Successful entrepreneur that believes that you should live each day like it's your last. What would you do if you had 3 years to live? I would travel the world and see places and do things that most people only dream about.
I truly believe that you should be with the person you enjoy being with, you should visit the cities you've always dreamed of visiting and you should live in a city that you are passionate about. I found that most people complain about various aspects of their lives yet they do nothing to change it.
To me it's very simple. If you aren't happy with your partner you find another one. If you don't like your job - quit and find another one. If you don't like the city you are living in - move to another one that you like better. Life is what you make of it.
Most people lead very ordinary lives. They have an ordinary job, live in an ordinary house and do ordinary things. I found that if you want an extraordinary life you must do extraordinary things.
Mike - MikesBAapartments.com purchased this apartment in 2003
I purchased this property back in 2003 due to the charming building and wonderful location. The property has original hardwood flooring, high ceilings and has the feel of being in Paris. There is a large grocery store around the corner and the subway is a few blocks away. Everything you could possibly need is all within a few short blocks.
I invested quite a bit of money renovating the bathroom and putting in sound proof windows so it's an amazing place to stay.
I constantly am trying to improve the property and recently added new LCD TV's in both the bedroom and the living room, APPLE TV unit. It's a very comfortable apartment.
Also, I own several properties in the same area in Recoleta if you are staying with family/friends and all want to be in the same area. I also own several properties in Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood so feel free to email me about those properties as well.
Location, location, location. It doesn't get much better.
I have rented MikesBAapartments.com properties 4 times in the last few years. I stayed in this property on a week long trip that was part business and part vacation. I prefer to stay in and around Recoleta.
This apartment is a short walk to the main shopping/eating area. The building is quiet and clean and located very close to a market for those that plan to cook some of their meals. I found this property to be a very good value particularly when compared to hotel costs in the area.
My first two trips I stayed in Recoleta area hotels and was not impressed yet saw the price to stay nearly double over 1 year. I will always rent apartments when in BA and this property is a fine choice. I would rent this property again.
Property # 348404ha in the Recoleta neighborhood in Buenos Aires was comfortable and satisfactory. The internet stopped working on the second day of my stay and despite repeated efforts to "re-boot" I was forced to go across the street to gain "wi-fi" access. However the apartment was nice and completely
functional in every way. However, Recoleta is a good distance from the actual downtown area...so be prepared to take a bus or cab, to reach other parts of
the city. The historical cemetery 2 blocks away, is a nice area and definitely worth seeing. The airport ride service ( especially if utilizing , EZE } was great.
I would utilize the apartment again.
We elected to stay in Mike's apartment on Pueyrredon for 1 week in early June. The apartment's location was such that we were able to walk to many places from the apartment. There is a full grocery store within 1/2 block and it is very easy to hail a taxi right in front of the building. The subte (subway)is within walking distance as well. Although Pueyrredon is a busy street, the apartment was pretty quiet for sleeping (I am a light sleeper.) The apartment is as pictured on the website. The apartment is in an older building with an elevator; the security is good. The kitchen, bathrooms, bedroom furniture, and electronics have been updated, although the apartment itself is a bit dated. The apartment was very neat and clean. Mike's coworkers were very responsive to our needs. We used Mike's driver, Jaime, to and from EZE and we were very glad that we did as we landed at 5 am. There were some additional things that we needed due to it being winter in Buenos Aires and these items (extra blanket and portable heater) were delivered on the same day to the apartment. We were very glad that we rented in this location. Booking was easy, last minute changes due to flight changes with transport were easily accommodated, and check in/check out were convenient. We've rented in many countries and location is always the key to a successful rental property for us.
I rented this apartment along with another one a few blocks away for some family members. Both properties were very comfortable. Before booking, I called the owner Mike and he answered all my questions and booking was very easy. He explained that he had just updated several items in the property and the apartment was exactly what I expected from photos. (In fact better as there was a huge new TV in the living room).
I loved the location because everything we needed was a few blocks in any direction. There is a comfortable sofa bed in the living room which they supplied with pillows and blankets.
We spent a fabulous vacation in Buenos Aires in large part due to this unit.
If you want to rent with confidence, rent from Mike. The apartment will be exactly as described and the service is fantastic. You will not be disappointed. We took Mike's transfer service to and from the airport. Although it might be slightly more expensive it is definitely worth it to coordinate checking in and out of the apartment. It also is very dependable.
Our apartment was very well located. It is a very safe neighborhood and we felt very comfortable here. It is about 3 blocks from the subway (very easy and inexpensive to ride) next door to a major K-Mart style grocery store and within walking distance of the cemetery.
There is a manager for the building (Kala) who is very helpful and friendly. The apartment is spacious, very comfortable, well equipped and light and bright. Although it is on a major street, this particular apartment faces French.
It is amazingly quiet. I am a light sleeper and we slept with the bathroom window open every night. The only time it is noisy is on Saturday night when the neighborhood seems to party all night. You would probably not hear that if you closed the bathroom window since all of the glass is double- paned. We cooked a lot in the apartment and found it very well equipped. There was even an automatic juice squeezer.
The furniture was comfortable, the bed was comfortable. We had the apartment cleaned once and they did a great job. What more can I say? It was much better than we anticipated.. The Internet service is fast and very good. It took us awhile to work out how to use the cell -phone but it came in handy in booking restaurants on line that text you confirmations The TV only has Spanish stations so we didn't really use it. There is an I-Pod player (two in fact) and CD and DVD players. There's lots of closet and drawer space.
I was looking on VRBO for a rental in the Recoleta area of Buenos Aires and came across this apartment. It was great! I loved the style of the apartment and the feeling of being a resident rather than a hotel guest.
We were within walking distance of Recoleta cemetery and it was easy to hail taxis to travel to other areas of town. Mike and his team were really helpful and included thoughtful things in the apartment such as a cart for groceries, a local cellphone that you could purchase credit for to avoid international cell charges, CDs with tango music, referral for a very friendly airport transfer driver, good internet service, etc.
The resident apartment manager was very sweet and let my son pet her two rabbits. Overall, this was an awesome place to stay and worked out great. Good combo of classy and homey. If you are thinking of booking, do it!
We spent eight nights in this apartment in Buenos Aires in May 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed it! The apartment itself was just as advertised. All the photos accurately reflect what you will see when you get there. The place was clean and in order.
Mike and his staff were PERFECT to work with. Mike must have his smart phone with him 24/7, because every time we emailed him before, during, and after our stay, he would reply within minutes. That's great service!
The apartment location was perfect. We were within walking distance of many things to see and do in Recoleta and Palermo, and it's only a few blocks walk to a subway station. The neighborhood is very safe, with tons of people on the sidewalks night and day. We never felt unsafe for even a second.
The building is well-kept and very secure. I loved the old-fashioned elevator!
I highly recommend this apartment for anyone who is looking for a nice home-base for your BA explorations.
