We loved this place! Very cute, and located right in the center of all the attractions. It was clean and cool, and the host was very easy to contact and flexible with checkout/checkin times. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun, young, and affordable spot to stay in Old San Juan.
My husband and I stayed at the apartment for 2 weeks in March 2016 and we were both very happy with our stay. I only rated four out of five stars because I think there are some small improvements that could be made to boost the overall comfort of the apartment, but I will follow up by saying this would be our first choice if/when we come back to Old San Juan in the future. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a good time in Old San Juan!
First of all, I cannot say enough about the awesome location of this apartment! Looking at a map just doesn't do it justice! You are right on the edge of all the action without being in the middle of the street parties during the weekends. You can walk around and shop all day, drop your bags off at the apartment, and go out for a night on the San Sebastian strip. If you do any tourist excursions, most of them will pick you up in Plaza Colon which is two blocks away. Two blocks away is Castillo San Cristobal and 3/4 miles away is Castillo del Morro.
The air conditioning unit worked great and kept the loft cool at night. The bed was extremely comfortable with clean fresh linens. There was a closet and dresser to unpack into upstairs and places to store our luggage downstairs. The apartment was beautifully decorated and had obviously been painted recently. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to make breakfast every morning. The apartment was very clean and well-maintained.
If I could suggest any improvements, I would say the furniture in the living room could be more comfortable although it was still quite usable. The shower curtain/rod/hooks had rusted a bit and took away from the clean feeling of the rest of the apartment a little bit. I understand it is an ocean environment and the rust is probably quite difficult to keep up with. I feel it is also worth noting that the ceiling in the loft is lower than a standard ceiling and stooping might be required for taller folks. None of these minor items should be deal breakers... this is an AMAZING apartment and is totally worth the value!!
Finally, I want to say booking, check-in and check-out processes were easy and stress free. Annette was quick to answer any questions and even provided an informational booklet about the area when we confirmed our reservation.
This place is very nice to stay if you want to enjoy old San Juan. It is near of everything, there a lot of space in the condo, and is was clean. I definitely recommend it.
There is place to park in the street sometime or there is paying parking lot nearby if needed.
Dear Annet and Irma,
we have being home for one week now but still thinking and talking about our beautiful vacation in old San Juan.
Our stay was perfect, the apt so convenient and right in the middle of the old city. We were able to cook for lunch, without going all the time to the restaurant, even though the restaurants are so good over there! Our 4 years old daughter was so happy because she could run in the apartment (we live in NYC, and she has to be very careful at running there!) and she enjoyed having the school right in front of the apt so she could hear the kids playing. We got the opportunity to live the spirit of the city and meet local people......it was real life! After 9 days it really felt like our place! We'll be back!
Thank you again
Cristina and Luca
We were looking for something affordable in Old San Juan where 3 girls could feel safe and have plenty of space to spread out for a week. This was perfect. Such a great price and perfect location right next to fort san cristobal and wih a beatiful ocean view steps from the doorway. The decor is very nice and the apartment was very clean. We enjoyed having breakfast in the patio. The only tip I have is do not expect to park at the apartment. The street parking is very hard to come hy, but there is a very affordable and safe parking garage a short walk away. I will definitely be staying here again. Loved it!
Old San Juan is the oldest city on US Territory and part of the World Heritage. It is about 8 by 8 blocks of unique colonial style architecture and offers everything from restaurants, bars, Puerto Rican coffee shops, galleries, open air music, and nice paths to walk by the Port & Ocean, tourist shops to grocery store, pharmacy, Marshalls and Starbucks. The closest unofficial beach is in front of the Capitol Building in about 10-15 walking minutes from almost anywhere in Old San Juan. The nearest blue flag beach is called El Escambron and can reached in about 25-30 minutes walking along the Atlantic Ocean or in about 5 minutes by car/ taxi or bus. Old San Juan has a bus station from where you can go to Plaza Las Americas, the biggest mall in the Caribbean, to the Convention Center, as well as to Condado and Isla Verde, the other two main tourist spots along the coast of San Juan. Condado and Isla Verde are the modern parts of the city and have great beaches, hotels & casinos & much more...
