Our family of 5 lives to travel and we all love the beach. We really enjoy all of the amenities that Barrier Dunes has to offer.
The Owner purchased this townhome in 2011
Cape San Blas is a wonderful vacation destination that is not touristy. There are miles of beautiful white beaches and none of the crowds and highrises that you find in Destin, Panama City Beach or Gulf Shores. It is a great place to get away and truly relax.
Our townhouse is one of the newest in Barrier Dunes and is just steps away from the gulf front pool and beach. It is newly remodeled and has all new appliances and furnishings. We have a 40 inch plasma TV as well as TV's and DVD players in both bedrooms.
We had a wonderful time at Barrier Dunes. The beach was great. The townhouse was immaculate, well stocked and a stones throw from the pool and beach. Steve was very helpful and friendly. We will certainly stay here again.
We spent a wonderful week at this Barrier Dunes condo. Barrier Dunes is a safe, quiet, and gated community near the entrance to St Joseph Peninsula State Park. The white sand beach here is uncrowded, clean, and dog friendly! The condo was comfortable and everything was as it is described. The owner was great to deal with - he was polite and very responsive during the reservation process and answered all my questions in a timely manner, even after we arrived. The condo is located in one of the best locations in the property - very close to the oceanfront pool and clubhouse, and to the beach boardwalk. We had a great week with beautiful weather and made lots of sweet memories with my 3 year old daughter and my parents. I have spent many summers at the Cape and this was the third time we have stayed at a Barrier Dunes unit. We would definitely stay in this condo again.
This property needs extensive upgrades and repairs. The TV in the master bedroom did not work, the refrigerator leaked all over the floor every time the ice maker made ice, the furniture needs replacing and there needs to be more seating available.(one old couch and a hard back chair is all that is available in the living room), pots and pans need to be replaced, we were afraid to cook with them, the dishwasher has not been taken care of so we washed all utensils by hand, and the outside shower is just a pipe with a shower spout.
The townhouse was exactly as advertised and shown in the photos. No surprises. The unit was clean and comfortable. There were adequate linens, towels and dishes. Beach towels were not provided so make sure to pack some. The Internet, TV, free long distance, appliances all worked well. The owner was great to deal with and when contacted, got back to us right away with answers to our questions. It is a fair drive to get groceries in Port St. Joe but there is a decent convenience store at the Trading Post a mile or so away. Good selection of restaurants in Port St. Joe and Apalachicola. For dog owners, this is an awesome spot. The Barrier Dunes complex is very safe and comfortable. People were very friendly and the beach could not be more beautiful and quiet. We have already booked to come back next year!
My sister and I just spent a week in the Barrier Dunes community at Cape San Blas, FL. It is a beautiful dog friendly place with three ponds with turtles to feed, two pools, and located minutes away from a gorgeous beach. This condo was exactly as presented by the owner. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with all you need to cook and stay for an extended time. The best thing that was provided was free long distance calling for their renters to use. This is a wonderful perk since there is limited cell coverage on the Cape. You can build fires on the beach and make smores, while watching the loveliest sunsets you will ever see. We loved walking the beach and finding all kinds of shells to bring home. Steve was great to work with, getting back to me when I inquired about renting the condo. He also checked on us when we arrived, to see if we had everything we needed. I would definitely rent this condo again. My sister and I had an awesome week in this lovely place.
Great condo complex with nice immenities. The grounds a re very well maintained and accommodate pets. We visited in late December so we did not expect great weather but we pleasantly surprised. Most days the forecast called for low 60's but we it seemed to reach the 70's almost every day.
The beach is amazing and we enjoyed spending most of our time there. The condo was very nice with plenty of towels and accessories. We had a problem with the barbecue, called the owner and he brought a new one out the next morning! He was very kind and helpful with all the arrangements as well as our stay.
Cannot wait to return!
