We looked for a place near the national park and close to wildlife and hiking trails and this place was perfect. It is secluded and private. The yard is maintained like a botanical desert garden - just beautiful. The 'bunkhouse' is cozy, clean and comfortable with a wonderful front porch. Access to restaurants, stores and I-10 was only 10-15 minutes away. Lou and Ozzie are wonderful hosts. We would definitely return.
I wish I had had more time to spend just hanging out there. It was beautiful, the desert was in bloom, the orange and grapefruit trees had giant fruit on them, and it all just smelled so nice! We really enjoyed our stay and Lou and Ozzie were great hosts. I highly recommend this great little bunk house in the desert! Tucson is a huge city and it was nice to get away from the traffic and congestion, and if you're visiting Saguaro NP East or the Sonoran Desert Museum (which you really should do!), you couldn't ask for a better location.
My daughter and I just loved the bunkhouse and the grounds surrounding it. We loved the location - out of the way but minutes to shopping and the freeway. The house was very clean and comfortable. The sofa bed has a real mattress and was very comfortable. The huge porch is delightful, especially for watching sunsets. We were lucky enough that the orange and grapefruit trees still held some delicious fruit. The adorable quails run around the property and are fun to watch. Also enjoyed our first glimpse of a roadrunner - ran right past the porch. At night the stars are unbelievably close and bright.
Lou and Ozzie are a friendly couple and will inform you of places to see and they know all the names of the beautiful trees, cactus, and other plants. I would recommend this property to anyone who loves the desert. It was very comfortable for the two of us.
We loved the Bunkhouse and Lou and Ozzie were great hosts.
We enjoyed relaxing on the hammock or sitting on the wonderful porch listening to the birds, coyotes, owls, chickens, dogs.
Comfortable and quiet lodging for a couple. We stayed here three nights in March for some hiking in Saguaro National Park and other visits in area. Don't miss the Desert Museum. Ozzie and Lou were quite helpful with some recommendation for places to explore. The fresh grapefruit and oranges just outside the Bunkhouse were excellent for breakfast and snacks. Eating dinner on the front porch and watching sunsets. Will definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends and family.
The property was just as advertised clean well maintained the owners were great we felt safe and well informed We enjoyed the hikes that were near by it is a little out but it is the real deal loved the front porch the orange trees the birds all of it
