I have taken 2 separate trips to Casa Di Gasperi , one with my family, the other with college friends.
The house was unbelievable, an interesting old home that had been renovated to suit travelers in the 20th century, it was a fantastic experience. I have traveled quite extensively and this is one of my top destinations. From the artwork to the panoramic vistas from the roof-top deck to the old world character of the home.........all of these were unparalled in my experiences. The town of Altomonte was filled with antiquated charm, history, romance, great eateries and that famous Italian hospitality. A great place to lose your troubles for a few days and get re-acquainted with peace and your inner self. Altomonte is a true elixir for relieving modern stress. Don`t miss it!
Saving the best for last, Josh was a tremendous host, an 11 on a 10 point scale. His planning , execution, personal attention, creativity, hopitality, and graciousness were over the top. Never have I had an experience where the host, Josh, went to such trouble to make sure your stay exceeded your expectations. If Josh wanted to launch a new career , hosting and hospitality is a perfect fit ----a real natural. He could not have done a better job, no stone was left unturned. I can`t find the words to describe the experience that he created for his guests.
I was fortunate enough to have gone with a group of friends, and the stay, the people, the town, and its beautiful way were life changing. Josh and Enza, so affable, and caring, actually have become friends. I will come back, and stay here, as it is the best. What a beautiful country, and beautiful people.
What a special place to spend a week with some close friends. Josh and Enza were the most gracious of hosts, and the only negative part of the trip was having to end our stay. The Villa is filled with history and every room leaves you thinking about how the artwork was collected and the stories behind each artifact.
The village of Altomonte is a quaint area and one that we were entirely at ease and comfortable exploring on our own. Be prepared to enjoy good food at roadside cafe's, and drink Prosecco in the afternoons, and lemoncello watching the beautiful sunsets.
This location is a must do to experience the best of southern Italy.
My wife and I took our two adult sons and their wives to Italy on vacation. We spent one week in Altomonte in Casa Di Gasperi. We toured, hiked and swam, but our best times were cooking and eating on the wonderful rooftop terrace. My one son is a chef and we found the local markets to have fresh fruit, vegetables and meats. It doesn't get any better then this, eating drinking wine while overlooking the mountains and valley. Jim Di Berardinis
