This sea inspired condo at Monterey has something that most vacation rentals do not – views of the Gulf from every room! Whether you are in the well-equipped kitchen or one of the comfortable bedrooms the picturesque views are spellbinding. Also, since Monterey rests directly on the shores of our precious Gulf you can experience clean white sand between your toes anytime you like. Then there is always the option of floating in the Monterey gulf-front pool all day!

Apart from excellent views, the condo itself is so cheery with its sunny yellow walls and mermaid and lighthouse décor. It’s almost as if it’s saying “welcome to vacation”! A beachy chic décor along with an open floor plan and plenty of dining and seating truly create an air of comfort. Plus a private furnished balcony wraps around the southwest corner letting you enjoy endless hours of dolphin watching while in the shade. The living room not only offers endless Gulf views but also provides a large flat screen television for those movie and game enthusiasts.

The master bedroom opens up to the balcony and it features a king size rod-iron bed, flat screen television, double vanities in the bathroom and even a Jacuzzi garden bathtub that also views the Gulf. You’ll find a laundry room next to the kitchen and anything else you could need just down the road in quaint Seacrest Beach.

During Spring and Summer this condo requires a 7-night, Saturday to Saturday stay. Any other time we require a 3-night minimum stay.

Upgrades Winter 2016/2017:

New paint and new color in Living area, dining area, kitchen and hallway

New paint on living room wicker furniture, dining room chairs and barstools

New carpet in all bedrooms

We do not rent to anyone under 25 or to students.

This unit is bright and airy with spectacular views from the windows and balcony. Everything you need is there. There is space for friends to gather as well as room for privacy when you would like some. Any minor issues were dealt with quickly by Newman-Dailey. We are returning next winter for sun and sand.

A bit dissapointed

Let me first say that the location is ideal, the view is awesome, and overall was a great vacation.

1. On the first day we went through the kitchen cabinets and one of the drawer faces literally fell off. It was clear that it was just barely hanging on. This combined with missing cabinet knobs, carpet stains and some paint refreshing needed just left us with a bit of a blah feel.

They offered to send someone out but I didn't want someone in the property when I wasn't there and the last thing I wanted to do was schedule a repair on my vacation.

2. One of the bathrooms had a HUGE stain on the ceiling, dark and moldy looking like something had leaked really bad and had not been fixed for quite some time, really gross.

I was told the leak had been fixed and with the property being rented so much that there had not been time to schedule the repair. I get that but having the property off the market for a week is an option, especially if they choose to not disclose.

3. The dryer was worthless, likely a clogged vent. Took 3 to 4 hours to dry a small load.

4. WiFi was horrible, cut out all the time. One would say well you are in vacation but I had work to do. It was so bad I had to use my hotspot.

5. No lights on balcony, multiple fixtures, some sort of electrical issue I suppose.

6. Probably one of the most disturbing things is the fact that the indide slide lock on the entrance door (the only way to keep someone with a code out) doesn't work, it was bent and jammed. On one of the days we sent two of our teenagers up from the beach by themselves. With one in the shower and the other relaxing in bed, someone came to the door and let themselves in. I am sure are unclear as to whether or not they rang the doorbell and then came in or what, but the children were specifically told to not answer the door or let anyone in. They were freaked out, listening to someone in the condo saying "hello" or whatever they were saying. I am sure the person was trying to be friendly and let them know they were "supposed to be there" but that was not appropriate.

When I got back, there was a note that an exterminator was there. The response to this complaint was that that was up to the HOA and that they are normally notified and was not something they could "control or take back".

We were given a small credit, and customer service did as well as they could given the situation of knowingly renting a property that could use a bit of work.

Perfect Location

The condo was very nice, laid out really well and with a beautiful view of the gulf. It was clean and updated. We did not hear any noise from other condos. The only complaints that I have is that the check in is a good distance from the condo. I thought that I had read somewhere that check in was after 3:00pm but when I got there after 3 I was told that it wasn't ready and that checkin was after 4pm. The condo wasn't ready until 4:20pm and you have to be out by 10am. Also, I've never had a vacation rental that didn't give enough detergent for at least one load of dishes and laundry. So make sure you bring some with you along with any spices including salt & pepper. Other than that, everything was great. The location was perfect to us because it was within a short drive of everything but was in a less crowded area of 30A. Our daughter and son in law appreciated that they had a private bathroom connected to their bedroom too.

Great view!

Great location, beautiful views! 4 stars because kitchen was not well stocked. Only 4 spoons so we had to keep hand washing them. And be prepared to bring everything! There is usually a salt and pepper shaker and coffee filters at other high end condos but cupboards were bare!

The location and view is fantastic --

The location and overall property is fantastic. Very private beach and pool area well-maintained. This was our third stay in this complex and the first in this specific unit. The bedroom layout is as-advertised and the unit was appropriately cleaned. Linens and furniture were functional.

The reason for the 3 stars:

a) the kitchen was very poorly equipped. We only had one very dull chopping knife to prepare meals with and two small bread knives (serrated edges) not suitable for chopping veggies or cheese. There was no cutting board and literally not a single dish (like corning) with a lid or a single piece of plastic wear to store any food in the fridge. If I stay here again I would bring some of my own kitchen supplies --

b) the master bedroom closet light had some sort of short and at times we had to locate clothing in the dark.

c) a few hooks in the bathrooms would be great to hang damp swim-suits or cosmetic bags given limited counter space

d) the clothes dryer was missing the lent filter and therefore took forever to dry towels -- several hours for one small load to dry (3 beach towels)

e) the broom needs to be replaced and there was no dust pan -- it would have been nice to be able to help protect the owner's carpets by sweeping sand daily which I typically do at the beach

f) I would suggest bringing bed pillows as the ones in the unit were not high quality (more like cushions than pillows)

This may sound picky but as the area is a bit upscale I would have expected a bit more in terms of the amenities in the condo. Overall we had a lovely vacation and I would choose this condo again if another was not available in the complex. Working with the property management company was seamless and they provided great customer service in all of my dealings with them.
