour full body massage in their upstairs grass hut is highly recommended. You can ask Melio when you are at Ak-Bol to make a reservation.
There are many excursions to enjoy. There is a detail description of each in the information booklet in your unit. Call the Grand Caribe concierge to book your tours including the Lamanai Jungle River Cruise and Mayan Ruins excursion. Want to relax? Spend some time at the swim-up pool bar and café serving tropical drinks and local fare. If you go fishing you can bring back your catch and have the pool cafe prepare it or take it to Akbol to make a feast for you.
Water taxis are readily available for transportation North and South. Have the front desk notify the dock attendant to hail one down. Golf carts are available for rent through Grand Caribe. Dial 0 for the front desk to make a reservation. They have carts available at the resort. You can rent for the day or by the hour if you need a quick trip to town. Carts are a good way to explore the fishing village of San Pedro. It is a charming Caribbean town with good shopping, grocery stores and plenty of bars and restaurants. There is a $5 US round trip toll to cross the bridge into San Pedro. Stop by Fido’s for a drink and I’m told it’s a great place in the evening to see and be seen in town. Also the Blue Water Grill near the airport is on the beach and serves very good local fare. You might want to explore the beautiful resort of Victoria House just a little south of San Pedro.
Other Restaurants to Try:
Palapas, just north of San Pedro at the hardware store circle is a thatched roof bar and restaurant. Good place to hang out and feel the sway of the sea while enjoying good food and drinks. Ask the bartender for markers to add your name to the rungs of the railings. Tell them Mr. Jay sent you and ask for a “Lou” burger”, a specialty created by Lou Gentine of Sargento Cheese Company of Plymouth, Wisconsin. We were all together when Lou concocted this most unusual burger and it has now made its way as a permanent item on the menu.
Ahi Restaurant is just a little north of the Grand Caribe. Take the road or beach path. Lovely outdoor restaurant on the water. Quaint and romantic.
A must do, Sunday Funday at Crazy Canuks, just south of the airport. Live local talent starts playing around 3PM great fun afternoon.
Some Things to Know:
Wireless Internet service is available at no charge. You can log on to either Belkin.ad4 password ce866cb4. Or you can log onto Grand Caribe Guest password ilovegrandcaribe. This one is good if you want to use the Internet at the pool.
The paintings in the Condo were purchased at Belize Arts which is located on the city map (E4) located next doorway, north of Catholic church, east side of front street, next to Fido’s Bar & Restaurant. Introduce yourself to Lindsey, the owner, she is from England. This is a wonderful art gallery and gift shop. You will certainly find some treasure there to take home.
Belize exchange rate - $2 BLZ to $1 US. ATM’s are available at Banks in San Pedro.

Best place ever! Felt like going back "home"!
We stayed in this same suite several years ago and going back felt like we were "at home". The staff there is amazing, and the condo has fantastic views! Spacious for sure, upgraded, and certainly top notch as far as being maintained. You will not be disappointed with this condo, the resort, or your stay here. Convenient to several places to eat, as the food is also very good. There is certainly nothing I can add that needs improvement, other than the guest book is full so we needed another one to write in! :) Jay, your condo is our absolute favorite and we hope to be living in Belize one day, and when we do, we will miss being in this condo while there! Thank you for everything! It was such a great experience in dealing with you, as well as having the luxury and comfort of this condo. Until next time... keep providing this greatness! "10"!! "High five"! "Cheers"!
Thank you for your glowing recommendation. Happy to hear you love being in A3. Please think of it as your home away from home. Kindest regards. Jay
Grand Caribe A3
We had a wonderful time this past week at the Grand Caribe resort.
The unit was beautiful and the staff was excellent.
The food in the resort was very good and our dining experience in the local restaurants was outstanding.
The resort was very clean and well kept, everyone was very helpful and was there for any of our requests.
This was our first trip to Belieze but most defiantly not our last.
A real 5 star vacation.
Thank you for your review. We very much appreciate your comments.
We're pleased that you enjoyed the condo. It is one of the few units that are on the water and on the first level so that you avoid a lot of stairs.
Hope you can return.
Beautiful location and amenities
I would highly recommend Grand Caribe and unit A3. We had a view of the beach and the 2 bedroom 2 bath was spacious and clean. Just a little north of San Pedro had you away from it all yet easy access to explore. I would recommend the golf cart rental easily set up with the concierge. There are great restaurants nearby at all price points.
A day sail trip to Caye Caulker was great, also set up by the concierge. We hope to go back.
Also, you can consider packing light, housekeeping does do your laundry. This was amazing! :)
Hi Kathy. Thank you for your glowing review. I agree, an all day sail is such fun and relaxing. I'm happy the concierge was able to take care of booking your activities. With golf carts right on property it is easy to run into town for an hour or two. Hope you will visit again and ask for unit A3. Best wishes. Jay
Beautiful Condo in Paradise
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely condo. It was appointed with everything that we could possibly want. The beds were so comfortable - and it was nice that the bed in the second bedroom could be divided into two single beds for my kids. We were offered housekeeping every day and our laundry was done when needed at no additional charge. It was so convenient.
The resort is magnificent. We rented a golf cart from Grand Caribe and traveled into San Pedro daily for food or shopping. There were 5 or 6 pools for the kids to swim and play. The concierge was very helpful in arranging snorkeling trips and helping us re-arrange our flights to Belize City. Everyone in the resort was so friendly. We will definitely return.
Amanda, Thaks for the review. The Grand Caribe is truly a bit of heaven and the staff is
Outstanding. They go out of their way to make our guests feel like part of the family.
Plenty of things to do to keep everyone happy.
Be sure to come back.
A little taste of Paradise
We had an awesome week at your place. Went to our favorite bars and restaurants, went snorkeling , tried para sailing, took long walks on the beach and sat out in the cool air on the porch many times. The condo was 1st class all the way and the folks at Grande Caribe could not have done a better job. Oh I forgot to mention the most important part, on 5-11-17 we were married on the beach right there at the resort . Could not have picked a better day and view. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay there. WE WLL BE BACK !
Thank you very much for your review and glowing remarks about my condo. Congratulations on your marriage. I have witnessed weddings at the Grand Caribe and I must say it is one of the best for a destination wedding. I hope you will visit again. Maybe for a one year anniversary?
Well-maintained and relaxing!
This was our second trip to Ambergris Caye. The property is perfect for those looking to just "chill" on the beach. The unit itself is well-equipped & clean. Best part was the daily (free) laundry service (you can pack light!). The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially when we needed to rent golf carts to drive to town. There were a few things missing - the concierges, although friendly, were unable to set up excursions that met our expectations. If you are looking for high-end excursions like we were, you might be better served to research/schedule these activities ahead of time.
Hi Paula. Thank you for taking the time to write a review on my condo at the Grand Caribe. I was disappointed to hear that the concierge was unable to book the higher-end experiences you were looking to enjoy. Your comment about booking with the concierge prior to the trip is well taken. I will send your review to the manager of the resort to alert them on how to improve the conseirge services. Thank you for your kind remarks about my unit and I agree with you, daily laundry service is a true added benefit. I hope you will visit again. Jay
