This self-standing cottage apartment has all of the amenities needed for a comfortable stay: private entrance, central air conditioning/heat, ceiling fan, and cable TV. Wireless internet is available, however the cottage is not hardwired and the signal can be intermittent depending on the device.
The kitchen is well-equipped with under the counter fridge (with a small freezer), stove/oven, kettle, coffee maker and toaster. A hide-away dining table with seats for 4 people can be brought out when needed.
A BBQ is available outdoors for your use. Complimentary pets included at this property, but please do not let them into the cottage.
We loved the Parish of Smith's for its central and convenient location.
The open ceiling concept of this studio cottage gives visitors an opportunity to see Bermuda's unique way of building our signature white roof.
I am so glad my husband and I were able to celebrate our Christmas vacation here. The cottage is cozy and comfortable and had everything we needed and more. We loved all of the information in the binder as well as the brochures and books. The cell phone helped us easily call to rent a scooter and to check on the hours of some places we wished to visit. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking and we enjoyed breakfasts outside at the table and chairs in front of the cottage. The beach towels, cooler and snorkeling gear helped make our trip easy and fun. The Dark and Stormys in the fridge were a delicious welcome treat. Receiving our first bus tickets also helped us to get into town to buy passes easily. The location of the cottage made everything easily reachable.
Robin and Devin were welcoming, kind, and helpful. Robin's tour upon our arrival helped us get our bearings and we learned some good information about the area. They were available and approachable if we had any questions or needs. We are incredibly grateful for their flexibility after flight delays and very glad we picked their place as our home base for our time in beautiful Bermuda.
Back in August of 2015, my husband and I traveled to Bermuda for a week of relaxation from our busy lives back in the States. Time and time again, Robin and Devin have made us feel welcome with their attention to details. From a bottle of wine, to a welcome platter in the fridge, we always feel like we are coming home to meet family due to their warm hospitality. Little touches like having bottled water in the fridge and the thoughtful gesture of having two bus tickets to get into Hamilton saved us the stress of having to run right out to grab a food and drinks and to avoid the expensive cost of taking a taxi to Hamilton to buy our bus pass. Robin and Devin are shining examples of how friendly Bermudians are and you will find this to be true throughout the island. Every year, we look forward to seeing them both and without a doubt, we’ll continue to come back year after year to our beloved cottage.
I am a Bermudian who needed inexpensive and central accommodation. This little cottage was amazing: full of character, comfortable, very clean and everything that I needed - plus some!
I very much appreciated to use of a cell phone for contacting family, by text and phone, while on the road on my rental scooter. This place is ideal for one, or two, guests.
The central location is an added plus. Both John Smiths Bay, on the South Shore, and Shelly Bay Beach, on the calmer North Shore, are nearby - as is Flatts Village, where one can visit the Aquarium and enjoy various dining options. It is not far to the main city of Hamilton where a ferry ride will transport you to the west end and Dockyard - a pleasant way to spend a day. The East end is also quite close and a fascinating place to explore the old town of St George and snorkel at Tobacco Bay. I also enjoyed kayaking in the Harbor.
I have no hesitation in recommending this rental and would definitely stay here again.
This cute cottage was perfect for my wife and I for a week. It was well equipped and comfortable (though small). The location was great with a grocery store a short walk away, and beautiful John Smith's Bay beach about a 15 minute walk. It was a relatively short scooter ride to Hamilton, St. George's and beautiful Horseshoe Bay beach (as well as the other beautiful beaches on the south shore). Devin and Robin were extremely helpful and attentive, particularly as Hurricane Joaquin approached and hit. They provided us with critical information, as well as necessary supplies. We never lost power, and the sturdy little cottage handled the wind and rain with no issues. We rented a scooter for the week from Elbow Bay. Mrs. T, Diane and Kevin were great to deal with. We saw every corner of this beautiful island, on our scooter. We also took the ferry to the Dockyards. There is so much to see and do in Bermuda, and everyone is super friendly and helpful. We had great dining experiences at The Lobster Pot, Rustico's, The Four Ways, Wahoo's, The Swizzle Inn and, our favorite, Art Mel's. We cant wait to return to this island paradise.
Property was exactly suited to our needs and more. Echoing the comments already made about the cottage below, they really have thought of everything. Stocking the fridge, providing a local mobile phone and a complete beach kit to say the least.
So glad we did not stay at hotel, as that would have been far more limiting of our experience of Bermuda.
This entire experience was made so enjoyable by all the attention to detail that this family provided for us. The personnel greeting, the beautiful touches to make our birthday vacation special, even down to birthday cakes with candles.! The cottage was clean and well stocked with all the little things that you don't think to pack like sandwich bags! They had pre bought some groceries for us and they were sitting nestled in the fridge for our arrival. They assisted us with every thing that we needed, even when we lost our luggage, they drove us to the store to buy clothes! There was a cell phone to use while we were there with pre programmed numbers on it.... genius! To read more about this incredible experience you can check it out in full on tipsyceliacdiva.com
A great way to be independent but secure, all at the same time!
Just a 15 minute walk away, visitors will find John Smith's Bay beach, which boasts pink sand and crystal clear water. It is popular among both tourists and locals, and is a great spot for snorkeling, with the closest reef only about 200 yards from shore.
Spittal Pond, Bermuda's largest nature reserve, is just a short walk away. This reserve stretches along the south shore coastline and some 64 acres of land. With winding trails throughout, visitors will be treated to spectacular views and great opportunities for bird-watching.
Visitors can walk to Harrington Hundreds Grocer within 5 minutes. A fine food emporium, Harrington Hundreds also offers a variety of beer, wine and spirits, and provides a hot food bar for both breakfast and lunch.
Located about a 5 minute ride away, Flatts Village is a family-friendly village of shops, restaurants and the fabulous Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo, with clusters of pastel-painted cottages and rustling palm trees. It is also home to Rustico Restaurant & Pizzeria, one of the finest Italian restaurants on the island.
Just about 5 minutes ride down South Road, at the crossroads of South Shore Road and Collector’s Hill, visitors will find The Specialty Inn, a family style restaurant. Other restaurants just a short distance away are the North Rock Pub & Restaurant, Tom Moore's Tavern and the dining room at Pink Beach Club.
Visitors will find the bus stop heading west into the city of Hamilton conveniently located just 30 yards from the entrance to this studio guest cottage. The bus stop heading East to St. George's is also conveniently close at 75 yards away.
