The fact that there is not good seating on the terrace attached to the house.
The villa is close to all the small cities and easy to get to all places. We went to Siena, Volterra, Forti Dei Marmi, Cinque Terre and Lucca from there.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Balbano was within walking distance, but we had cars so we never walked. You do need a car.
Tips or Restaurants:
Best restaurant in Lucca is Buca's. We loved it. Freda who helps with the property knows all the great restaurants and can set you up at a beach club in Forti dei Marmi. Do that, it's great.
Use GPS and use the ones from Europe.
Although there are some shops located just under four kilometers from the property, for a wider range of things to do and see, definitely visit Lucca. The city of Lucca is worth enjoying for its medieval charm, but there are also a number of interesting sights to visit, such as the 130-foot Torre Guinigi, which is possible to climb, as well as a great antique market held on the third Sunday of each month. The Duomo di San Martino and the Church of San Michele in Foro are both gorgeous examples of period architecture, while the Casa di Puccini, where the composer was born, has been transformed into a small museum in his honor. There is a train station in Lucca from which you can easily and quickly travel to Pisa or Florence for the day.
