About The Owner

My wife and I retired from careers in Southern California but we now make Florida our permanent residence. We spend part of our year in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

The Owner purchased this condo in 1997

Why The Owner chose Florida South Central Gulf Coast

Sanibel is our favorite place to visit. On each arrival, we find our spirits lifted by simply driving over the new causeway. Despite its premier resort status, you'll find that Sanibel has a small town feel. We enjoy the beach the most --- walking, shelling, jogging or swimming. But we sample all Sanibel has to offer: the nature preserves, biking, a round of golf and of course, for my wife, the restaurants.

Loggerhead Cay is the premier condominium on Sanibel Island, only two minutes from the end of the causeway, located on the Gulf, and a healthy walk or relaxing bike ride to shops and restaurants on Periwinkle Drive.

Photos do not do it justice!

We rented this lovely condo for a week in late April despite it having no previous reviews. We were slightly apprehensive because of that but the rate was lower than the other condos and we are not super picky. We were amazingly surprised at the size of the condo. It was huge! Which is why I say the photos do not do it justice! We had everything in the kitchen we needed. The lanai was right over the pool and you could see the Gulf just fine. The views and sunset from the front entrance were great too and we just put some chairs out there to see the beautiful sunsets. It is right by the entrance to the beach too. The location was perfect too, just off the causeway and a good walk down the beach to the lighthouse. They provided beach chairs and noodles too. Everything went very smoothly with the rental company too, they even kept our cooler filled with food (we were moving on to another location in Ft. Meyers) in their office for us too on our last day while we rented a boat out of Captiva. Just a note, the complex is very low-key. The unit could be more up-to-date, but like I said, we are not picky, so if you are concerned about just a little wear and tear, spend the extra $500 or more for something pristine. To us, this was perfect and we would rather spend that money on activities! I would not recommend it if you want a loud party place. Would definitely stay there again!!! Oh and the grounds at Loggerhead Cay are beautiful!

Loggerhead Cay pet policy limits guests to a single pet of up to 25 pounds and there is an additional non-refundable pet fee of $250.

My on-island management company collects a security deposit to hold the reservation. Ninety days before arrival they collect the rental funds which I will quote to you and they arrange for key pickup. During your stay they are available to deal with any issues that may come up. Following your stay, they take care of your security deposit refund.
