Experience Austin with a very spacious house right in the heart of town. WALKING DISTANCE TO THE SXSW FESTIVAL!
104-year-old Craftsman home built around 1910. It has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, and a sleeping porch, can easily sleep at least 7, unless you're willing to share, don't mind inflatable mattresses, or pallet on the floor, in which case, 12 could easily sleep here. Swimming pool, 1/4 wraparound porch that feels secluded. There is plenty of space for privacy even with multiple people in the house. The kitchen has new appliances and there is a washer and dryer on site. Internet access. We have bikes for riding around the town, if you wish.
If Austin were a monopoly board game, this house would be on 'Boardwalk,' Walk to 6th street, the Capital building, The University of Texas(great house for UT football games), and a short drive to everything else even during traffic hours.
So many new homes out there are what you would call cookie cutter. Not this house. This house was built with pride and care and you will notice this when you stay here. The woodwork gives such a warmth and radiates great vibes. They don't build them like this anymore.' Multiple people will be able to find a private space. And, as I've said, it's located close to so many things.
I stayed here with 9 girlfriends for a college reunion and ACL Fest. The house is beautiful with plenty of space. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom were up to date. There were plenty of bathrooms, showers, towels, etc for everyone to get ready at the same time. All of the bedrooms are upstairs and very cozy. Also, we were fascinated that the house even had an elevator! My friends and I hung out in the living room and dining room and loved all the charming decor.
Dyan was a great host. She gave us a quick tour when we arrived and was available via text throughout the weekend when we had minor questions (e.g., looking for an iron).
I would highly recommend staying here. One thing to note is there a guest house / casita in the back which is occupied by another tenant. He was friendly and we only saw him once at the start of the weekend - but otherwise he stayed out of our way and we didn't see him. The location is very close to downtown. We walked to the Texas capitol and all the way to the river. It's only a $7 - 10 cab ride to most of the highlights we wanted to see - Congress St, Rainey St, Downtown Austin, etc.
7 members of our family (3 generations) stayed at this lovely, charming, fascinating home for my daughter's graduation. It was perfect! The home is huge, with plenty of space to spread out, and the yard is huge also. Beautiful pool and seating areas. Great front porch also. The location can't be beat for access to UT, 6th St, etc. We walked everywhere. Great bonus is driveway with parking for 2 cars. Wish we had known of this beautiful home all 4 years at UT. Thanks, Dyan, for your hospitality!
Stayed here for a girls trip with 7 ladies. Dyan's house was PERFECT for our trip! The pictures don't do the space justice. There are 4 bedrooms (each with a double or king bed) and a sleeping porch with 2 twin beds and a futon. The space is great for 4 couples or a trip with friends! The location is also terrific, just a few blocks from downtown Austin but a quick Get Me ride to anywhere we wanted to go (Uber has been outlawed in Austin for the time being) . We didn't have a car and that was not a problem at all.
There is another tenant that rents a room connected to the back of the house, which we didn't know until we met him in the backyard, but he seemed nice.
My entire family (grandparents, kids, grandkids) just spent a wonderful Thanksgiving in this remarkable Austin home. It's right in the middle of town, close to everything, yet it sits on a quiet residential street. The bedrooms are all upstairs, making it convenient for putting the kids to bed while the adults stayed up a little later. Yes, the house is old, but doesn't show its age, except in the most positive ways: Bedrooms, living area, bathrooms and kitchen are all huge. Dyan was the perfect host. She made sure that we had everything we needed for our Thanksgiving feast!
The owner was wonderful and very accommodating. Home was impressively large and felt very comfortable. Backyard area with pool was excellent. I would absolutely recommend this property to friends and family.
The host was very friendly and accommodating.
The House was huge with more than enough space. I loved the back yard with the pool and hot tub.
The location was perfect downtown, right near UT campus and all the fun in the city.
Walking Distance to 6th street. Very Close to SXSW and ACL. Walking distance to UT football games. Great location that feels private and spacious. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Grocery stores within 10 blocks.
