Newly remodeled. Newly available.
Very large living room. Cathedral Ceiling. Window wall.
So close to the beach you can often hear the rush of the waves, this peaceful cottage features a living room with a high cathedral ceiling, a window wall, large sectional sofa and another sofa.
Bedroom walls are stained wood and tropical blue drywall. Sleeping arrangements are 2 queen beds in the 2 bedrooms, plus 2 sofa sleepers in the living room. Maximum occupancy is 6. The bathroom is normal size with a cabinet sink, commode, and shower.
The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher.
Outside is a deck around 2 sides of the house. A porch swing is in the grassy back yard.
You don't cross any street to get to the beach. We are the 3rd house off the beach; that is, two houses are between Sea Oats Cottage and the beach. We are less than 1 block from a public beach access, which is an elevated wooden walkway that starts on our street and crosses about 50 feet of dunes before ending on the beach.
I love this house!! It was perfect for my family!!! So clean and convenient
to all Tybee!! Ocean was awesome and right there!! Can't wait to come
I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the property and coziness of the furnishings. When my family and I arrived, there was music playing and there was a wonderful fresh scent that filled the entire cottage. I thought that was a really nice touch. The best part was that the cottage was extremely clean, so the plug-in was just a really nice added touch and not covering up anything. This is a pet friendly rental, so that was really important that we didn't walk in feeling like it was a kennel! Ted has done an amazing job making sure to keep property managers and housekeepers to make sure the property stays neat. I had to call Ted to ask a few questions and he was responsive and very polite. We even accidently left an item behind and he made sure it got shipped back to us.
This time of year, Tybee Island is pretty quiet because it's not very hot. I personally enjoyed that fact because I don't like crowds. It was a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the holidays. The beach was beautiful, but beware - you CANNOT bring your dog on the beach! We took our dog as far as the boardwalk and that was OK; however, if you are looking for your dog to play and run on the beach with you, Tybee Island is not the place. There are a couple of dog parks nearby (located at the RV park) where we took our dog to exercise off the leash. It was still very nice to have our dog with us for Christmas rather than boarding her and I am very appreciative that we were able to bring her because usually we have to find other alternatives when we go away. That was the main reason for us picking this cottage.
All of the appliances worked well. The kitchen is small, but there is plenty of storage for a short stay. There are plenty of utensil and pots and pans. There is even a seasoning rack. There is an IGA grocery store about a mile down the road from the cottage.
The livingroom has a huge sectional sofa, which is wonderful for lounging. There is also an additional loveseat. There are also some board games and playing cards for indoor fun. There is also plenty of patio seating and a grill on the deck.
Overall, I highly recommend Seat Oats and would love to stay again if we find ourselves going back to Tybee!
I loved this cottage. The sunroom and deck are lovely and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The beds were comfortable and the couch was great for napping and reading. Dad loved the recliner. The beach is so close, as are several restaurants, a theatre, and historic sites. The only thing that wasn't supplied was food and clothing - though we did make use of the washer and dryer. And Ted is great as a landlord! It was a great week and we will definitely return for another visit!!
My family of three enjoyed our stay. This home was perfect for us and only steps away from beach access. Will reserve again in the future.
Very nice we really enjoyed our week.
We came to tybee to baptize our daughter. Afterwards we had a fellowship reception at the cottage. And it was perfect for entertaining. Turned out beautiful! ❤
Great cottage close to the beach. The beach is at the end of the street then you walk out a long pier to get to the sand/ocean. The house had everything you would need to stay there and be comfortable for a weeks stay or longer. We only stayed the night on our way to Daytona...which by the way I appreciated the owner renting for one night to us. House was very clean and there are restaurants you can walk to if your hungry. I would not hesitate to stay there again if we decided to stay longer on Tybee Island.
Within 4 blocks of this home, you will find 6 restaurants, a post office, convenience store, liquor store, a fresh seafood store, an ATM, a pharmacy, 5 bars, a bike rental shop, a surf shop, 2 clothing/gift shops, and a wide, white-sand beach. Pedicab is just a block away. This is like a small horse-drawn carriage except that it is powered by an enterprising biker instead of a horse. (The Crab Cab is the island taxi service) A short walk to the north is a large park with ancient live oak trees and a gazebo beside a stream. A short walk to the south is the library and another park with picnic tables. A YMCA is adjacent to this park.
