|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
You will enjoy every season as each offers its own special delights for your group to enjoy in the North GA mountains: peaceful privacy, dock on quiet cove, spacious and lovely home with fun for all. Please take a minute to look at our reviews: we hope all our guests go home saying 'That was a perfect place and a great stay!'
The main level at Kedra feels like a peaceful mountain lodge with wood floors, pine-paneling, and a stacked-stone gas fireplace in the family room. This is open to the dining room with seating for 14, and our heavily equipped 3-cook kitchen. The master bedroom is also located on this level and windows line the rear of the house allowing for great views. You can step onto the covered porch to pass the afternoon in a rocking chair or porch swing.
Upstairs you will find two enormous bedrooms each outfitted to sleep a family, as well as a full bathroom. We decorated our cabin with a 'bed-&-breakfast' feel, with each bedroom having its own unique character. The lower level may be your center of activity where you can have friendly competitions in air hockey or playstation, relax by the tv, or head to the lake. Also located there are two more bedrooms and a full bath. The crowning feature in the back: walk the 75 yards down the gently-sloped property to a large firepit, sandbox, and 100 feet of lake front with a private dock and canoe on a quiet cove for swimming.
Our cabin is on a beautiful, low-traffic TVA lake and a pontoon boat is available for rental. (Please note that Lake Nottely is lowered in the winter months and during drought seasons by the TVA). The town of Blairsville is sleepy and quaint but still has plenty of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment options to suit everyone's desires. (Go to the Union County Chamber of Commerce web page for more information.)
In the end, it is our previous guest's own words that say the most about our cabin: 'beautiful... thank you for the warmth and hospitality of your home... home away from home... elegant... 2 weeks was not enough... all of our needs were met by your preparations... spacious and clean... very realxing... family friendly... we will be back!'

Welcome to our vacation home, Kedra on the Lake! We are Ralph and Ann and we are retired and live in the Metro Atlanta area. We have 4 married children and 6 grand kids who we love like crazy and with whom we share many wonderful times at Kedra through out the whole year. We would love for you to bring your crowd here too and please know that you will be treated like a treasured guest!
Kelly Finley purchased this cabin in 2004
Lake Nottely in Blairsville has the perfect combination of charm, convenience, natural beauty and remoteness that makes our trips up there so enjoyable. There is lots to do but you don't have to fight a crowd of other vacationers to do it! The house is huge and is easy for more than one family to share, giving us each a little space to breath and plenty of room to share.
Each year we add to our list of things to do, taking expeditions to find new and interesting adventures. Of course, the lake is the biggest draw... fishing, canoeing, boating, swimming; it is all heaven on this lovely, peaceful lake. We also enjoy tubing and rafting down the rivers, golfing, hiking to waterfalls, shopping and eating out at our favorite restaurants. Probably our favorite outing is to Vogel State Park, a must-do on every trip. Mostly it is time spent together, making memories and getting refreshed from the peacefullness and beauty.
Thanks much for the rental of your lake home in Blairsville. Kedra was great for our family reunion. We did rent the small cabin called “granny’s cabin” in order to have 2 additional bedrooms. It was only about 2 miles away (5 minutes), back down Pat Colwell. The owners are a very nice couple from Florida. I would highly recommend their cabin to others you rent to who need 2 addtl bedrooms.
I trust your cleaning people will find Kedra in great shape. We always take great care to leave our rentals in the best of condition. Although the water was cold, our family enjoyed two days of perfect weather and a quiet scenic retreat. We actually all left on Sunday afternoon, as only one group of three was able to stay the 3rd night. We will place your VRBO number in our vacation file for the future. And I have already provided it to a friend looking for a place this summer.
There was really only one thing that was disappointing. The lake was WAY down and we would have appreciated being forewarned about it. Apparently it had been down for quite awhile according to the neighbors.
Thank you so much. The cabin was a perfect fit for our large group. Very beautiful inside and out. Had every thing we needed. Would definitely stay there again.
Once again we had a wonderful long weekend a Kendra.
This was our Cousin trip for the year 2016.
Plenty of laughing, sharing memories of time passed, and of course shopping at Alexander's. With a lots of foods.
Already looking forward to our next trip Oct 2017.
This was our third family vacation at Kedra on the Lake, in the woods, in the hills. For two weeks our family (eight of us) canoed, fished, swam, skipped stones on the water, went for walks and hikes, played air hockey & PlayStation, grilled burgers, enjoyed a campfire, star-gazed, sat on the balcony swing, watched deer and turkey, took naps, watched movies, and read our Bibles together as a family. We also enjoyed Brasstown Bald, Pappy's on the River, and the Sorghum Festival at Meeks Park. This house is beautiful with a great view and we're looking forward to spending even more time here.
We enjoyed Labor Day weekend with our children and grandchildren at Kedra on the Lake. There was ample space for all twelve. The kitchen was large and well equipped. There is one bedroom on the main level which is nice, but the steps going up and down to the other levels were a little steep. I may have noticed this more because of problems with my feet and legs. Also the walk up the hill from the lake was pretty steep. Loved the wrap around porch, rocking chairs and swing. There was a very nice craft fair in Blairsville that we went to. We also visited Mercier's Orchards along with lots of others....very crowded! Our biggest disappointment was that the lake was so low (no fault of anyone) and also that the pontoon boat we had reserved was having engine trouble and we didn't find that out until we got there. Had we known earlier, we might could have gotten one at the Marina. but by that time they were all taken. The owner of the boat did give our refund back. There is a row boat that belongs to the house that we used. The weather was perfect and we were happy we came. The owner of Kedra was very nice and easy to work with.
Our family from all over the country rented this house for a week during the summer. As we arrived we first noticed the lawn was very high which made it difficult to make it down to the lake for elderly guests and all 3 trash cans were completely full. When we made our way inside there were multiple lights out, the washing machine didn't work but had wet towels from the previous guests or cleaning people, and the a/c struggled all week to keep the middle level cool. As the week went on we found more and more problems including sugar ants all over the counters. Then the Internet went down for 2 1/2 days. This usually isn't much of a problem with smart phone but none of us got service at this house. We contacted the agent about the Internet and she advised it was a service problem not the house or the router. A day and a half later I called her back because none of us could check into our flights. Then the Internet finally came up. Another complaint was the tvs. There is only one 32" hd tv all the others are very old and small. Lastly the grill wow I could not believe this cabin did not have a nice gas grill. Instead were 2 tiny charcoal grills that were garbage. We could not even bbq. This property needs some major updating including big screen tvs, a/c work, lights, nice big gas grill, and a new air hockey table. The washing machine got fixed (yes we had to deal with the workers on our vacation) and the lawn got mowed while we were trying to relax. We will not be renting this house again unless some changes are made especially for the amount of money that we spent.
