A Laurel Haven is truly a dream get away for simple R&R. Kick back and relax on the front or back porch of this darling cabin. It is very secluded, has long range mountain views, and a tree house feel. The interior is decorated with rustic and antique furniture. Tall, open cathedral ceilings host a huge hammer beam in the center, and a real maple tree holds up a rustic laurel hand rail and landing. If we don't have your dates available here, check out our sister cabin, Chestnut Haven, Listing #909889.
When you have rested and want to do 'something', there are many activities close by, to partake of. Brevard is a sweet 'Mayberry' like town, with shops, antiques, and wonderful places to eat. It is also home to the Brevard Music Center which hosts renowned artists/ musicians from around the world. The famous Biltmore Castle is only an hour away. We are centrally located to 2 state forests, and the Pisgah National Forest-- all of which offer great hiking, biking, and horseback trails. After a day of activities, come home to a friendly fire inside or outside in our fire pit. Great for family bonding, or romance.
Mark Goff, President of Goff Construction, Inc. built Laurel Haven in 2003. He is a licensed contractor. As seen in the cabin, he has quite an eye for detail, and the quality of his work is unsurpassed. (Yes, I'm a little biased)
I, Phyllis, am a licensed real estate broker, but management of my cabins is my priority. I do the decorating as well as the cleaning. We live less than a mile away, so we truly are hands on, and a close call away to meet any needs that might arise.
Phyllis Goff purchased this cabin in 2004
Because it is so part of the mountains, rustic and natural, yet just 15 minutes from downtown Brevard. Very secluded, and quiet.
The rustic staircase, vaulted ceilings, homemade furniture. Sister cabin, Chestnut Cove, is just one lot away, so it is perfect for big family get togethers.
Great mountain cottage off a very quiet road. The cabin has great character!!!! We loved all the woodworking and special touches. Well stocked. Towels were nice and fluffy. We will stay here again. Brevard was only 15 minutes away. We really enjoyed Magpies for dinner. And loved all the waterfalls... we did 6 different waterfall hikes with our kids. So thankful to have the claw foot tub to soak in after long hikes.
I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a secluded, well-appointed and beautifully decorated cabin - close to Brevard and excellent hiking. The owner even had a decorated Christmas tree waiting for us in the living room - such a nice touch. We also appreciated the generous bath towels, plenty of extra pillows and blankets, and well-stocked kitchen. My favorite time was sitting out on the back deck in a rocking chair, having my morning tea overlooking trees and enjoying the quiet.
The cabin is very nice. My wife especially loved all the various décor items because it made it feel so homey and country.
If you are looking to hide away... This is the perfect spot! Grill some steaks and roast marshmallows for s'mores on the fire pit. Have coffee on the back porch the next morning. The cabin is full of unique decor that will have you oohing and ahing. It's about 15 minutes from the wonderful dining and shopping of Brevard.
The cabin was everything we needed for our vacation. We were off the beaten path in our own little niche amongst the mountains. The solitude was one of the reasons we came to Brevard and the setting was extremely relaxing. Inside the house was very clean and well stocked with the essentials we needed for cooking meals. We loved eating or lounging outside on the back porch while enjoying the sound of the tree leaves rustling or the night sounds. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. Downstairs we played quite a bit of ping-pong and even cooked s'mores over a fire in the fire pit outside. We never even turned the tv on. Downtown Brevard was an easy drive away and we enjoyed several trips into the Pisgah and DuPont National Forest, and a ride on the Blueridge Parkway.
