About the property

2 Bedroom, 1 & 1/2 Bathroom, sleeps 6

Our clean, comfortable home sits just across the road from lake Eden. It is a beautiful lake to boat, fish, kayak and canoe or just lay on the beach. Included in the rental is one 3 person canoe and two one person kayaks with paddles and vests.

The house is located right off of rt. 100, making travel to the local ski areas extremely safe and simple. Jay Peak, Stowe, and Smuggler's Notch are all within about 25 miles. Why stay at one resort for a week when it's so easy to ski or board all 3?

Our home features 2 upstairs bedrooms with a total of two queen beds and one twin. Downstairs is a pullout couch that transforms into an extremely comfortable queen.

Perfect Winter Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and our 3 boys rented this the week of Christmas through New Years Eve. We have booked at Jay Peak in the past but thought we would try something different this year. We couldn't have asked for a better location. Centrally located between Smugglers Notch and Jay Peak we had our pick of both mountains during our stay. The drive to each mountain was about 30 minutes from this house and a very easy drive. We even went into Stowe one night which was a little further out but again not a bad drive from the house. The house is exactly as stated on the site. It was so warm and cozy. We didn't spend a whole lot of time in the house as we woke up and went skiing every day and only cooked breakfast and one dinner while we were there but it was absolutely perfect for us. It also snowed every day we were there and the walkway and parking area were cleared promptly. One caution, the walkway down was very icy and we had to just walk through the snow to get to the house but other then that no complaints at all. Thanks Michael, the house was great and it was awesome to have some nice quiet family time in your cozy little home.

Perfect Winter Retreat

  • 5 of 5

House is great! Small, but very nice, well equipped, and worked well for our group of 6 adults. We came down from Ontario for the cross country ski races in Craftsbury, a short, easy drive from the house. Groceries were a15-minute drive away. The owner Michael was quick to respond to all our questions and was very accommodating. Would stay here again despite added hassle/cost of payment by bank transfer.

Pleasant cottage

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our 4 night stay in this quaint cottage near the shore of Lake Eden. The cottage was functional, clean and comfortable - the bed was a little on the hard side for my taste - and the kitchen was well equipped. As the cottage is surrounded by trees, it can be a little dark inside and unfortunately when we were there, it was not warm enough to use the porch, which would have been much brighter. The second half bathroom upstairs was very handy. The main bath is on the main floor. The cottage is close to route 100, which lies between the cottage and the lake. We slept in the back bedroom to avoid any disturbance from the traffic.

We enjoyed the use of the canoe on Lake Eden and on the one warm evening enjoyed a quick swim in the lake too. The rest our time was spent hiking - Mount Mansfield, Jay Peak. And on a rainy day enjoyed sampling the beer at Rock Art brewery.

Michael was very prompt with all communications.

Wonderful stay on Lake Eden!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and our children had an awesome Labor Day weekend getaway! The lake Eden house is beautiful and well stocked with the essentials for a family vacation. The home is in a perfect location to experience all that northern VT has to offer! We did several hikes in the Stowe area, visited Hill Farmstead brewery and a few other beer spots nearby. It was great to come back and relax on the beach while the kids swam in the lake! Our boys enjoyed the canoe and s'mores over the fire pit at night. The owners are very friendly and it was a pleasure renting from them. We will definitely return!
